Also, since mint is green, we thought it appropriate considering the
environmentally friendly process we use to make our tile. This is achieved in
several ways:
SINGLE FIRING
Rather than manufacturing tile with two firings—a bisque firing followed by a
glaze firing—Julep Tile achieves this in a single firing. This cuts the energy used
(and the labor of loading and unloading) in half.
ABOUT THE COMPANY
The name Julep comes from the drink, mint julep, which originated in the
Southern United States (as did the company’s owner, Kirsten Sharp). We felt the
classy, sweet nature of the mint julep accurately reflected the style of tile we
produce.
MID-RANGE FIRING
TEMPERATURE
Our tiles are fired to cone 6 (2232 °F) rather than cone 10 (2345 °F). While not a
huge difference in temperature, the extra energy conserved by firing to the lower
temperature and the reduced wear on the kiln is considerable.
MADE TO ORDER
Each order of Julep Tile is made to fit the space where it will be installed. This
allows for a very custom look while minimizing excess tile left over after the
project is complete.

BROCADE
CODE: DT- Broc
The Brocade design was influenced by the intricate patterns
found in the fabric district of Montmartre in Paris.





COBHAM
CODE: DT- Cobh
This organic pattern is based on the décor of a stately home in
England where a family wedding was held.





HISER
CODE: DT- Hise
A recent remodel of the owner’s 1893 family home unearthed
some original wallpaper which inspired this Victorian design.





DAMASK
CODE: DT-Dama
The Damask pattern is one of our most popular designs. Its
intricate, classic shape is reminiscent of Victorian wallpaper but
was actually inspired by the pattern on a kitchen apron.





SWIRL

The Swirl pattern is a whimsical design, perfect for a kitchen
back splash or bathroom.

The Bloom pattern was inspired by the owner’s love of flowers.
The Cream Crackle glaze adds an extra sparkle, with subtle
jewel-like properties.

Outdoor use in temperate climates only.
· LEAD TIME: Typically 4-6 weeks. Estimate given at time of order
placement.
· PAYMENT: Checks only please. 100% payment due upon delivery.
For larger orders, or at Julep Tile’s discretion, 50% deposit may be
required when order is received.
· SHIPPING: With the exception of very large orders, Julep Tile ships
via UPS Ground. A 50% surcharge on UPS's fee will be added to cover
handling and packaging. For large orders requiring a pallet/freight
service, a flat $50 handling and packaging fee will be added to the
freight costs.
CATALOG NOTES
GENERAL PRODUCT INFORMATION
· INSPECTION & INSTALLATION: All products should be inspected
immediately upon receipt for damaged or missing material and any
issues regarding the shipment reported within 5 days. No claims
regarding size or color of tile will be honored after installation.
· VARIATIONS: Product dimensions and glaze colors may vary.
· GLAZES: Each pattern is available in any glaze in the color palette.
Prices do not vary based on choice of glaze color. Glazes with codes
beginning in “CL” will develop cracks over time. This effect, called
crazing, is a natural process for this particular glaze and is to be
expected.
· MAINTENANCE: We highly recommend sealing all installed tile
with silicone-based sealant. Crackle glaze should be sealed once a year
as the cracks in the glaze will continue to develop.
Some wearing and scratching of the glaze surface over time is
expected. Do not use an abrasive scouring pad when cleaning the tile.
We recommend using a non-abrasive, non-acidic household cleaning
product.
