Just outside of Rome are the “Castelli Romani”
– old fortified villages set among chestnut
trees, vineyards, olive groves and lakes. In
ancient times, these were the vacation towns
of the Roman noblemen and the Popes. We
drive south of the city, along the Appian Way,
to the charming town of Genzano. We stop to
view the Lake of Nemi, dedicated to the pagan
goddess Diana and famous for its succulent
wild strawberries. Next we visit the Castel
Gandolfo, where for some time each summer,
the Pope resides.
On to Marino, famous for its wine festival where
real wine flows freely from the fountain in the
main square.
Finally, we come to Frascati. Time to enjoy a
Pope Francis
stroll through the town and lunch on your own.
Try the famous “porchetta panino” with
Frascati wine.
Tonight we enjoy a fun dinner in the
characteristic district of Trastevere, one of the
centers of Roman nightlife, with wines fit for
the Roman Gods! BB, D
DAY 4 - Tuesday ’Special Access’ VIP
Vatican Experience ➤ St. Peter’s Basilica
At 8am this morning we begin our beforehours privileged entrance to the Vatican
Museum and Sistine Chapel. (This is a
semi-private experience, sometimes with a
few other small groups, as opposed to the
usual 1000’s of visitors who arrive later in
the morning.)
What a way to experience the Sistine Chapel!
But exceptionally, your guide will be able
to speak freely in the chapel to us, before
the crowds enter when SILENZIO is strictly
enforced.
After a coffee-break in the museum’s
cafeteria, our private tour continues to the
Raphael Rooms, the Sala Di Chiaroscuro, the
‘secret’ Nicolina Chapel inside the walls of the
Vatican and the Borgia Apartments.These are
ALL areas well off the normal tourist route!
Finally, we go outside to the Papal gardens. An
electric coach will drive us through the private
park of the Pontiff to view the beautiful

visit the Papal Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi. Our
day in Assisi also includes a visit to the crypt of
Saint Francis.

Next, again avoiding all lines, we slip through
a side door to find ourselves inside an
awesome marble canyon, the seat of the Holy
Catholic Church - St. Peter’s Basilica. Among
the priceless wonders are Michelangelo’s Pieta’,
Bernini’s fantastical bronze altar pillars, and
mosaics that you’ll insist are painted with a
brush. Instead, they’re made with millions of
tiny chips that are undetectable, even close up!
After a lunch break, we board our coach for
a panoramic city tour of Rome. What a day!
Back at the hotel, your guide will have some
ideas for dinner on your own – from pizza and
a beer to 5-Star dining. BB
DAY 5 - Wednesday Rome ➤ Papal
Audience (when available) & Saint John’s
in Lateran Cathedral
This morning we head back to the Vatican.
Experience the awe and wonder of the Papal
Audience as Cardinals preach in various
languages reaching out to pilgrims and visitors
from all over the world. Listen to the Pope’s
weekly message as he enters the central stage.
This afternoon, we continue on to visit St.
John’s-in-Lateran Cathedral of Rome. It ranks
first among the four Papal Basilicas of Rome.
We stop and view the Holy Stairs which are,
according to the Christian tradition, where
Jesus Christ stood during his Passion on his way
to trial. The stairs were, reputedly, brought to
Rome by St. Helena in the 4th century.
Tonight you have another chance to explore
the wonderful restaurants in Rome on your
own. Be sure to try some “Fiori di zucca”, a
specialty in Rome: Zucchini flowers, deep
fried and filled with mozzarella cheese and
anchovies. BB
DAY 6 - Thursday Rome ➤ Assisi ➤
Florence ➤ Dinner in Hotel
Next we stop in the town of Santa Maria degli
Angeli to see the Basilica where St. Francis
worshipped. The Basilica is the seventh largest
Christian church in the world. Inside is a small
& simple church - the ‘Porziuncola’, the place
where St. Francis spent all his time praying and
also where he founded the Franciscan Order of
the Friars Minor.
Tonight we enjoy dinner in the hotel. BB, D
DAY 7 - Friday Florence ➤ Florence City
Sightseeing Including “The David” ➤ Pisa
City Tour ➤ Florence ➤ Dinner Out
Florence – the fountainhead of the
Renaissance, awaits our inspection!
Our day of sightseeing includes the majestic
Duomo built in 1296, Giotto’s Bell Tower and
the Baptistery with its renowned “Gates of
Paradise” doors.
We follow the medieval streets to the most
striking square in Florence, Piazza della
Signoria, home of Santa Croce Church,
Michelangelo’s final resting place.
“Breathtaking” is the only word to describe
one’s first view of Michelangelo’s David. Yes, it’s
quite large and detailed. But the real magic is in
how Michelangelo transformed a lifeless rock
into a man all with just a hammer and chisel!
This afternoon we travel to Pisa, known for its
famous leaning tower. The Piazza del Duomo,
also known as “Piazza dei Miracoli “(Square
of Miracles) is recognized as one of the main
centers for medieval art in the world. It is
dominated by four great religious edifices: the
Cathedral, the Campanile (the leaning tower),
the Baptistery and the Camposanto. We’ll enter

