Welcome to the summer issue of
Destinations. Ahead of you are long summer
days and an opportunity to take a welldeserved break in what is often considered
a favourite season for many people. A
holiday in summer means sunny days and
balmy evenings, sandy beaches and leisurely
swims.
Who better to commemorate this splendid
season with than Seven-Time World Surfing
Champion Layne Beachley? As Wyndham
Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific’s proud
Ambassador, Layne wanted to share with you
some of her favourite hot spots on the New
South Wales coast. Read all about these two
exceptional regions - Coffs Harbour and Port
Macquarie - and find out why they have long
been firm favourites for families wishing to
take a beachside break. We are also pleased
to announce that we will be launching
some very special packages this month. If
you have ever wanted to learn how to surf,
the opportunity is coming up! Surf lessons
will be a part of exclusive accommodation
packages at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia
Pacific Marcoola Beach on Queensland’s
Sunshine Coast. More details to come.
For now, take Layne’s advice and spend your
summer break by the beach. There has never
been a better time to book at Coffs Harbour,
with a brand new, purpose built property
designed exclusively for Owners, recently
completed. The property boasts brand

new facilities Owners can enjoy in the new
resort, Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia

There are so many elements that make up a
great holiday and it is often the experiences
that leave you with lasting memories.
That’s why we have dedicated two pages
to uncovering regions across the Asia
Pacific, helping you to discover the very
best of these amazing destinations. Regions
Revealed has been designed to inspire and
guide you on your next journey. In this issue,
read all about the Margaret River region in
Western Australia (page 14). You will also be
able to find your online version of Regions
Revealed on your WorldMark website,
featuring three more regions - Ballarat
in Country Victoria, Seven Mile Beach in
Tasmania and Wanaka in New Zealand’s
South Island.
Having recently returned from a trip to
Wanaka, I wanted to take the opportunity to
share with you the incredible experience I
had visiting this spectacular area. I expected
that Wanaka would be beautiful, but I never
anticipated how taken aback I would be upon
arriving in such stunning surrounds. As the

is about an hour’s drive from Wanaka, I was
treated to spectacular views of serene lakes
surrounded by lush green hills and snow
capped mountains all framed in a perfect
blue sky. The beauty of the Wanaka area is
that it is the perfect holiday destination at
any time of the year. Activities and events
alternate to accommodate every season
and every traveller. It was still somewhat
chilly during my visit, but the warmth of the
crackling log fire, the heated pool and hot
tub and the electric blankets on the oh so
comfortable beds made it all worthwhile.
Now that the weather is warmer, Lake
Wanaka will come to life with an array
of water activities, restaurants will seat
people outside to soak up the sun and locals
and tourists will be enjoying the natural
splendour of Wanaka in summer.
This amazing part of New Zealand is easily
accessible, with an option to fly direct from
Sydney and Brisbane to Queenstown.
Remember, as an Owner, you have the
opportunity to experience these regions for
yourself. Try and do so regularly – there’s
always time to utilise your Vacation Credits
and take a hard-earned break. Check your
account frequently and put any unused

My wife and I have just spent
five weeks overseas in North America,
mainly in Alaska and Canada. It was a
truly amazing trip with great scenery,
lovely people and great weather all
the way. We were privileged to stay in
WorldMark Resorts most of the time.
These included resorts at Las Vegas, San

