A tribute to the design, to the informal and relational space that describes the domestication of the third millennium. An original adjustment of the shape to the function in order to give life to a furnishing object that makes the most of the everyday experience. Frosio interprets the contemporary living trends, and gives life to a new convivial domestication, where the house is opened to the others and it is lived as a relational space. For this reason we believe that the concept of an object overcomes its own touchable features and it extends itself till including the relationships that it generates and the interaction ways that make unique the experience of the use. Frosio products are modular furnishings, they are able to be appreciated not only for their aesthetical and useful qualities, for the design efficacy and the artificial quality, but also for the signal value that they have inside. The library is fixed to the ceiling through a fischer and is fixed to the floor through an anti slipping base. Sant’Elia rotates thanks to a suspension bearing (upper and lower). The main frame is the aluminium tubular. Accessories, shelves and covering are available in various materials (wood, acrylic), finishes (opaque, gloss). 04 OPAQUE VENEERED BLACK OPAQUE VENEERED WHITE The name “Sant’Elia” is a tribute to the Italian master of the Futurism, from his visionary architectures derives the initial inspiration of the design of the object. The project purpose is to create a concrete and flexible shape, conceptually referable to the concept of “admirable machinery” for the books or magazines collection. Maximum highness | 4,2 m Minimum highness | 2,2 m Floor Om | 0 m MODULAR Sant’Elia library is completely modular, you can compose it as you like it, both for the materials and the colours, but considering the warehouse availability. So you can make it up, for example, with hexagonal wooden or acrylic shelves, wooden or acrylic winglets and with or without covering tubular elements with decorative shutters, in this way you will leave the aluminium main frame at sight, it depends of oneself taste. COMPONENTS Multi layers wood, Mdf or acrylic for the shelves Aluminium main frame Covering tubular elements with horizontal decorative shutters Multi layers wood, Mdf or acrylic for the adjustable stuckbooks winglets Aluminium nuts for the fixing and the regulation of the winglets Basement with sphere bearing 05 Highness available High version 2,4 | 2,7 | 3,1 | 4,2 m Low version 1,2m Steel nuts and screw thread for regulation Hexagonal shelf with bearing plane SECTIONAL Sant’Elia is a library that starts from the ceiling and ends to the floor. The only fixing needed is to the ceiling and the system can be adjustable in different highnesses available, from a minimum of 2,2m till a maximum of 4,2 m, through patented tubular sections and telescopic system. REVOLVING SYSTEM 07 Sant’Elia rotes around its own axis in both senses thanks to an innovative revolving system that makes the library ideal for corner places. Beside saving precious space, the rotation of the library enriches it of functionality and simplicity in the use. Clockwise rotation 08 Anticlockwise rotation 06 MODULARITY OF THE SYSTEM 09 The moving fixing of the winglets allows to storage a variable quantity of books or magazines. The winglets can be regulated through a simple and instantaneous act. The rotation of the library on its own axis allow to have a immediate access to all the books. 10 THE EXCELLENCE OF THE EXECUTION 11 Frosio believes that an thorough execution is implicit in the production of a good furnishing. For this reason the high performances of the materials used and the extreme precision in working and assembling processes are the premise for the achievement of the excellence aim contained inside the project. The composite rigour, the continuous researching of new technologies must beside be added to, in order to achieve a continuous improvement of the product. 12 13 THE DESIGN Sant’Elia is the result of a long research and prototype in order to get a innovative product from the point of view both of stylish and of flexibility and adaptability on use, according to the principle of the innovative design. Total modularity, integrability of the components, essentiality of the shapes. These are the principles that have led the designers Roberto De Giorgis and Agostino Borinelli in all the phases of a project that is perfectly set both in the domestic concept and in the contract one. The designers Roberto De Giorgis Is born in Palazzolo sull’Oglio on October 15th 1968, he graduated at the Politecnico in Milan with a planning architectural thesis on a congressional- expository centre for the Oglio Valley. He collaborates with Prof. Arch. Enrico Mantero as a temporary assistant during the Architectural Planning course at the Politecnico in Milan. After an apprenticeship and a beginning of the professional activity based on the architectural planning and the interiors design, he adds to the activity of his studio, in a continuative way, the Industrial Design, working in collaboration with Arch. Agostino Borinelli, with whom he founds the present work group DB&C Architects. Agostino Borinelli Is born in Sondrio on December 25th 1970. He graduated at the Politecnico in Milan with a project concerning “An alternative for the re-qualification of the ex- Scalo Merci in Porta Vittoria and the study of a musical space for Milan”. He collaborates with the Architectural Studies Centres of Prof. Ing. Arch. Marco Dezzi Bardeschi both for the new buildings planning and for the preservation and the recovery of historical monuments. In the interiors Architecture and Design concerning he collaborates, for a long time, as a consultant at P.E.C. Society in Siviglia, Spain, planning and realizing lots of spaces for a commercial use. He plans and realizes single furnishing elements. DB&C Studio The Studio devotes itself to the academic and professional experimentation of an Architecture, Furnishing and Design interpretation, based on the model of the Modern Movement. The conceptual heritage of the Rationalism, used as a composite criterion, is translated in the attention to innovative but functional solutions. In particular in the Design and in the Interiors Design is searched the synthesis between formal essentiality and expressive value in the modular compositions and in the technological element, using advanced ways of working and materials. 17 CENTRAL ROOM SANT'ELIA 18 In the central room version, Sant'Elia adjusts itself to a series of alternative uses and contests, a particular attention must be given to the contract and to the common spaces, for example: hotels halls, waiting rooms, concept stores and all those spaces in which it is necessary to exhibit, in a banal but immediate way, books, informative material, magazines, etc. 19 INFORMAL DESIGN 20 TECHNICAL GUIDE ACCESSORIES FRONTAL PROSPECTS AND HIGHNESS | SANT’ELIA CEILING FIXING WITH ROLLER BEARING UPPER VIEW LATERAL VIEW LOWER VIEW BOOKSTAND ELEMENT LOWER VIEW BASAMENT WITH SPHERE BEARING BACK VIEW CEILING H_320 UP CEILING H_270 UP CEILING H_240 UP LATERAL VIEW CENTRAL ROOM SANT’ELIA SHELF OR BOOKSTAND ELEMENT BOOKHOLDING ELEMENT MAGAZINES STAND ELEMENTS THE HEXAGONAL SHELVES, THE COVERING AND THE MAIN FRAME ARE THE SAME USED ALSO FOR THE CEILING LIBRARY VERSION BASAMENT WITH SPHERE BEARING BOOKSTAND ELEMENT* HEXAGONAL SHELF PLAN DIMENSIONS MILLINGS FOR ACCESSORIES HOLDING * Available only for central room 21 version Sant’Elia COMPONENTS STANDARD COLORS PAGE* Multi layers wood, Mdf or acrylic for the shelves Aluminium main frame Covering tubular elements with horizontal decorative shutters Multi layers wood, Mdf or acrylic for the adjustable stuck-books winglets Aluminium nuts for the fixing and the regulation of the winglets Basement with sphere bearing SPECIFICATIONS Highness available High version 2,4 | 2,7 | 3,1 | 4,2 m Low version 1,2m MULTILAYERS OR MDF VERSION All the indicated colours are available for the hexagonal shelves, for the winglets and for the covering elements.
