Paula Pass Promoted to Director of Operations
Welcome to the end of another year and what a year it has been! So many
noteworthy things have occurred economically, governmentally, and historically.
We have seen the Stock Market rally and break records. We have witnessed the
historic Affordable Health Care rollout. We have commemorated the 50th
anniversary of John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
Another important and noteworthy milestone that occurred in 2013 at Hill & Hill
Financial is the recent promotion of Paula Pass from Client Relationship Manager
to Director of Operations.
As many of you know, Paula joined our team in the spring of 2012 and from the first
day we knew we had a team member who shared our values and would care about
our clients and our work ethic as much as we do.

Since joining Hill & Hill Financial, Paula has improved many of our internal
systems and procedures and spent a lot of time becoming familiar with our client
base, products and vendors. Additionally, Paula spent much of her free time over the summer months studying and
researching so that she could attain her goal of becoming an Investment Advisor Representative as well as a Registered
Representative. What this means in simple and practical terms is Paula is licensed to assist me with a full array of
investment issues.
Paula’s duties still include that of a Client Relationship Manager, overseeing and caring for the client base of Hill & Hill.
However, her responsibilities have expanded to include assisting me with short and long term strategic planning,
functional efficiencies in communication and research and development. Holly and I are pleased to have Paula Pass as a
key team member and appreciate her natural talents, professionalism and desire to continue the Hill & Hill legacy of

According to Wikipedia online, a best practice is a method or technique that has
consistently shown results superior to those achieved with other means, and that
is used as a benchmark. In addition, a best practice can evolve to become better
as improvements are discovered.
The Oxford Dictionary online describes a best practice this way: noun commercial or professional procedures that are accepted or prescribed as being
correct or most effective.
No matter how you say it, a best practice is something that all businesses should
strive to achieve in all areas of management. Here at Hill & Hill Financial, we
too try to apply best practices to all that we do. Of course we are only human
and once in a while we may find an opportunity to improve our standards and
procedures.
From the moment Morgan Hill formed Hill & Hill Financial, he and I both decided the best way to grow a successful
company, was to not only remain committed to the highest standards available to us in the way of products, personnel and
systems, but also to include compassion and care as well. After all, we are not just managing people’s portfolio’s, we are
helping families achieve their goals for their future and many times for their families future as well. Behind every
account number there is a person that we know personally.
As we wrap up 2013 and head into 2014, we will be taking time to rest, recharge and enjoy family and friends just like
everyone else. But we will also be looking at how we can continue to enhance our systems and operations so that we can
