The meetings are held in an effort to provide the opportunity for an exchange of information, reduce the criminal victimization of older persons and enhance the delivery of law enforcement services to older citizens. This program is designed for you, with flexibility to allow you to come whenever it is most convenient. Strawberry Pool is heated to 80 degrees, so it feels great as you exercise. Participants are provided with a flotation belt to help with balance and stability so the participant can have full range of motion. This class has no impact on bones and joints, making it a great way to workout and receive the full benefits of exercise. The class consists of several components, including a warm-up, stretching and cardio and toning intervals, to help increase strength. The participants will receive instruction on their swimming skills and then will engage in an instructor-led, team building activity. The participants will also be allotted “free swim time” where they will have the entire pool to themselves and can also converse with the other participants. Participants receive four-30 minute sessions with an instructor. Instructors are Red Cross trained and have received additional training in instructor courses, so they are qualified to teach any level of swimmer. Private swim lessons will benefit beginner level swimmers by teaching them lifesaving techniques. They can also help more advanced swimmers to improve their strokes, making them smoother and faster.
