Children grow everything from asparagus to zucchini. These children are picking strawberries CARROTS! Potatoes growing in potato sacks! Preschoolers talking about their gardens with the School Age kids! Children and older adults work side by side in the gardens. Toddlers and Preschoolers enjoy cooking in the classrooms every Thursday morning Older adults love to share their knowledge and love of the foods that they cook with the children Family Style Food Service allows children to make decisions about the food they eat. Breakfast Buddies! A child who is reluctant to try his breakfast… Is much more likely to eat with a little encouragement from his breakfast buddy! Children and older adults dance, sing and make a joyful noise throughout the day. Drumming circles, dancing and yoga are just some of the active things that they enjoy. Change begins at home, so we educate parents and caregivers Parents, children, older adults and their caregivers join together to create and eat a healthy meal. Children sell the produce that they grow at a “Farmers Market” once a week throughout the summer months. Profits are reinvested in the gardens and donated to a variety of charities. Literacy Adventure at Amawalk Farm A story about pumpkins and pumpkin picking on a farm! Children and older adults who play together and eat well together create a happy and healthy community.
