Use the meeting to determine how you will transition your responsibilities while you’re away from work caring for your baby. Select your free Graco® baby product You’ll need many new items when welcoming home a baby, and we want to help. Once you enroll in the Future Moms program, you’ll receive information on how to place your order through the HRSC for a free item from Graco. You can choose anything from high chairs, strollers, swings and other popular baby gear. You also have access to discounts on other Graco products through the Employee Purchase program. Schedule a dental checkup It’s a good idea to schedule a dental visit during your second trimester because you’re more prone to gingivitis and gum problems during pregnancy. Remember, a third dental cleaning is covered 100% in-network for individuals enrolled in the Delta Dental Plan and the Future Moms program. Don’t have a dentist? If you are enrolled in the Newell Rubbermaid dental plan, download the Delta Dental app or visit DeltaDentalins.com/NWL to find a dentist in the “Delta Dental PPO” network. Research your leave benefits Your short-term disability (STD) benefit supplements a portion of your salary for an approved maternity leave. The length of your STD benefits will be determined by your doctor (typically six weeks for natural delivery or eight weeks for Caesarean delivery). If you qualify for the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), it guarantees up to 12 weeks of unpaid leave, with your same, or a similar, position available when you return. STD and FMLA run at the same time. Be sure you notify the Human Resources Service Center (HRSC) at 1-877-467-4772 in advance of your leave. Report your future absence When you’ve talked to your manager and have decided how much time you’ll be taking off, be sure to report your upcoming maternity leave by calling the HRSC at 1-877-467-4772, or going online to my.NewellRubbermaid.com > Employee Connection > Report an Absence. Get a breast pump Breast pumps are covered by the Newell Rubbermaid medical plan, but coverage can vary by state. So contact Member Services at 1-844-736-4439 to help you find an in-network durable medical equipment (DME) provider based on the state you live in. Then you can work with the provider to place the order, with the costs covered by the Newell Rubbermaid medical plan. This is a perfect time to cover any postpartum or newborn baby care questions you have. This call completes your program successfully so you can earn your reward under the Future Moms program. Schedule a six-week postpartum checkup About six weeks after delivering your baby, it’s important to see a doctor for a checkup. It will give the doctor a chance to make sure you’re recovering, both physically and emotionally. If you have questions about birth control options or are suffering from any mood swings that might indicate postpartum depression, this is a good time to bring it up. Keep in mind resources like your Anthem Health Guide and your Work-Life Support Program You don’t have to navigate the first few months of motherhood alone. Contact HealthEquity at 1-877-713-7712 if you have any questions about the reimbursement process. Enrolled in the Daycare FSA before maternity leave? Important details about Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (Flex) The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) only allows reimbursement for dependent care expenses incurred in order to allow you and your spouse to be gainfully employed. The IRS does not consider expenses incurred during a leave to be expenses to allow you to be gainfully employed. Therefore, if you were enrolled in the Dependent Care Flex prior to your leave, you will not be permitted reimbursement for any dependent care expenses incurred while on leave. Your participation in — and your contributions to — the Dependent Care Flex will stop on the first day of your leave. You may re-enroll in the plan when you return to active employment by contacting the HRSC at 1-877-467-4772 within 30 days of the date you return to work. If you do not call the HRSC to request re-enrollment within 30 days, you will not be allowed to re-enroll for the remainder of the calendar year unless you experience a life event such as the birth of a child that would again allow you to join the Dependent Care Flex. You would, however, be able to enroll during Open Enrollment for the next calendar year. It is also important to know if you do not plan to re-enroll when you return to work, you have 90 days from the first day of your leave to file for reimbursement for services received prior to your leave.
