Our World is Water The benefits of Micron® Technology Micron Technology formulations are second to none! Micron® Technology uses biocides more efficiently than old fashioned hard bottom paints: Micron Technology has evolved into the class leading antifouling paints since first being introduced to the industry in the early 80’s. Micron Technology vs old fashioned hard antifoulings Water Spent Antifouling Micron Technology is the basis of all Micron bottom paints. Trapped Biocide Features and Benefits ■ Longest lasting, multi-season protection – with the ability to haul & relaunch without repainting ■ Controlled polishing, like a bar of soap reducing paint build up, eliminates the need for sanding ■ Micron Technology polishes to a smoother surface than hard antifoulings maximizing fuel savings ■ Unlike old fashioned hard bottom paints, Micron uses biocide more efficiently for longest lasting antifouling protection Old fashioned hard antifoulings will eventually leave biocide trapped within a rough, honeycombed paint film that will need to be removed by sanding or scraping. Micron Technology Controlled polishing like a bar of soap reduces paint build-up and eliminates the need for sanding Micron Technology antifouling paints polish at a controlled rate delivering a constant amount of biocide over time. The release rate of biocide is much more efficient than that of old fashioned hard antifoulings. In simple terms, if you can still see Micron on the boat, it is still working for you. Hard antifoulings will tend to lose their effectiveness over time. After many years of using old fashioned hard antifouling paint, the paint film continues to build up, become brittle, and starts to crack and flake off. And now with Micron CF there is a Micron for every boat in all areas All the benefits of Micron technology in a copper- free formula. Hard Antifouling Micron Technology antifoulings polish at a controlled rate and therefore will never build up No paint build up means that you will never have to remove old layers of Micron and spend precious hours or money each time you want to repaint. It is this controlled polishing that enables Micron to be used on all boats, in all waters, and at all times! Micron CF is a multi-season antifouling that uses Biolux® Slime Blocking Technology to combat slime and Econea® to ward off barnacles and zebra mussels. Like all Micron paints Micron CF is a polishing product that reduces paint build up and the self-smoothing characteristics of the paint reduce friction and improve fuel efficiency. A high solids formulation, Micron CF offers reduced solvent emissions and is VOC compliant. Micron CF is available in 4 bright colors including shell white as well as a crisp black. Micron CF is suitable for use on all boats What is Biolux? Biolux® is a unique antifouling technology developed by Interlux® that incorporates organic boosting biocides into a special biocide release system. This blocks slime growth for a fouling free boat bottom. How does it work? – Just like ordinary plants, slime and algae feed on sunlight. Formulations that use Biolux® technology prevent algae and slime from being able to grow by acting like sunscreen to block this process Micron a better choice for my boat than old fashioned hard bottom paints? Micron Technology Long Lasting Predictable Performance Prevents fouling in all conditions Multi-season Can haul & relaunch without repainting Micron CF offers all the benefits of Micron Technology plus: 3 Micron CF can be used on any substrate – including aluminum 3 Excellent protection in a copper free formula 3 Reduced discoloration at the waterline 3 Unique to Micron CF - Bright Colors! choice for boatyards/Marinas looking to reduce the amount of copper in water from 3 Excellent pressure washing Our World is Water Water Hard Conventional Micron Technology 12 – 18 Months 18 – 36 Months* 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 3 Paint wears away with use – Eliminating the need for sanding Becomes smoother as you use the boat Easy Recoating – no sanding or labor to prepare Provides maximum fuel savings No need to scrub *The length of service depends on the choice of Micron, water temperature, usage and number of coats applied.