Banff Canmore and finally, Sydney. All
resorts met or exceeded our expectations

Welcome Break for Black Saturday Survivors
WorldMark South Pacific Club
Owners Stephen and Lorraine O’Dell
were treated to a welcome break in
Ballarat, following many months of
hardship. The O’Dell’s lost their entire
property in the Black Saturday fires
that swept through Country Victoria on
February 7.
“We really enjoyed our stay in Ballarat. We
stayed there with two of our close friends,
Neville and Jean. They have been very
supportive of us since our property was
destroyed by the fires, helping us rebuild
our barn while we wait for plans to begin
on the house,” Stephen said.
Thanks to the generous donations of
WorldMark South Pacific Club Owners
and the Developer of the Club, Wyndham
Flying High - the VIP Way!
Ten Owner couples got to see the
Gold Coast from one of the best views
possible – on a hot air balloon! This special
VIP Event was incredibly popular, with
Owners bringing along five other couples to
enjoy the experience.
The group was treated to a welcome party
at the superb restaurant, Le Monde Kirra,
before heading off on an unforgettable
hot air balloon ride over the Gold Coast
hinterland. The views were exceptional and
while there was slight fog in the morning,
the conditions turned out to be just right.
Then it was on to O’Reilly’s Canungra Valley
Vineyards for a hot breakfast followed
by wine tasting. This five-day event was
topped off with a dinner party back at Le
Monde Kirra.
Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific, more than
a year’s worth of holiday accommodation
was raised for the appeal. The donation of
respite accommodation has certainly been
well received by those who need it most.
Stephen recounted some of that tragic
day: “We made preparations to evacuate
when we heard that a fire had started at
Yarra Glen, which is about eight minutes
up the road by car from us. We thought
our property would be safe because we’re
on acreage and there are hardly any
trees or bushes nearby, but as we were
packing the car I looked up and the tops
of the trees were on fire. We drove down
the main road and the fires were coming
from three different directions. There was
a traffic jam because everyone was trying
There was plenty to celebrate, with Owner
Ted Purcell commemorating his 60th

wife Jo also attended the Sydney Harbour

Friends First by Wyndham – Program Update
Friends First by Wyndham is designed exclusively for WorldMark South Pacific Club Owners.
Friends First gives you the opportunity to share the joy of your WorldMark South Pacific
Club Ownership with your friends, while at the same time earning Friends First Bonus
Vacation Credits for yourself.
Effective from 16 November 2009 ‘Condition 2’ of the program will be amended to:
‘WorldMark South Pacific Club is designed for married couples and singles between the ages
of 25-72 who have a minimum combined income of AUD$55,000 per annum (Australian
residents) or NZ$55,000 (New Zealand residents) and who are permanent residents of
Australia, New Zealand or Fiji. Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific appreciates you
referring eligible potential Owners, however non-eligible referrals may result in your
exclusion from the Friends First by Wyndham program.’
to get to a safe zone,” he said. It has been
a long and arduous journey since then,
with many people still in the process of
rebuilding their homes and relying on
support from friends and family to keep
them accommodated. “We were staying
with former neighbours initially, and then
we moved into our son’s house before
we rebuilt the barn and got back to our
property,” Stephen said.
The O’Dell’s were particularly happy to
spend time at WorldMark South Pacific
Club by Wyndham Ballarat, a destination
they have frequented as Owners. “We
had a great time, it was very relaxing. We
always enjoy Ballarat - we love the place.”
Thank you once again to all those who
donated Vacation Credits to the appeal.
Thailand Update
Since being announced in 2008,
construction of Pantipa Spa Villa & Resort,
Phuket, Thailand has progressed slower
than expected. This is due to the resort
developer experiencing challenges in
raising capital to complete the development.
Provided the resort’s developer is able
to secure ongoing funding, the resort is
anticipated to be completed in the second
quarter of 2010. However, the second part
of the proposed development, which was
to be vacation ownership units, will not
proceed as originally planned, due to these
same challenges.
Accordingly, Wyndham Vacation Resorts
Asia Pacific no longer has any formal
arrangement with the Thailand project.
However, when the resort is completed,
we will endeavour to negotiate with the
management of the resort to have rooms
available for WorldMark South Pacific Club
Owners via the Associate Resort program.
We will continue to keep Owners abreast
of project updates. An announcement to
WorldMark South Pacific Club Owners
will be made when the resort is available
for booking.

