Our philosophy is to inspire a love
of the great outdoors in young people
so that they go on to lead active lives and
develop a special connection with nature.
I started Acorn Adventure back in the
early eighties, following many successful
trips with my own pupils as a teacher.
My aim was, and still is, to give young
people the opportunity to experience
adventure in an environment
that encourages a passion for the
outdoors, individual confidence and a
`community spirit`.
We have eight Adventure Camps in
some incredible locations in France,
Italy, Spain and Wales, all of which have
been carefully developed with this aim
in mind. At the majority of our camps,
we combine the `Acorn Village` living
environment with exciting activity
programmes that take place in natural
outdoor environments, wherever we can.

Adventure
A water sports paradise, this action-packed adventure
ensures plenty of time soaking up the Costa Brava sunshine
and cooling down in the crystal clear blue Mediterranean
Sea. From Stand Up Paddle Boarding (SUP) to Pico-sailing,
Snorkelling to Banana Boating (Optional extra charge).
This is the ideal water sports trip for schools and groups.
As well as an action-packed beach
water sports programme, delivered by
our qualified instructors, you will also get
to enjoy a day at Waterworld in Lloret de
Mar - Europe’s largest waterpark.
With its water pistes, speed slides, rafting
river, jacuzzis and `Le Calma` pools, this is
guaranteed to be a real trip highlight.
We also include a day trip to Barcelona,
which is a popular visit about an hour and
a half away. Known as one of Europe’s
most spectacular cultural treasures, you
can spend the day exploring Barcelona’s
medieval lamp lit lanes, Gaudí masterpieces
or many visit the Nou Camp Stadium.
Our Mediterranean Adventure Centre
is within a private Acorn zone of a large
Spanish complex, offering excellent facilities
including a large swimming pool, crazy golf,
pizzeria, café/bar, 5 a side football pitch
and open air disco.

The Costa Brava is a 160km stretch
of beautiful, rugged coastline in
the region of Catalonia and is
known for its blue flag beaches,
mountain scenery, tranquil villages
and hot summers.

Our exciting adventure programme in Spain
makes full use of the ocean and combines this nicely
with a bit of culture and fun at the waterpark. On water sport
days you will be based here for the whole day and our staff
will serve lunch `al fresco` on the beach. There will be
opportunities to visit the pretty fishing village of Tossa de Mar
and the waterpark is just 3km away.

Breakfast and dinner is served in the
large on-site canteen that is used to cater
for groups of young people.
There is plenty to choose from to get your group
fuelled for a day of adventure. When down on the beach,
our staff serve lunch to the group `buffet style`,
typically offering a range of baguettes,
salad, fruit, crisps and a drink.
When at the waterpark and visiting Barcelona,
you will be provided with a packed lunch
and for those that want something hot
or additional, there are places to eat within
the waterpark and in Barcelona.
Our Mediterranean Adventure
centre is in a private Acorn zone of the
Cala Llevado complex in the Ardenya
National Park on the Costa Brava.
We carefully selected this complex
because of its close proximity to a
sheltered bay for water sports and its
excellent on-site facilities.
Accommodation is in lockable wooden
en-suite cabins and the excellent facilities
include: large swimming pool, 5 a side
football pitch, crazy golf, open air disco,
pizzeria and cafe/bar.
The wooden cabins sleep between three and
eight people and in order to make your trip easier
to organise, we give all group leaders a plan of
designated cabins before arrival. Throughout
your stay, our team are always on hand to support
you and will entertain your group. Throughout
the night, a member of Acorn staff is on duty.
Because your group cabins are all in one
area and a private Acorn zone, it’s an easy
environment for you to manage and our staff
are all on hand to support you with your group
throughout your stay.

All of our Adventure Camps are regularly
assessed by qualified external auditors, as
well as our own internal Technical Advisors,
ensuring we are always working to the
highest safety standards.
TRAVEL
As part of your package, we organise door to door
coach transportation, which includes travel by executive
coach, return ferry crossing (Dover-Calais), transport
to and from activities & your excursion. Our executive
coaches typically come with comfortable seating,
DVD player, air conditioning and a WC.
We have a strong network of good quality, reliable
coach operators. As members of the School Travel
Forum (STF), our coach operators must conform to
stringent safety standards and are regularly audited
to ensure these high standards are maintained.
