FOREWORD
The attendance figures for the OFC O-League 2008 has shown that the O-League continues to grow in popularity.
The 20,000 fans that paid to witness Kossa FC beat Waitakere United at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara is testimony to the strength and appeal of the new format.
Television has supported the OFC O-League concept well with the OFC O-League Final broadcast by Fiji TV through
its Sky Pacific network to viewers throughout Oceania. Sky Television New Zealand broadcast the OFC O-League
2nd leg with a crowd of 6,000 turning up at Trust Stadium, Henderson to witness Waitakere United win the competition on aggregate with an exciting 5-0 win over Kossa.
The potential of the OFC O-League to reach out and touch football fans throughout Oceania is broad and exciting
and this seasons cumulative attendance figure of 80,000 fans, is likely to increase with the upcoming season.
The marketing potential of the O-League is something that certain member associations have seized upon and, as
television continues to grow and develop, I am sure we will see positive steps taken toward nurturing this as yet unrequited relationship for football, television and marketing partners.
As ever, on the pitch our long term aim is to see the OFC O-League winner perform credibly at the FIFA Club World
Cup - no easy task certainly - but a worthy goal nonetheless.
Finally I extend thanks and appreciation to each of the OFC member associations, clubs, club volunteers and football
fans that supported this brave innovative tournament is boundless.
Yours in football

MEDIA AND MARKETING
The 2008 OFC O-League was a breakout year for media and marketing with a record breaking cumulative attendance figure of 80,000 spectators culminating in two finals both broadcast live across television,
radio and internet.
Live text updates were provided for all 12 group games through the OFC website
www.oceaniafootball.com with a wide and diverse audience commentating on proceedings through the
websites comment box. The comment section provided interaction between different fans and countries
and helped generate discussion and media interest in local communities.
Radio coverage played a big part in getting information to the masses in this years competition with
nearly all games broadcast on the airwaves.
Tafea FC had their home games broadcast live by Vanuatu correspondents Harry Attison and Moses Stevens on www.fm107vanuatu.com. Ba provided commentary for their matches through the subscription
website Fiji live with Raymond Stoddard calling the games at www.fijivillage.com.
In group A New Zealand and Waitakere received live radio updates from Andrew Dewhurst on radio
sport.
In the Solomon Islands live radio broadcasts of Kossa FC matches were made throughout the country on
1035MW/ 5020SW/96.3FM with Bart Basia providing the commentary.
OFC Media and Communication Officer Steven Holloway moderated a press conference prior to the OFC
1st Leg Final between Kossa FC and Waitakere United in Honiara. Over 30 journalists from print, television and produced great coverage in the build up to the game.
One News Limited Television provided delayed television coverage for all Kossa FC games at Lawson
Tama Stadium and came on board to provide live coverage of the first leg of the OFC Final between
Kossa FC and Waitakere United.
A three man camera crew and switcher provided the first ever live coverage of a football match from
Lawson Tama stadium, and the ability of the crew to capture the emotions of Kossa’s victory in front of a
packed crowd of over 20,000 went a long way to developing the image and interest of the O-League.
The return leg at the Trusts Stadium in Henderson was broadcast live throughout New Zealand on Sky TV,
through internet updates and on radio with Andrew Dewhurst giving live commentary on radio sport.
The match was also broadcast live via Fiji’s Sky Pacific Network in the Solomon Islands and Fiji with delayed coverage in Papua New Guinea.
6
MEDIA AND MARKETING
OFC also flew Solomon Island broadcaster Bart Basia
to provide live audio to the thousands of interested fans
listening via radio in the Solomon Islands.
Sky Television New Zealand’s “World of Football” show
hosted by Dennis Katsanos and Fred De Jong made a
commitment to both the New Zealand Football Championship (NZFC) and OFC O-League showing brief highlights and discussing important points as the OFC OLeague took shape.
As ever, coverage of OFC and OFC O-League matches
in New Zealand was met with difficulty. Prohibitive
costs, general indifference of local broadcasters to cover the matches of Auckland City FC and Waitakere
United meant that internet sites such as www.nzfootball.co.nz and www.oceaniafootball.com were relied
upon to provide details such as results, team line-ups, previews and wraps.