Take a short break, not far from home. Above Left: Pokolbin Hill in the Hunter Valley. Above: Queensland’s Gold Coast
From Sydney city to New Zealand’s
South Island, from Country Victoria to
Queensland’s sunny Gold Coast, WorldMark
South Pacific Club by Wyndham resorts
are diverse in location and experience.
Your Vacation Credits allow you to fully
appreciate your Ownership with WorldMark
South Pacific Club, and the many resorts
that are available to you within the Club.
Credits are part of a well-designed system
that give you the freedom and flexibility
to enjoy frequent holidays. We always
encourage you to take time out for holidays
on a regular basis and utilise Credits within
their two-year lifespan. If however, you find
yourself unable to, and your Credits are
about to expire, you still have plenty
of options to make the most out of
your Credits.
You will be notified via email/letter within
30 days prior to your Credits expiring. Each
year, during your Anniversary Month, your
WorldMark South Pacific Club Account
is again credited with the full number of
Vacation Credits you own. Any unused
Credits will expire on the last day of your
Anniversary Month – but you can still utilise
any unused Credits and continue to make
the most of your Vacation Ownership before
they expire. Here are some suggestions*:
Option 1: Book a holiday during White and
Blue Season. Booking during these seasons
requires less Credits, so depending on what
you have, you may be able to book a holiday
13 months in advance and use up your
expiring Credits.
Option 2: Book a ‘short break’ (within 60
days). If you have at least 1,000 Credits
available, you may be able to book a short
break (one-two nights) in most WorldMark
South Pacific Club Resorts.
Option 3: Purchase One-Time Credits at a
cash rate to combine with your remaining
Credits. One-Time Credits will assist you to
book the holiday you desire by ‘topping up’
your remaining Vacation Credits.
Option 4: Utilise our affiliated exchange
companies. If you are looking to travel
beyond the options available within
WorldMark South Pacific Club, WorldMark,
The Club or Associate Resorts, consider
exchanging your Credits with RCI or ICEˆ.
You have 24 months to plan a holiday after
your exchange date!
Option 5: Credits make a great gift to
family and friends. Treat them to a holiday
and share the experience! Either call Owner
Services or simply make a booking on their
behalf by going online and following the
prompts under ‘Online Reservations’.
The most important thing to remember
is there is always an option to use your
Credits effectively - and the best way is
to book a holiday! That way, you will have
time to plan around your holiday, make
any changes necessary to your booking at
any time, and most importantly avoid any
expiring Credits!
Should you receive a Credit expiration
email/letter, follow the prompts to discover
how many Credits are expiring and what
you can do with them.
To check your account visit:

Last but not least, make the most of your

Layne Beachley tells us why the
New South Wales Coast should be on
every beach-lover’s list …
“The New South Wales coastline
is spectacular. Whether you’re an avid
surfer or you simply like to appreciate a
calm ocean on a clear summer’s day, this
beautiful part of Australia accommodates
every traveller.”
If there is one thing Layne Beachley knows
all about, it’s surfing. The Seven-Time World
Surfing Champion and Ambassador of
Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific has
plenty of favourite coastal hot spots around
Australia, but says Port Macquarie and
Coffs Harbour are a must for anyone who
loves sun, surf and sand.
Come summer, these picturesque
beachside towns are a holidaymaker’s
heaven. Sunbathe on the stunning beaches,
jet boat on the beautiful waterways, cruise
8
chasing the waves
down the river and dine in restaurants with
ocean views. And that’s just the start. You
can truly appreciate the warm weather and
enjoy carefree summer activities in this
part of New South Wales.
Port Macquarie has long been a favourite
holiday destination for families wishing to
take a memorable summer vacation. “Port
Macquarie is a beautiful town with a really
relaxed beach culture and friendly locals.
The beaches are simply superb - Port
Macquarie has beaches that everyone can
enjoy,” Layne says.
Layne suggests heading to Lighthouse
Beach or Town Beach for the best surfing
spots in Port Macquarie. For a more familyfriendly beach, Flynns Beach is the ideal
place to go - the waters are generally more
tranquil for those who prefer calmer waters.
Enjoy the golden sands, indulge in some fun
by the water’s edge and dedicate an entire
day to the beach. To really appreciate Port
Macquarie’s waterways, why not take a day
trip to beautiful Pelican Island and spot
dolphins along the way? Or cruise down
The Hastings River and make the most out
of the serene weather and diverse marine
wildlife? There is a variety of cruise options
available that are well within budget. Cruise
Adventures offers everything from short
cruises with a buffet lunch included, to
longer cruises offering gourmet morning
teas. The Sunset Cruise is also a popular
choice – head down The Hastings River
just as the sun is setting, casting pink and
orange hues across the water.
For dining in the area, one of the most
popular cafés is located right on Flynns
Beach: Purno’s on the Beach. This
comfortable beachside café boasts the best
views in Port Macquarie and is a favourite
for locals and tourists. Either start your
day there with a delicious breakfast before
hitting the sands, or stop in for lunch. Blue
Water Bar & Grill, just 200 metres from
Flynns Beach, is yet another local hot spot.
Come Sunday night, diners are treated to