the Cathedral which is dedicated to St. Mary of
the Assumption. Inside the Cathedral is a big
candelabrum near the altar. It’s said that Galileo
Galilei tested his laws of the pendulum using
this candelabrum!
Next we enter the Baptistery, the largest in all
of Italy, made entirely of marble. This building,
which is dedicated to St. John the Baptist,
took 211 years to construct! It is famous for its
perfect acoustics.
Dinner tonight will be at a popular Florentine
restaurant with great Tuscan wines. BB, D
DAY 8 - Saturday Florence ➤ Siena
➤ Wine Tasting & Lunch in Chianti
➤ Florence
Today we travel back in time to the middle
ages: Siena, a beautiful medieval city. We visit
the famous Piazza del Campo, one of Europe’s
greatest medieval squares. And the site of
Siena’s famous horse race, the Palio di Siena.
We visit Siena’s town hall, Palazzo Pubblico,
a beautiful gothic building which sits on
Piazza del Campo by the bell tower, and the
enchanting Duomo featuring the most ornate
mosaic floor in all Italy. Siena’s grand Cathedral,
which was was built in the 1200s, is one of the
finest examples of Italian Gothic architecture.
Next, we’ll visit a local winery where we’ll enjoy
a typical Tuscan lunch and wine tasting! Salute!
Tonight you can enjoy dinner on your own.

This morning, we travel on a 10 minute bus ride
over to another country – Vatican City! With
our expert local guide we’ll tour the Vatican
Museums, a treasure trove of ancient Greek
sculptures, medieval tapestries and Renaissance
paintings. Our visit culminates in the Sistene
Chapel, the room where the Pope is elected.
Next we visit St. Peter’s Basilica, by far the
largest church in Christendom. We’ll see
Michelangelo’s Pieta’, sculpted when he was
just 24, as well as Bernini’s seven story bronze
canopy located above the main altar.
Tonight we’ll recount our explorations with
good food and wines fit for the Emperor!
DAY 4 - Sunday Rome City Sightseeing
➤ Afternoon of Leisure
Hail Caesar! All aboard our chariot for a
panoramic tour of Imperial Rome including the
Roman Forum, Largo Argentina (where Caesar
was stabbed by Brutus), the Jewish Ghetto and
the Circus Maximus.
Then we’ll enter the Colosseum, reliving the
brutal entertainment of the gladiators and the
lions, refereed by the Emperor himself.
Tonight we thought you’d enjoy a dinner on
your own. Ask your tour guide for a nearby
recommendation, or venture out and explore
the lively local restaurants in Rome! BB
DAY 5 - Monday Rome ➤ Naples ➤
Pompeii ➤ Sorrento ➤ Dinner in Hotel
After breakfast, (“colazione” in Italian), we’re
off to Naples….birthplace of Caruso, Sophia

country – Vatican City! With our expert local
guide we’ll tour the Vatican Museums, a treasure

room where the Pope is elected. Next we visit

above the main altar.

We bid farewell to Palermo this morning. On
the way to Agrigento, we’ll stop to visit one of
the largest and most impressive archaeological
sites in the Mediterranean: Selinunte,
renowned for the majestic remnants of its
temples and acropolis. This huge city was built
in 628 BC and for over two centuries it was one
of the richest and most powerful in the world.
It was destroyed by the Carthaginians in 409 BC
and finally fell to the Romans in about 350 BC.
Next, you’ll have some free time to explore and
enjoy a lunch on your own in Agrigento.
This afternoon we visit the famous long reaches
of the Valley of the Temples, a Unesco world
heritage site which holds some of the greatest
Greek ruins in the world.

