Wheelchair Guest Care and Handling: Stars of Paradise Tours & Attractions recommends the following guidelines to make the beauty and
magic of Hawaii accessible for physically challenged guests.
1) Making Reservations: For cruises aboard the Star of Honolulu and “Rock-A-Hula” show, we need a minimum of 24 hours notice.
Note 1: For large numbers of guests requiring wheelchair access, please advise us at your earliest convenience; we cannot guarantee that
we are able to accommodate the group without advance confirmation.
Note 2: The Dolphin Star is not A.D.A. compliant due to inherent design limitations.
2) Accessible Transportation: We use our sister company, Royal Star Hawaii Motorcoach Tours & Destination Services (PUC 1505-C).
Note 1: Maximum wheelchair size is 30” wide by 48” long (must fit on lift platform and vehicle tie down area).
Note 2: Total weight of guest and chair must be less than 500 lbs.
Note 3: Acceptable: Most regular wheelchairs, and electric wheelchairs with a “joystick,” as long as they meet the above requirements
(we regret we cannot accept larger wheelchairs or scooters). For alternate accessible transportation we recommend
Handi-Wheelchair Transportation, LLC at (808) 946-6666 or (808) 398-4893.
Note 4: City Lights option after dinner cruise: We regret being unable to accommodate wheelchairs due to the nature of the site location
and equipment used for this option.
About the Star of Honolulu: Our goals in custom designing the STAR were to comply with A.D.A. (Americans with Disabilities Act) standards,
together with providing smooth sailing in Hawaiian waters with three types of stabilizers, from whale watching to dinner cruises. The STAR is
the only ship equipped with a boarding ramp and elevator access to accommodate all wheelchairs and scooters.
As always, we will do our best to accommodate our guests, and we appreciate your assistance and understanding.
