Saudi Economy maintains its
position as the largest in the GCC
Despite the global environment of lower oil prices, the Kingdom maintains its counter-cyclical
economic policy in the 2015 fiscal budget. It continues to highlight the government’s intention
to stimulate the economy. The investment spending to remain elevated at US$ 76 billion in
2015 which will support healthy economic growth and provide encouragement and
opportunities for the private sector at a time of global and regional uncertainty.
The Kingdom remains fundamentally attractive to businesses looking to expand as:
Saudi Arabia is considered the largest economy in the Gulf region.
Saudi Arabia's economic performance remains largely insulated from the recent decline in
international oil prices.
The budget of the year 2015 emphasizes the fiscal position of the Kingdom and its keenness

All the above indicators prove that Saudi Arabia is the largest economy in the Gulf region and

dynamic market. A growth in consumer spending per capita has also created an environment,
which has enabled well-known brands, hypermarket chains and large shopping centers to
expand in the Kingdom.

Foreign Investments
As a market with substantial untapped
potential and a vibrant economy, Saudi
Arabia is extremely attractive to foreign
retailers. Further opportunities are likely to
arise in 2015 with the announcement that the
Kingdom plans to open up its stock market
to international investors, giving them access
to its USD 530 bn bourse.
Many international brands are already present
in the Kingdom, but there is a constant
stream of new entrants.
A combination of favorable demographics,
rising incomes, and strong consumer
confidence and appetite makes the country
one of the most promising growth markets
for retail globally.
Although the local industry has a challenging
operating environment and unique social
dynamics, in both the short and the long
term, the rewards for investment in the sector
should be high.
The Saudi retail market is expanding strongly
due to the shift by consumers to modern
retail outlets, population growth, and the
growth in incomes.

‫ﺍﳌﺘﻮﻗﻊ ﺃﻥ ﺗﺘﻮﻓﺮ ﺍﳌﺰﻳﺪ ﻣﻦ ﻓﺮﺹ ﺍﻻﺳﺘﺜﻤﺎﺭ ﺧﻼﻝ ﻋﺎﻡ‬
‫‪2015‬ﻡ ﻓﻲ ﻇﻞ ﺍﻹﻋﻼﻥ ﻋﻦ ﺧﻄﻂ ﺍﳌﻤﻠﻜﺔ ﻟﻔﺘﺢ ﺳﻮﻕ‬
‫ﺍﻷﺳﻬﻢ ﻟﻠﻤﺴﺘﺜﻤﺮﻳﻦ ﺍﻷﺟﺎﻧﺐ ﳑﺎ ﺳﻴﺘﻴﺢ ﻟﻬﻢ ﺍﻻﺳﺘﺜﻤﺎﺭ‬
‫ﻓﻲ ﺑﻮﺭﺻﺔ ﻳﺘﻌﺪﻯ ﺣﺠﻤﻬﺎ ‪ 530‬ﻣﻠﻴﺎﺭ ﺩﻭﻻﺭ ﺃﻣﺮﻳﻜﻲ‪.‬‬
‫ﺭﻏﻢ ﺗﻮﺍﺟﺪ ﺍﻟﻌﺪﻳﺪ ﻣﻦ ﺍﳌﺎﺭﻛﺎﺕ ﺍﻟﻌﺎﳌﻴﺔ ﺍﻟﺸﻬﻴﺮﺓ ﺍﳌﻌﺮﻭﻓﺔ‬
‫ﻓﻲ ﺃﺳﻮﺍﻕ ﺍﳌﻤﻠﻜﺔ ﻣﻨﺬ ﺳﻨﻮﺍﺕ ﻃﻮﻳﻠﺔ ﺇﻻ ﺃﻥ ﻫﻨﺎﻙ ﺗﺪﻓﻖ‬

‫ﺇﻥ ﺗﻈﺎﻓﺮ ﻋﺪﺓ ﻋﻮﺍﻣﻞ ﺗﺘﻤﺜﻞ ﻓﻲ ﺍﻟﻮﺿﻊ ﺍﻟﺪﳝﻮﻏﺮﺍﻓﻲ‬
‫ﺍﻹﻳﺠﺎﺑﻲ‪ ،‬ﻭﺍﺭﺗﻔﺎﻉ ﻣﺴﺘﻮﻯ ﺍﻟﺪﺧﻞ‪ ،‬ﻭﺛﻘﺔ ﺍﳌﺴﺘﻬﻠﻜﲔ‬

‫ﻭﺍﳌﺘﻐﻴﺮﺓ ﻋﻠﻰ ﺍﳌﺪﻯ ﺍﻟﻘﺮﻳﺐ ﻭﺍﻟﺒﻌﻴﺪ ﺇﻻ ﺃﻥ ﺍﻟﺘﻮﻗﻌﺎﺕ ﺗﺆﻛﺪ‬
