Ethel M® Chocolates Celebrates 35th Anniversary
with $2 Million Factory Store Redesign

HENDERSON, Nev. (June 28, 2016) – Ethel M® Chocolates today announced
plans for a complete redesign of its Henderson premium chocolate factory store
in celebration of its 35th anniversary this year. The project will fully refresh the
factory store experience with an updated look, new interactive elements,
expanded retail space and additions to their café menu. Through the project’s
completion, visitors can still enjoy Ethel M by visiting its summer pop-up store
located at the factory, set to open July 5.
“The transformation will elevate the factory store experience, while preserving the
qualities and tradition that have made Ethel M a memorable part of the
community since opening its doors in 1981,” said Oren Young, general manager
of Ethel M Chocolates. “We’re introducing an interactive and open design
concept that will allow guests to explore our process, products and engage with
our Chocolatiers, really bringing the Ethel M Chocolates story to life for the
visitor.”
New Factory Store Experience
The redesigned store will showcase a new ambiance and atmosphere,
highlighting colors and materials that represent the factory’s original copper
kettles and signature Botanical Cactus Garden. All-new interactive features will
be introduced including, an upgraded Chocolate Tasting Room overlooking the
cactus garden, where guests will learn how chocolate is made and also sample
freshly made chocolates. A demonstration area will also be added to the new
layout, where a Chocolatier will prepare delectable combinations such as
chocolate-covered strawberries, caramel apples and more.
The self-guided viewing aisle will also receive new upgrades including digital
displays to illustrate the Ethel M Chocolate’s history and the sustainability efforts
of the Mars Company. Shadow boxes containing original artifacts will also be
installed along the timeline exhibit for guests to interact with and photograph.
The existing café will also be remodeled and offer an extended menu to include
coffee, specialty-drinks and light bites. The expanded retail space will be
approximately 7,500 sq. ft. and will display a wide selection of the factory’s handcrafted, preservative-free chocolates and treats.
Summer Pop-Up Store
Those visiting the factory during the summer while the redesign project is taking
place will enjoy a special, fully air-conditioned, summer pop-up store offering a
full retail line and private Chocolate Tasting Room. The 2,400 sq. ft. store will be
located immediately outside of the factory at 2 Cactus Garden Drive, Henderson,
NV 89014. Guests can stroll through the factory’s three-acre Botanical Cactus
Garden, comprised of more than 300 species of cacti and desert plants.