Media accreditation was a combined responsibility between OFC Media and Communications and the
host member association where practicable. For the OFC O-League Final 2nd Leg, OFC ran the media
accreditation system that saw live coverage of the match delivered by two radio stations - Radio Sport
(New Zealand) and Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation (SIBC)- with twelve accredited print journalists from two countries, twelve photographers (including a contingent of press from Japan) alongside
regular live text updates at www.oceaniafootball.com and www.nzfootball.co.nz
The cumulative attendance figures for the OFC O-League revealed the wisdom of changing the tournament format with the OFC O-League Final 1st Leg drawing a sell-out crowd of 20,000 fans.
The OFC O-League Final 2nd Leg held at Trusts Stadium in Henderson drew 5,000 fans with Waitakere
providing thousands of free tickets children, senior citizens and football players alike .
Approximately 50,000 fans attended matches in OFC O-League Group B matches highlighting the popularity of football in the Oceania region, particularly in Fiji and Solomon Islands where the highest concentration of supporters were located.
By contrast attendance for matches in Group A were modest with Waitakere United drawing just 500
fans to its 2-1 win over AS Manu Ura (on a Wednesday evening during a ‘work day’ at a difficult to access venue).
Auckland City FC fared better with approximately 3,000 fans attending its two home matches at the
Croatian Club in Henderson.
Media facilities at stadiums of participating clubs were rudimentary at best although Trusts Stadium, The
Croatian Club, Lawson Tama Stadium and Stade Paea each possess potential to be further developed.
Ba’s Govind Park is perhaps the least media friendly venue of the six used.

TELEVISION
Tahiti Nui Television (TNTV) covered the 2005 OFC Club Championship held in Papeete
Coverage of the O-League on television has increased from virtually nil in 2006 to four live matches in
2007, including both legs of the Final between Ba and Waitakere United according to statistics made
available to OFC Media and Communication by regional broadcaster Fiji TV.
In 2008, the number of matches broadcast increased again at a local level with VBTC (Vanuatu) and One
News Television (Solomon Islands) developing their own unique coverage of matches involving their representative clubs. One News Television covered all three of Kossa FC’s O-League matches and VBTC covered the match between Tafea FC and Ba.
Sky Television (New Zealand) continues to broadcast the first leg of the O-League Final live to a regional
audience in conjunction with Fiji TV and provides highlights packages of O-League group matches involving Auckland City FC and champions Waitakere United on an intermittent basis.
The rudimentary development of the pre and post-match press conference has become a familiar feature
in Fiji, Solomon Islands, Tahiti and New Zealand but has yet to catch on as a media tool by local broadcasters and federations in Vanuatu.
The 2008 O-League Final 2nd Leg was broadcast live in eight countries and included American Samoa,
Cook Islands, Fiji, Niue, Papua New Guinea, New Zealand, Solomon Islands and Samoa.

TELEVISION
For the effective growth of the O-League into a commercial media property for the OFC a coordinated
strategic approach is required. The OFC O-League has proved an increasingly popular OFC competition
and the viewing figures and attendances for the past two finals suggest that it is ready to be taken to the
next level.
To achieve this, a marketing strategy that integrates with the current OFC media strategy should be implemented. Currently, OFC does not have a Marketing Officer or Department and this must be addressed
in order for the O-League to fulfil its undoubted potential.
In countries such as Solomon Islands where the infrastructure is expanding and there is a strong commercial
presence for companies involved in the shipping industry, there is a natural fit for sponsorship opportunities. Dreamtime Shipping Company currently sponsors the Honiara Youth Soccer League and expansion
into the O-League where regional television coverage can be quantified could prove attractive for brand
exposure.
OFC Media and Communications has developed a close working relationship with television companies
throughout the Oceania region and the potential for that relationship to yield broadcast of more OFC
competitions and football related content is significant.
The ‘Win in Oceania with Oceania’ development programme is almost certain to make the funding available to help build the capacity of respective media and football communities in the OFC member associations to a viable level capable of supporting growth for the O-League.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
AUCKLAND CITY FC v AS MANU URA
AUCKLAND OPEN O-LEAGUE WITH COMFORTABLE WIN
Auckland City were the big winners
on Match Day One of the 2008
OFC O-League romping to a comfortable 6-0 victory over Tahitian
champions AS Manu’ura.