live acoustic music, fabulous food and a
vibrant atmosphere. Locals also recommend
Poco Loco for a delicious Mexican dining
experience. The combination of authentic
Mexican food (everything from Fajitas,
Burritos and Enchiladas) to gourmet
woodfired pizzas, is definitely a treat after a
hard day in the surf!
“Coffs Harbour can be a magical
place. It’s ideal for a seaside
break, with fantastic beaches and
a serene portside atmosphere.
There is plenty to do at Coffs
Harbour, other than taking in the
beauty of the coastlines!”
If you want to try your hand at surfing,
then head to Gallows or Macauley’s Beach.
The beaches are superb and the waves are
hard to resist! Families tend to head to the
Jetty or Diggers Beach for a day out in the
sun. Stretch out on the soft sands, take
a dip in the surf or sit back and view the
ocean’s horizon in the distance. Visitors
also recommend taking a day trip to
Muttonbird Island Nature Reserve, the most
significant Muttonbird site in New South
Wales. The reserve is also an important
Aboriginal site, associated with a moving
dreamtime story of the moon falling into
the sea. Discover walking tracks between
the fragile burrows of the Muttonbird or
head to the viewing platform at the eastern
end and absorb the magnificent views
of Solitary Islands Marine Park - another
spectacular natural attraction of this area.
Upon your return you may have quite
an appetite – visit Coffs Harbour’s Jetty
Strip and select one of the many cafés
and restaurants available in this popular
spot. Fisherman’s Co-op, centrally located
in the Marina, has a reputation as the
best fish ‘n’ chips in the area. Spend an
evening at the Tahruah Thai Restaurant,
specialising in cuisine predominantly from
East Thailand, or stop in at Mangrove
Jack’s, nestled on Coffs Creek with views
of the water. Have dinner on the verandah
and enjoy everything from oysters, braised
lamb shanks and beer battered barramundi
before heading back to your resort and
calling it a day!