Enjoy lunch on your own and be sure to try the
local specialty of this area: Limoncello, a liquor
made from the local lemons.
This afternoon we return to Amalfi where
you can relax before you head out for dinner

After breakfast we transfer to the port of
Mykonos for our high-speed boat heading for
Santorini Island. Upon arrival we transfer to our

Among the volcanic island of the Cyclades,
Santorini is known worldwide as the most
romantic island. Suggestion: feel free to
explore the village on your own. Walk along
the cobble-stone streets and the white-washed
houses with blue shutters.

DAY 7 - Thursday Santorini ➤ Boat Tour
in the Caldera ➤ Swimming, Snorkeling
➤ Barbeque Lunch ➤ Return to Santorini
Wear your bathing suit today! After breakfast
we depart for the old port of Santorini for a
boat tour in the Caldera (a round bay created
by a volcanic eruption). We start at the little
port of Ammoudi in Oia. Sailing close to
Therassia Island, Aspronissi Island and Akrotiri.
Our catamaran will stop at the famous “red
beach” and “white beach” for swimming and
snorkeling. We’ll enjoy a barbeque lunch on
board!
The last stop for swimming will be at the hot
springs created a thousand years ago by the
underwater power of the volcano! Overnight

DAY 8 - Friday Santorini ➤ Wine

It’s a leisurely morning – breakfast and

to a Volcan winery.

Continue on to Oia, the most beautiful village
of Santorini, in time for its world-famous

This morning enjoy a leisurely breakfast and

This afternoon, let’s have lunch at a local ouzeri
(tavern) for ouzo (Greek liquor) and meze
(small finger foods). Now we’re living it up!
We’ll make our way to the port of Santorini
around 5:30pm for the high-speed boat
crossing to Crete (2 ½ hours). We arrive at
Crete’s Heraklion port and transfer to our hotel.

After breakfast we depart for the most
important site of Crete: the famous Knossos
archeological site.

Knossos is the site of the most important
palace of Minoan civilization. According to
tradition, it was the seat of the legendary
King Minos. The Palace is also connected with
thrilling legends, such as the myth of the
Labyrinth with the Minotaur, and the story
of Daedalus, Ariadne and Theseus. You’ll be
astonished by this period’s surprising level of
technological advancement!
Off to Arolithos village built in the traditional
way, appearing centuries old, reflecting many
aspects of Cretan tradition. Here you will learn
how to make tzatziki & Cretan dakos.
Lunch will follow and then you will learn how
to make loukoumades (Greek donuts). After
lunch, enjoy a coffee & tea break at kafeneon
area where you will learn about the most
important herbs of Crete.
Free time to wander through tree-lined narrow
streets; take a look inside a typical Cretan
village house for a snapshot of traditional
Cretan life. Browse around the museum which
contains items depicting the rural history and
local handicrafts. Tonight, you will enjoy a

DAY 11 - Monday Crete ➤ Day at Leisure
➤ Farewell Dinner
Full day at leisure on Crete! You may choose to
spend the day on the beach or take the boat
trip to Spinalonga – an island “created” by the
Venetians and acted as a leper colony until 1957.
OPA! Tonight we’ll enjoy traditional foods at our

DAY 12 - Tuesday Crete ➤ Depart for
Home
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer from the hotel

Airfares are unpredictable and impossible to estimate at time
of brochure printing. Your airfare can range anywhere from
approximately $400 to $950 depending on your departure
city. Additionally, current departure tax and fuel surcharges
are running approximately $650 per person and are subject to

When you purchase your coach ticket through Perillo Tours, you
can upgrade to Business/First Class for a surcharge of as little
as $2700 per person. Live it up a little!
Your exact airfare will be advised within 2 business days
of booking your tour. You are under no obligation to accept
Perillo’s air schedule and quote. However, payment for tickets
issued by Perillo Tours is due with “final payment.”
Airfares DO include your roundtrip airport transfer in Italy at
scheduled times, provided you arrive and depart on scheduled
tour dates. If you wish to arrive earlier or extend your stay,
airport transfers are not included.

