PRESENTATION HISTORY • • • • 26-year old, Richard Klinger opens a small engineering workshop in Vienna He invents the modern reflex level gauge, which is pattented in 1890 and wins him a gold medal at a major exhinbition in Prague. In 1893 start-up of the plant in Gumpoldskirchen. Richard Klinger invents the „Klingerit“-gasket sheet , which conquers the world. 1886-1928 Hubert Klinger-Lohr Karl Klinger Richard Klinger • • • Karl Klinger establishes a „Klingerit“ manufacturing company in Sidcup. „Klingerit-1000“, an oilresistant, wire-mesh reinforced gasket sheet is developed for cylinder head gaskets in combustion engines. The link with the automotive industry opens up a new sector: the production of brake linings. • • • • • 1928-1957 Hubert Klinger-Lohr establishes manufacturing facilities in Europe and Overseas, and an European distribution network with 24h/7day-a-week service. Development of PTFE sealing material. Production of large industrial ball valves – Ballostar Launch of the asbestos-free gasket sheet – Klinger©sil. Expansion of the European production centres 1957-1984 Thomas Klinger-Lohr • • • • • Thomas Klinger-Lohr introduces the concept of a decentralized organization in the Group. Merger of the automotive business with the German competitor Elring - ElringKlinger. Start-up a new state-of-the-art production centre for large ball valves and new R&D facilities in Gumpoldskirchen. Launch of „KLINGER©Quantum. Opening of 3 Representative Offices in Shanghai. 1984-2011 HISTORY Klinger International Management (KIM) Heinz Scharl Peter Müller Christoph Klinger-Lohr Chief Executive Officer Chief Financial Officer Business Development Manager New Management New Holding based in Gumpoldskirchen/Austria. We act globally on all five continents and thus have a high level of customer intimacy. Where there is no own Klinger company we cooperate with specialised local agents or local partners. COMPLETE RANGE OF SEALINGS + GASKETS We produce soft sealings sheets in five plants strategically located to cover the worldwide nonasbestos market in oder to strengthen our #1 position. We cut soft gaskets in our trading companies for tailormade applications or have the sheets cut outside. We produce metal gaskets (spiral wounds and kemprofiles) in six plants for tailor-made applications in oil & gas, chemistry and power plants. We process graphite sheets and rings in two plants. We produce braided packings in one plant. SPECIALIZED RANGE OF VALVES AND INSTRUMENTATION We produce ball valves and piston valves in three plants with special focus on disrict heating, chemical and petrochemical applications. We develop specialized butterfly valves and actuators. We process glass level gauges and offer other instrumentation such as magnetic level gauges and Mica.
