Yle´s duties (Act on Yleisradio Oy)
The public service broadcasting shall in particular:

6. promote cultural interaction and provide programming directed
abroad;
7. broadcast official announcements (exceptional circumstances).

Financing of Yle
• An individual income-based tax of 51–143 euros
• 0.68 per cent of a taxpayer's total earned and capital
income
• will not be collected if annual income is below 7,500 euros
• reduced tax for over one million Finns
• The amount of tax for businesses and other taxable
entities is based on their taxable income
• if the annual taxable income exceeds 50,000 euros the tax
will be 140 euros. Maximum tax is 3,000 per year
• Year 2015 Yle receives 461.8 million euros after taxes
• funds are transfered to the State Television and Radio Fund,
then to Yle
