Tobago Bible School
The Bible School began on the Sunday
th
July 29 with a memorial meeting. Well
- actually it began a couple of years ago
when Tobago began preparing for the
Caribbean-wide
Youth
Camp.
Whenever a little ecclesia of 30 or so
hosts a group of 120 or so for two weeks
it becomes quite a challenge. Several
days in advance people began arriving
for the Bible School and of course they
all
needed
transportation,
accommodation and food. Due to the
fact that the Tobago ecclesia was
hosting the Youth Camp they had a
larger turn out to their yearly Bible
School. In fact, they had their largest
memorial meeting ever in Tobago with
over 100 people. Excited brethren and
sisters, and young people gathered to
study God’s Word and to renew
friendships.
Tobago Bible School
Bro. David Andrews dedicates his time
to the service of the truth on a daily
basis in Guyana; he was called upon to
deliver a series of classes on the parables
of the Lord during the Bible School. Bro.
David powerfully appealed to young and
old to apply the teaching of the Lord in
their everyday lives.
Bro. David’s
experience with the various cultures and
customs of the islands allowed him to
poke fun at the various islands, while
making the material interesting and
relevant. Bro. Ted Hodge spoke on
“Faith which worketh by love”. These
classes stepped through Paul’s very
compelling letter to the Galatians.

The Schedule
The school began each morning with a
major transportation project.
Once
attendees were gathered at the
conference centre the classes began.
After two morning talks, a Q&A period
ensued, with usually 30-45 minutes of
pointed questions and discussion. Lunch
was always appreciated along with a
short break before a third class and then
another Q&A period. Around 3:30-4:00
the next transportation project began
and everyone was taken to their abode
for the evening.

Each night the young people from a specific
country had an opportunity to present
material associated with their island. Above:

Truth Corps in
Tobago
A special feature of this Bible School was the
involvement of Truth Corp. Young people from
Canada and USA had travelled from preaching
efforts in Mexico to participate in the Tobago
Bible School. Here they enjoyed the Bible
School, taught the young people and then went
to preach to the community. With some local
support and a few keen young people they
delivered leaflets, talked to people and put on
evening workshops for the public.

Bro. Brad is the linkman for Trinidad and Tobago as
well as a Truth Corp leader.
RADIO PROGRAM
Bro. John LeBourne pictured to the left with Bro. Ted Hodge
has preached the truth for many years by getting up early
Sunday morning to address the public through a radio
program. Here Bro. Ted joins Bro John to address the subject
of “The Reward of the Righteous”. Relative to the Western
world more people believe in God and the Bible, so it’s easier
to speak to people about the truth, however most people
believe the typical errors of Christianity.
Caribbean Youth Camp 2012
After the Bible School even more young people and
support staff travelled to the isalnd for the Caribbean
Youth Camp. Adding to the mix were young people from
Barbadoes and New York, USA. Pictured to the left Bro.
Anthony Edwards from St. Lucia attends the Bible School
and then the Youth Camp. After which he and fellow St.
Lucian Bro. Andre George travel to Guyana to deliver
several Bible talks to the Guyana ecclesias. It must be
remembered that the Caribbean Youth Camp only takes
place once every three years. So when the opportunity
comes they try to make the most of it. People like Bro.
Anthony get energized from the studies, but before long
they are back in their home ecclesias where they will be
called upon to lead and deliver material on a regular basis
where there are only a few to study and speak.

YOUTH CAMP SCHEDULE
Every day at Youth Camp began at 5:30am –
yes – 5:30 am. At 6:00am to 6:45 a group
workout took place, followed by breakfast,
cleanup, showers etc. At 9:15 classes began
and Bro.Natahn Badger addressed the
Young People on the character of Jacob.
Everyone could relate to the struggles in his
life and were encouraged to battle on in
God’s strength not our own. Bro. Ted
Hodge addressed the young people on the
theme “In the beginning…” and looked at
subjects such as: the universe, intelligent
design, and the importance of putting God
first in your life. A variety of afternoon
activities were followed by .an evening
program sponsored by each island. A couple
of special trips took place – a hike to a
waterfall and a bus trip to a sports field and
beach. Despite the busy program young
people often had smiles to share.

From the beginning, 2012 promised to
be a year full of activities among the
ecclesias of the Caribbean. Fraternal
weekends, mutual improvement and
sister’s seminars, youth weekends, and
preaching campaigns throughout the
area all climaxed on Tobago, with the
Bible School, Truth Corp and Triennial
Caribbean CYC Conference in August.
And the year continues ... with
fraternals, youth weekends and
preaching efforts, God willing, during
the balance of the year.

the budget for 2012!
That means donations
of $188,000 by
December 31, 2012.
Willing and generous service, that’s
what is behind all these activities;
brothers, sisters and youth, all dedicated
to serving our Heavenly Father and Lord
Jesus. Many visitors joined in the
programs; some to share and enjoy
fellowship and others to provide Biblical
messages and spiritual food. For details
of these events, please refer to CBMC
and CBMA newsletters, The Bible
Missionary and The Tidings magazines.
CBMC brings together a group of
brothers and sisters, volunteers for the
most part, who give their time
generously, preparing and presenting
Scriptural material, encouraging all to
know and to grow in the love of the Lord
God and Jesus Christ. CBMC supports
these activities, coordinating some and
adding financial support to many, all by
the grace of our God.
CBMC also provides advisory and
financial support for meeting hall
upkeep and renovations, some of which
are major; like the hall at the Plegk
Anker farm, Guyana, now under repair
and expansion. Two new projects, at
May Pen, Jamaica and Bank Hall,
Barbados, are at the planning stage.

Purchase of a bus for transport in Guyana is in the final stage.
Future CBMC financial support for Caribbean brothers and
sisters and the broad array of activities they undertake depends
on donations from Canadian brothers and sisters; from
individuals and from ecclesias.