South African marksmen Grant
Young and Keryn Jordan were too
hot to handle for AS Manu Ura as
the Tahitian’s struggled to cope with
Auckland City FC’s pace and experience.
Keryn Jordan got the scoring underway as early as the 6th minute after putting away a close range effort after Daniel Tapeta failed to
hold Jordan’s initial shot.
AS Manu Ura’s task was made more difficult when goalkeeper Daniel Tapeta was sent off for dragging
down Auckland City FC midfielder Jeff Campbell with the goal in Campbell’s sights.
Keryn Jordan made no mistake from the penalty spot after 34 minutes. Grant Young made it 3-0 after
latching onto a Bryan Little through-ball and leaving substitute goalkeeper Jonathan Torohia with no
chance.
Chad Coombes (52’), Jeff Campbell (68’) and Paul Urlovic (70’) rounded off the scoring for Auckland City
FC as the NZFC champions cruised to victory. Auckland City FC coach Colin Tuaa was understandably delighted.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
WAITAKERE UNITED v AS MANU URA
WAITAKERE COME FROM BEHIND TO SNEAK WIN
Waitakere United breathed a sigh of relief after they had
to come from behind to win their first points in the 2008 OLeague against a rejuvenated AS Manu Ura.
The opening 45 minutes were agonising for the home side as
a plucky AS Manu Ura got bodies behind the ball and won
most of the possession in a midfield zone United were expected to dominate.
AS Manu Ura took the lead just two minutes into the secondhalf when Auguste Washetine's shot was blocked on the line
only for Hiashi Kake to finish from close range with the Waitakere United defence left staring in stunned silence.
The goal was a hammer blow for the home side's ambitions
and coach Chris Milicich quickly made two substitutions introducing Neil Emblen and Jason Hayne for Daniel Koprivcic
and Jake Butler respectively.
Both players made an immediate difference to the home
side's fortunes with Emblen directly involved in Benjamin
Totori's equaliser, the diminutive Solomon Islander's acrobatic
finish leaving Manu Ura's Torohia without a hope after 74
minutes.
Emblen nudged Waitakere United in front 4 minutes later
when the former NZ Knights player latched onto a Jonathan
Perry long ball before rifling home a low finish past Torohia
for what proved to be the winning goal.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
AS MANU URA v WAITAKERE UNITED
MANU URA EARN DRAMATIC DRAW
Two dropped points was the price Waitakere United paid for a missed penalty and a goalkeeping error
in their O-League clash against AS Manu Ura in Papeete.
Striker Billy Mataitai scored a dramatic 91st minute equaliser to level the match at 1-1 and frustrate a
Waitakere team which had seemed to be the superior unit for most of the night.
Allan Pearce hit his 25th minute penalty low and wide after striker Benjamin Totori was brought down in
the box. It seemed Pearce's error would not be such a major sin when Chris Bale drilled home a 35 yard
free kick in the 63rd minute to give Waitakere a lead they so richly deserved.
However the match ended in spectacular fashion in injury time when a sweeping Manu Ura move down
the right found Mataitai who struck a looping shot from the edge of the penalty area. What should have
been a routine save for Eaddy turned into a nightmare as the ball fell through his hands and gave the
home team an equaliser which had looked beyond them for most of the night.
The goal not only brought the crowd to their feet it blew Group A wide open and put Auckland City in the
driving seat with a game in hand.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
AUCKLAND CITY vs WAITAKERE UNITED
WAITAKERE SCORE CRUCIAL DERBY WIN
The O-League pendulum swung in favour of Waitakere United
after they scored a crucial victory in their title campaign.
Striker Allan Pearce scored the only goal of the match for Waitakere in a fiercely contested 1-0 win at the Croatian Cultural Society in Henderson.
In a physical match it was Waitakere’s experienced hardnosed
approach that produced the result. It leaves Auckland City with a
big hill to climb, needing nothing less than two wins on the road
against AS Manu Ura in Tahiti, and Auckland again at Fred Taylor Park.
Both sides struggled to find any momentum in a game plagued by fouls and free kicks. This suited Waitakere the best and they always looked dangerous from set pieces, most notably Danny Hay who rattled
the post with a towering header in the sixth minute.
