For this ambitious young man, that eventually was not enough. When Maurice talked about art and expressed interest in assisting with the art classes, the staff at CAU encouraged him to use his talents to teach and instruct others. Now Maurice’s monthly classes are well attended by members of CAU and the community who enjoy working with different art forms like Maurice does. Once nervous about teaching, Maurice now thrives as a teacher and mentor for other budding artists in his classes. Members in Maurice’s classes are learning new drawing techniques and he hopes they can apply at home and continue to spark their future artwork. In his own development as an artist, Maurice likes to experiment with different mediums such as drawing with pencils, color pencils, markers, oil pastels and most recently, water based paint. He most enjoys working with oil pastels because he can mix and make different colors. He expressed that in his new role, he feels important and really enjoys teaching. He feels a lot more confident about his abilities in teaching and gains a great sense of accomplishment by seeing his artwork evolve as he learns and teaches more. When not creating artwork, Maurice co‐hosts a talk show on YouTube named, “Maurice & Joe Talk Show.” Equipped with a new camera, the pair will be posting new interviews very soon. Maurice is taking steps to create a Facebook page for the show and is also working on a documentary of himself via audio, video and pictures. 
