Dressing right
for Water Activities
Fly Fishing Drift Trips
& Walk and Wade Trips
When the weather is cool, fly fishers will typically
wear waders and boots to stay dry and warm.
Cool weather clothing includes:
• Warm pair of socks
• Fleece, sweat pants, or other insulating pants
• A long sleeve shirt
• A light jacket and/or rain jacket
• Hat and Polarized sunglasses
In the summer, there is no need for waders and
boots to stay dry, in fact it’s very enjoyable to get
in the water. Summer clothing is simple and may
include:
• Shorts, capri pants or quick dry pants
• T-shirt or long sleeve shirt
• A light jacket
• Hat and Polarized sunglasses
• Sandals with ankle strap, sneakers or other
shoes that can get wet
Paddling Sports
On rafting trips you have the option of getting
wet or staying dry. Let your guide know of your
preferences but know that at the very minimum
you will get your feet wet getting in and out of the
rafts. Definitely expect to get wet on ISUP trips.
Adequate clothing would include:
• Shorts, Capri pants or quick dry pants
• A light jacket
• Hat and Sunglasses
• Sandals with ankle strap, sneakers or other
shoes that can get wet
Each raft will have sunscreen, tissue and a dry bag
for your valuables.