Auckland goalkeeper Tamati Williams wasn’t again troubled until midway through the second half when a
moment of sheer class from Waitakere turned the game. Substitute Commins Menapi expertly held up a
long ball from the back and laid it back for experienced defender Darren Bazeley. Bazeley with only
one man in the box measured his cross inch perfect and found Pearce between two Auckland defenders
and he managed to guide his header inside Williams near post.
Pearce’s goal brought the visiting side to life and City dominated the second half, creating a number of
half chances but lacked a ruthless cutting edge in front of goal. Paul Urlovic, Grant Young and Chad
Coombes all went close late in the game for Auckland but could get no reward for their endeavour.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
AS MANU URA v AUCKLAND CITY
AUCKLAND TO FACE WAITAKERE FOR FINALS SPOT
Auckland City will face Waitakere United to determine the winner of group
A after defeating AS Manu Ura 1-0 at Stade Paea in Tahiti.
Auckland defender George Suri (pictured left) climbed highest from a KiHyung Lee corner in the 82nd minute to nod home the only goal of the game
and set up an exciting matchup with their intercity rivals to determine who
will reach the home and away O-League final.
AS Manu Ura were reduced to 10 men late in the match when Auguste
Washetine’s frustrated challenge earned him his second yellow card in the
86th minute.
Manu Ura produced a resolute defensive performance in the first half with Auckland enjoying the majority
of possession.
Grant Young sent a shot crashing into the crossbar in the seventh minute and it took a stellar performance
from Manu Ura goalkeeper Daniel Tapeta to keep the scores level after a flurry of great saves from
Young, Jordan and Matthews.
Manu Ura were difficult to handle going forward and their long ball tactic nearly paid dividends just after halftime when striker Billy Mataitai latched onto a through ball and broke clear through the heart of
the Auckland defence before dragging his shot just wide of the target.
Auckland soon re-asserted their dominance and it was Solomon Island international Suri who used his
physical presence to outmuscle his marker in the box from Lee’s corner to nod a powerful header home
and earn Auckland their much needed three points.
Auckland now sits one point behind Waitakere and will be hoping to rectify the 1-0 loss they sustained at
the hands of United in their earlier group match in February.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
WAITAKERE UNITED v AUCKLAND CITY FC
WAITAKERE ADVANCE TO FINAL AFTER STALEMATE
Waitakere United will face Kossa FC in the OLeague final after holding Auckland City to a 1-1
draw at Trusts Stadium in Henderson.
The draw means that Waitakere finish OFC OLeague Group A with eight points – one more than
Auckland – and will progress to their second successive OFC O-League final.
Auckland knew that nothing less than a win would
be good enough and got off to a perfect start when
Korean import Ki-Hyung Lee blasted a free-kick into
the Waitakere net just three minutes into the match.
It was Auckland’s first goal in over 270 minutes of football against Waitakere and created an exciting
opening stanza.
Waitakere didn’t take long to reply when Allen Pearce was brought down by Auckland goalkeeper Tamati Williams inside the box.
Referee Norbert Hauata awarded a penalty and Pearce proceeded to step up and hammer the ball into
the crossbar before it bounced back out. Hauata judged that the ball had crossed the goal line and Waitakere wheeled off in celebration.
Auckland pushed more numbers forward in the second half in search of the winner but couldn’t break
down Waitakere’s solid defensive unit.
Auckland resorted to shooting from distance but did little to trouble Waitakere goalkeeper Richard Gillespie.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
KOSSA FC v TAFEA FC
KOSSA AND TAFEA FIGHT OUT STALEMATE IN GROUP OPENER
Solomon Islands champions Kossa FC drew 10,000 fans
to their match with Vanuatu champions Tafea FC but had
to settle for a 1-1 draw.
Former Auckland City FC striker Reginald Davani now
starring for Kossa FC set up the opening goal for his new
club after 61 minutes when he beat two defenders before setting up Joe Luwi who smashed an unstoppable
shot past Tafea FC’s Vanuatu international goalkeeper
David Chilia.
But Tafea FC were not out of the match and struck back
through substitute Alphonse Welin Qorig on 71 minutes
after Kossa FC defender Tome Faisi failed to cut out a through ball that allowed Qorig to round goalkeeper John Morgan to score the equaliser and shock the home crowd into stunned silence.