Still waters, incandescent lights,
a gentle breeze and a bright moon. Fiji is
a place where anything can happen. The
balmy weather, splendid natural scenery,
exotic surrounds and serene ambience of
the island seeps into your skin, enchanting
your senses and leaving you wanting more.
Fiji is a place where you can fall in love, all
over again.
It’s always the small things you remember
when you take a romantic break with your
loved one. The way the palm trees swayed
overhead as you and your partner enjoyed
a platter of fruit in the sun. A hand to hold
as you walked towards the water, letting
the gentle waves lap at your feet. The
candle casting a warm glow in the middle
of the table. Looking up at a starry night
and listening to the sounds of the crashing
waves in the distance. There is so much to
experience in Fiji, and most importantly, you
experience it together. Set off and explore
the stunning islands on a long day cruise,
dive into the turquoise waters of the ocean
and swim for hours, lounge on the beach
soaking up the sun’s rays, and trek through
lush green rainforests.
As evening approaches, attend an
unforgettable Fijian fire dance, sip on
cocktails in a secluded oasis or enjoy an
authentic Fijian dinner. Fiji’s true magic lies
in its people and the captivating blend of
their diverse cultures. Simply appreciate the
utter beauty of Fiji – and its gracious people
- and let the island cast a spell over you.
Closer to home, the Great Barrier Reef is
the ultimate romantic getaway. Tropical
temperatures, sun, sand and the exquisite
ocean, make this one holiday you will
both never forget. A stay in Tropical North
Queensland means experiencing the aweinspiring beauty of the Great Barrier Reef,
and the amazing marine life that inhabits
it. Out of all the memories you take home
with you, seeing your first school of brightly
coloured fish swim past you will no doubt
be one of the highlights. The clear waters,
hot sands, blue skies and glorious summer
weather are the perfect combination for a
dreamy tropical break. Many lose hours to
the Great Barrier Reef and its other-worldly
inhabitants, forgetting themselves while
snorkelling in the warm waters, swimming
above beautiful coral and watching the
amazing species of fish darting this way
and that ... and if you want to spend a day a
little ‘drier’, hop on board a boat and set off
on a relaxing cruise, with a beautiful lunch
and glass of wine waiting for you on deck.
Let the cares of the world drift away and
spend a special part of summer with the
one you love, enjoying all the magical
moments along the way.

THE Margaret River
What is it you look for when you
choose a holiday destination? Is it an
inspiring landscape? A place where you will
find plenty of activity and action? A cultural
hub where you can indulge in the region’s
specialties and gourmet delights? Or perhaps
a secluded area, where you can simply
relax and lose yourself in Mother Nature’s
wonders?
The Margaret River in Western Australia is
a place that is soaked in culture, character
and activity. It is a place where you will find
all these elements, and more. The diversity
of the landscape, the plethora of attractions
and the unique experiences make this region
more than a holiday. It is a place where
memories are made. From exploring the
region’s bounty of vineyards and wineries,
14
regions revealed
to trekking deep inside fascinating caves, or
catching a break in the surf, this region is
truly spectacular.
The coast is the perfect place to start. This
part of the Indian Ocean is a surfing haven,
offering clean waters, powerful ground swells
and consistent ocean temperature all year
round. For years dedicated surfers from all
over the world have flocked to this region
to enjoy the high-quality surf. Whether you
are an apprentice or an experienced surfer,
the beaches in this part of Australia will
inspire you to hit the water. Snorkel, dive, or
simply enjoy a boat cruise. If you are staying
between June and September, the pristine
waters become a sheltered passage for
one of the most majestic creatures of the
ocean. Whales flock to the warmer waters of
Flinders Bay (Augusta), and whale-watchers
usually spot the Humpback and Southern
Right whales on their journey. With plenty
of whale-watching cruises available at this
time of the year, don’t miss your chance to
glimpse these amazing marine mammals
frolicking, playing and breaching in the
waters.
On dry land, the Margaret River is a
playground of natural wonders. Explore the
area and take a trip to Meelup, Eagle Bay
and Bunker Bay, and on your journey witness
the stunning coasts from a distance, or head
towards the pristine bush land and majestic
forests. The caves of this region are one of
the most popular tourist attractions. Venture
into the Ngilgi Cave, made up of beautiful
stalagmite and stalactite formations, and

