There’s so much going on between April
and June that we really struggled to get
everything in our latest issue of Visage!
Fancy dress is not only all over the news,
with Lady Gaga releasing her own range
of party costumes, it is also applicable to
nearly every bank holiday we have coming
up, from royal wedding masks through to a

What’s it about?
One of the biggest running events in the world, the London Marathon attracts
thousands of runners from across the globe. In 2010, a staggering 36,549
people crossed the line which is the biggest field since the race began. Many
participants run in aid of charity whilst donning crazy fancy dress outfits
such as bananas and gorilla suits through to novelty superheroes.
A patriotic celebration of what it is to be English, held in honour of
England’s patron saint. England flags often adorn the country on this day,
whilst many choose to dress up for the occasion in St George knight
costumes, outfits that feature the England flag design and
even dragons!
A major Christian festival celebrating Christ’s resurrection,
Easter is traditionally linked with Easter egg hunts and we’ve
seen an increasing number of our customers buying oversized
Easter bunny outfits to add to the fun and to surprise the kids!
Alternatively we have loads of chicken outfits to choose from.
You would also not believe the amount of ‘bunny girls’ we
see flying out of our doors in time for Easter!
Whilst not strictly a fancy dress event, the Royal Wedding means

Beginning with...
One option that really seems to make people
think hard and opens up an entire world of
possibilities for your friends to dress-up is
selecting letters of the alphabet and asking
everyone to come dressed as something that
begins with that character.
If you take the first letters of your first and
last name, for example, our Managing Director’s

Hi Mike!
I am also occasionally asked to model
some costumes for the product images
on the website. I have had to perfect
certain poses when doing this and really
feel I have nailed one of the industries
hardest, it is called ‘awkward’!
So, what do you like best
about your job?
My job involves writing content for the
Jokers’ Masquerade website and, with
fancy dress as the main subject,
I am never short of things to write about!
With new characters being constantly
created in films, TV programmes, books
and games, we have to ensure we have
the most up-to-date costumes as
possible for our customers to wear at
fancy dress parties. I enjoy writing about
all these new outfits, especially when
an article or blog I have created does well
in the Google rankings and I can see an
increase in sales as a result
of this additional coverage.
Describe an average day
in your role.
Other tasks include updating the
website with any new content, including
blogs and articles I have written.
What do you like doing in
your spare time?
I am a sports enthusiast and love to
both play and watch many sports
including football, tennis, squash and
boxing. I spend a few hours at the gym
each week.

in May and 12 of us are going to dress
up in the American Footballer Player

he doesn’t know it yet, will be spending
the night dressed in the Adult Patriotic

It won’t be a pretty sight!

back by us in poor condition or missing