Tafea FC will be satisfied with the point achieved away from home at one of Oceania’s most difficult venues but must now repeat the achievement on Wednesday 31st October when Michel Kalo’s team travel to
Govind Park, Ba, to face Yogendra Dutt’s all conquering Ba in Fiji.
Kossa FC coach Jacob Moli was disappointed with a draw in front of an excellent sized crowd on home
turf in a match the Solomon Islands champions always had the upper-hand in.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
BA v TAFEA FC
BA STEAL WINNER IN 93rd MINUTE
Ba coach Yogendra Datt was a happy man following his club's last gasp O-League Houdini act against
Tafea FC of Vanuatu at Govind Park thanks to a goal from Fiji international defender Shalen Lal.
During a week in which injuries, suspensions and the loss of influential skipper Peni Finau and his brother
Osea Vakatalesau to Youngheart Manawatu, Datt could be forgiven for fearing the worst in this OLeague opener.
Credit must be given to Tafea FC, though, who looked to have all but sealed what would've been a very
valuable away point with some stoic defending around the box.
But the sublime skill of Fijian International defender Shalen Lal proved the decisive factor as he delicately
chipped the Tafea goalkeeper David Chilia with the last kick of the match.
Lal’s 93rd minute strike pushes Ba to the top of group B after one game.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
TAFEA FC v BA
TAFEA WIN BLOWS GROUP B WIDE OPEN
Tafea FC's 2-1 win over Fiji champions Ba blew the OFC O-League Group B wide open after
goals to Vanuatu internationals Jean Nako Naprapol and Samson Obed cancelled out a sensational strike from Avinesh Swamy.
Ba's heartache was compounded in the 52nd minute when Malakai Tiwa saw his penalty saved
by veteran Tafea FC goalkeeper David Chilia, who stopped Tiwa's spot-kick with his legs before
seeing the ball strike the crossbar.
Tafea's first OFC O-League win meant that all three clubs still had a chance of sealing top spot
in the group with all eyes turning to Kossa's match against Ba on Monday 25th February at Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
KOSSA FC v BA
KOSSA GO TOP WITH HOME WIN
Kossa FC went to the top of Oceania Football Confederation
(OFC) O-League Group B after it defeated Ba 2-0 in front of a
crowd of 12,000 at Lawson Tama Stadium.
An own goal by Malakai Kainihewe after 7 minutes and a second
from Solomon Islands international and FIFA Beach Soccer hero
James Naka after 10 minutes set the tone for an enthralling match.
Ba created a raft of chances hitting the Kossa woodwork on four
occasions. But that lack of sharpness in front of goal ultimately cost
the Fijian champions a share of the spoils.
Kossa coach Jacob Moli was delighted with the result.
“I was very pleased with the way our back four played. We kept
a good shape, were organised and disciplined.
Samson Takayama had a very good game particularly as he is
recovering from malaria.
Ba is not out of the race yet, I thought they played very well today
and showed they are a very good team.”

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
TAFEA FC v KOSSA FC
DRAW MEANS GROUP B STILL UP FOR GRABS
A place in the O-League final is still up for grabs in
group B after Tafea FC and Kossa FC battled their
way to a 1-1 draw at Port Vila Municipal Stadium
in Vanuatu.
The result means Tafea cannot progress through to
the final but gives a lifeline to Fijian champions Ba
who will play Kossa in a must win final group match
on Saturday.
Kossa took the lead in the 40th minute against the
run of play when Solomon Island international James
Naka glided past two defenders before slotting a
left footed shot into the far corner of the Tafea net.
The goal silenced the 5000 strong crowd who knew nothing less than a win tonight would be
good enough.
Tafea equalised in the 60th minute when Substitute Francois Sakama scored after Kossa failed to
effectively clear the ball in their goal box. Sakama was in the right place at the right time to tuck
the ball home and create an exciting final 30 minutes.
But Kossa held on and now sit in the driver’s seat in the group with one game remaining.
Ba head into the final match one point behind Kossa but will have the support of the local crowd
at Govind Park behind them.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
BA v KOSSA FC
KOSSA REACH FIRST OFC FINAL WITH CONVINCING WIN
Solomon Island champions Kossa FC have reached their
first ever OFC O-League final after beating Ba today
4-2 at Churchill Park, Lautoka, in Fiji.
Kossa finish Group B on 8 points, three clear of Tafea
FC and have earned a spot in a home and away final
against either Waitakere United or Auckland City, depending on their Group A match this Wednesday.