learn of its evocative association with a rich
Aboriginal legend about a battle between a
good spirit (Ngilgi) and an evil one (Wolgine).
Mammoth Cave in Karri Forest is an imposing
and extraordinary gothic-like natural wonder.
This cave holds the secrets to the region’s
past, with paleontologists discovering fossils
and extinct animal bones. Lake Cave is yet
another magnificent cave in the Witchcliffe
area, adorned with exquisite crystal
formations. Lake Cave is most famous for a
gravity defying crystal ‘Suspended Table’: A
massive column of calcite weighing in excess
of five tonnes that appears to resist gravity
and hang centimetres above the lake.
Of course, The Margaret River region has
established itself as one of the best-loved
winery regions in Australia, and a visit to one
of its superb wineries is essential. It is not
only the serene beauty of the vineyards and
native wilderness that makes the experience
worthwhile, but the fine variety of wines
and delicious range of regional produce.
The first vines were planted only 40 years
ago, however the region already boasts 200
vineyards; with the Cabernet, Sauvignon
Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Semillon
receiving global acclaim and attracting
visitors from all over the world. Brookland
Valley Estate is situated right in the heart
of the Margaret River and is particularly
renowned for wines that showcase unique
regional characteristics. Knee Deep Wines
produces premium wine from a picturesque
estate, and Leeuwin Estate, a boutique,
family-owned and operated winery, is
earning an international reputation for wines
that rank among the finest worldwide. The
high standards of wine-makers is matched
only by the award-winning chefs, recognised
for using the best local produce to create
delicious and contemporary cuisines. In
fact, dining out in the Margaret River is
an exceptional culinary experience. Toby’s
Restaurant & Bar offers the finest local
ingredients and superior Margaret River
wines in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Another popular hot spot is Bunkers Beach
Café - a stylish café with views of the pristine
waters of Bunker Bay, or for something
different book an evening at Indigo Pearl
Brasserie and enjoy the tempting selection
of North Indian dishes, complemented
by the warm and exotic surrounds of this
impressive restaurant.
There is no doubt you will discover your own
part of the Margaret River, and make your
own memories in this stunning region. Its
well-renowned vineyards, culinary excellence
and wondrous natural beauty is truly a once
in a lifetime experience.

Samantha Chan
Front Office Manager at Wyndham Vacation Resorts Asia Pacific Seven Mile Beach
“I fell in love with the place.
It’s just beautiful here. I don’t think I
could ever go back to living in a big city,”
Samantha says.
It’s easy to do the first time you set foot
in Tasmania. For Samantha, Front Office
Manager at our Seven Mile Beach resort,
she found herself utterly enchanted by
the region. The fact that her partner lived
in Tasmania, and had just proposed, may
have contributed to Samantha’s love of her
newfound home!
“My husband Scott and I met when we
were both working in Whistler, Canada. He
moved back to Tasmania and I stayed. For
six years we maintained a long distance
relationship … until he proposed!”
Scott popped the question by taking
Samantha to Cradle Mountain – a truly
amazing mountain in the Cradle MountainLake St Clair National Park that rises to
1,545 metres above sea level. The area will
always be special for Samantha and her
husband, but she says there is so much
more of Tasmania to appreciate.
“The natural beauty of Tasmania
is amazing. From our home we
have a view of Frederick Henry
Bay, with beautiful Tasman
Peninsula hills in the distance.”
“The entire landscape of Tasmania reminds
me a lot of British Columbia. Being so
close to nature and stunning scenery is
something I really value now,” she says.
For someone who grew up in Toronto,
Canada, Tasmania would seem small in
comparison. But now Samantha wouldn’t
have it any other way. After spending time
working for corporate giant American
Express, Samantha moved to Whistler,
Canada, to start her career in hospitality. It
was there that she met her future husband
and got her start at the front office.
“I had a series of jobs at the Westin Resort
and Spa, starting out at Front Desk, then
to Duty Manager, a few things in between,
and finally to Front Office Manager. The
18
15 minutes with…
best thing about working in Whistler was
definitely the snow boarding!”
Samantha and her husband still enjoy
getting outdoors and taking advantage
of Tasmania’s natural wonders. In fact,
Samantha has no trouble recommending
various activities and attractions to
Owners when they first arrive.
“Seven Mile Beach is beautiful. Take a
morning beach walk, or find a lake, go
fishing and catch some flathead – an
incredibly sweet tasting fish. We also
visit the markets regularly, either the
Salamanca Markets or Sorrel Markets
to pick up fresh produce and summer
plants for the garden at home.”
Samantha was recently inspired by the
native gardens that surround the Seven
Mile Beach resort.
“The gardens at the resort are just
incredible. We’re trying to replicate them
at home because the conditions
for these native plants are just
perfect.”
When Samantha is not busy
attending to her garden
and spending time with
her husband, she is
happily greeting Owners
and guests arriving at
Seven Mile Beach.
“The best part of my
job is the people I work
with and the Owners
that I meet. I’ve found
the biggest impact in
a work environment is
the people around you.
When you work in the
hospitality industry,
you discover these
people are the
most fun!”