It was the first time that Ba have ever been beaten on
Fijian soil in an OFC O-League match.
Kossa got off to a flying start when Papua New Guinea
International Reginald Davani slotted home in the twelfth
minute to silence the 5,000 strong crowd. Ba pulled one back before half time through Avinesh Waran
Suwamy to set up an entertaining second half.
The joy for Ba was short lived when Joe Luwi regained the lead for Kossa with a strike six minutes into the
second half. Solomon Island international James Naka gave Kossa a two goal buffer in the 75th minute
and effectively closed the door on Ba's lingering OFC O-League final ambitions.
The Churchill Park pitch was heavy through the middle and both sides looked to exploit the width of the
field to create their chances.
Josaia Bukalidi made one last push for Ba with a goal in the 84th minute but it wasn't enough as Paul
Wale made certain the result with a final goal in the 90th minute to make it 4-2.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
KOSSA FC v WAITAKERE UNITED
LUWI AND NAKA EARN KOSSA FIRST LEG GLORY
Twenty thousand fans packed into Lawson Tama Stadium in Honiara to see Solomon Islands champions
Kossa FC upset Waitakere United in the O-League First Leg Final.
Joe Luwi and James Naka were the heroes for the home side as their goals propelled Kossa to a 3-1 in
hot and humid conditions. Centre back Jonathon Perry scored the only goal for the visitors in a sluggish
performance
Waitakere looked like they were struggling with the heat and were made to pay in the 21st minute when
James Naka found some space outside the Waitakere box and fired a 30 yard missile into the underside
of the crossbar. Joe Luwi was the quickest player to react and swiftly tucked the rebound home to give
the hosts the perfects start.
It was Joe Luwi who struck again for Kossa in the 42nd minute and again it was his predatory instincts that
made the goal. Davani’s left footed shot was spilled by Richard Gillespie and Luwi was there to tuck it
home in clinical fashion.
Jonathan Perry rose highest from a Neil Sykes corner in the 48th minute to pull one back for Waitakere
and it looked like the halftime water had woken them from their daze.
But the relentless attack we have come to expect from Waitakere never came and Kossa slowly started to
gain the edge back.
Kossa grabbed a crucial third goal in the 89th minute when Naka jinxed his way through the Waitakere
box before deftly clipping the ball over the on rushing Gillespie to produce screams of joy from the local
faithful.

STORY OF THE OFC O-LEAGUE
WAITAKERE UNITED v KOSSA FC
FIVE GOALS SEND WAITAKERE BACK TO FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP
Waitakere United will once again represent Oceania at the FIFA Club World Cup in Japan after beating
Kossa FC 5-0 in the second leg of the O-League final at Trusts Stadium in Henderson.
Waitakere turned around a 3-1 deficit from the first leg in Honiara to win the final 6-3 on aggregate
and can now look forward to another lucrative pay day and chance to rub shoulders with the world’s
elite.
A powerful shower prior to kick off didn’t deter the 3,000 fans who packed the grandstand at Douglas
Field though looked to have an effect on Kossa with players losing their footing on the slippery surface on
a number of occasions.
After losing the first leg in Honiara Waitakere knew that a good start was imperative and they got just
that when Benjamin Totori fired home a left footed drive into the Kossa net in the 8th minute.
Waitakere dominated the early stages of the match with Jason Hayne, Danijel Koprivcic and Benjamin
Totori all testing the Kossa goalkeeper. But it was the set plays where Waitakere looked the most dangerous and in the 25th minute Chris Bale rewarded a series of dangerous crosses when he got the last
touch from a Neil Sykes corner to make it 2-0.
Waitakere made it 3-0 from another set play in the 72nd minute when Allen Pearce headed home a Neil
Sykes corner. The goal looked to suck some life out of Kossa and they were made to pay again five minutes later when Pearce added his second with a well timed volley.
Jake Butler completed the rout with a low side footed drive from outside the box in the 85th minute and
sent the Waitakere players and fans into celebration mode.
Kossa can look back on an inspirational O-League journey which has exceeded expectations and has provided invaluable experience for the many young members of the squad.
Waitakere will be looking forward to Japan in December and Coach Chris Milicich is excited about being
able to prepare for another World Club Cup campaign.