SUNSHINE COAST
A beachside break the whole family can enjoy …
Sunshine, golden sands,
sparkling surf, lush hinterland,
cosmopolitan delights and much more you’ll find it all on Queensland’s Sunshine
Coast. The region offers the perfect mix of
coast and country, action and relaxation
for adults and kids.
Drive an hour north of Brisbane and
you’re already at Caloundra - the entrance
to the Sunshine Coast. Located on the
scenic Pumicestone Passage, this lovely
beachside town boasts both calm waters
and ideal surf for families wishing to spend
a day cooling off in the waters. Then a little
further north along this pristine coastline
and you’re at Mooloolaba - a great spot for
doing as much or as little as you want. Sip
coffee at one of the many cafés along the
esplanade and enjoy views of the rolling
surf, shop at one of the elegant boutiques,
enjoy a scrumptious meal at one of the
restaurants or spend an evening at a local
bar and soak up the lively atmosphere of
this popular seaside town.
The kids might want to experience
saltwater creatures up-close-and-personal
at Underwater World, in the heart of
Mooloolaba. Spend a day entertaining
them with the turtles, sharks and seals!
From Mooloolaba head to the hinterland
towards Maleny and Montville, enjoy the
picturesque scenery of the Blackall Range
and the Glasshouse Mountains. Australia
Zoo is in this area - a wildlife adventure
park with everything from crocodiles and
snakes, to elephants and koalas.
Visit a Cheese Factory or the famous
Ginger Factory nearby, or tour a winery
and indulge in a day of wine tasting
and gourmet treats. Take brisk walks
in the lush rainforests and admire the
splendid views from the many lookouts.
Alternatively, go hiking - there is an
abundance of tracks you can take.
Back to the coast and this time drive
to Marcoola, a quiet but centrally
located Sunshine Coast town with
golden sands and excellent surf.
The Maroochy area offers many
famous surf beaches, endless fishing
opportunities and perfect conditions
for cruises.
Just half an hour’s drive north, you’ll
get to Noosa. There, you can enjoy the
café scene and upmarket boutiques of
Hastings Street, you can swim at one of
Noosa’s beautiful beaches or go for a
leisurely walk in the national park – you
may even spot a koala in one of the
gum trees!
“Take brisk walks in the lush
rainforests and admire the
splendid views”
If you feel like wandering the markets head
to the world-famous Eumundi Market on
a Wednesday or Saturday for craft stalls,
music and local produce. Much of the
town’s architecture dates back to the late
nineteenth and early twentieth century,
giving you the opportunity to step back
in time and appreciate the well-preserved
architectural landscape. Upon calling it a
day, relax with an Eumundi beverage
in hand and some good old fashioned
pub food.
The Sunshine Coast is rich with so much
natural beauty, adventure and action.
You can choose to completely relax and
ponder life’s wonders or get moving and
busy yourself with a wide selection of fun
and interesting activities. Whatever you
choose, this sunny strip of Queensland will
certainly appeal to the entire family!