Airline Security Measure
The transportation Security Administration requires
all passengers to provide the exact name as it appears
on the government-issued passport, passport number,
expiration date, date of birth and gender when making
airline reservations. This information will be requested at
time of booking for all flight arrangements made through
Perillo Tours.
CRITICALLY IMPORTANT: Name corrections are subject to
change fees, so please have your passport in-hand when
calling us for flight reservations.
We strongly recommend you BOOK EARLY as lowest airfares
are on a first-come, first-serve basis. Plus, more availability on
the most convenient flights and best seats.

INFORMATION AND RESERVATIONS. TERMS AND CONDITIONS.
RESERVATIONS AND PAYMENT. Receipt
of a deposit of $350 per person, and
signed contract is required to hold your
reservation. The balance is due 60 days
before departure. Certified bank checks or
credit cards are required for reservations
and final payments made within 30 days of
departure. For reservations and payments
received within 21 days of departure,
you will be charged the cost of sending
documents by express mail, now in the
range of $10 to $25.
PRICES. All prices are subject to increase
due to any increase in our costs, such as, but
not limited to: increases in air, land or sea
fares, fuel cost, and currency fluctuations.
All taxes, fuel surcharges, security charges
and any other taxes or charges imposed by
airlines, airports, cruise lines, governments,
etc. are not included in price.
Gratuities not specifically mentioned are
excluded.
AIR DEVIATING TOUR MEMBERS must
arrange their own transportation from
airport to hotel and hotel to airport.
UNUSED TOUR ELEMENTS. No refund will
be given for any unused tour features, by
reason of customer’s choice, for operational
reasons, or because of bad weather.
ERRORS. In case of printing, typographical
error, computer error, verbal or human
billing error, we reserve the right to invoice
or re-invoice participants with corrected
billing.
TICKET REVISION/CANCELLATION FEE.
Once tickets are issued, a $250 per ticket
revision/cancellation fee will apply to each
ticket plus the cost of express mail charges.
This charge is not covered by the Perillo
Protection Plan and subject to change.
HOLIDAYS AND CHANGES. During local or
national holidays abroad, certain facilities
such as museums, sightseeing tours and
shopping may be limited. In such instances,
and whenever possible, slight itinerary
adjustments are made by Perillo Tours to
minimize inconvenience to tour members.
If, however, your enjoyment might be
diminished by such minor limitations,
please check with the appropriate tourist
office before selecting a departure. Holidays,
closing days and other circumstances
may change the day of the week for
scheduled “dining out”, sightseeing and
other activities.
TRAVEL DOCUMENTS. United States
citizens require a valid passport only,
when traveling to Europe. Non-citizens
have other requirements which should be
checked immediately.
BAGGAGE. Each tour member is limited
to one large suitcase and one small carryon due to limited baggage area on buses.
Some airlines are now charging for all
checked luggage as well as overweight
suitcases.
Please check your airline’s
website for current information.
As Perillo Tours cannot take responsibility
for lost or damaged luggage, the Perillo
Protection Plan outlined below is highly
recommended.
SINGLE ROOMS. A limited number of single
rooms are available at the supplement rate
shown for each tour. While single rooms
provide privacy, they are often smaller than
twin bedrooms and sometimes poorly
located, especially in older hotels.
TRIPLE ROOMS. Are available on some
tours. They usually consist of a twin bedded
room with an additional folding bed or
cot for the third person. This may not be
comfortable for three adults.
CANCELLATION
AND
INSURANCE.
Because of the extraordinary savings being
offered, if you cancel your reservations,
the penalties shown below will apply
depending on the length of time remaining
before departure. Your right to receive
a refund is limited. All cancellations and
refund requests must be sent to us in
writing and are subject to the following
cancellation charges which are based on
the price of the tour and the number of
weeks prior to departure we receive your
notice. MOST CHARGES MAY BE AVOIDED
BY YOUR ACCEPTING THE PERILLO

TOUR MEMBERS NEEDING SPECIAL
ASSISTANCE. We regret that we cannot
provide individual assistance to a tour
member for walking, dining, getting on and
off motorcoaches and other transportation
vehicles, or other personal needs. Travelers
who need such assistance must be
accompanied by a qualified companion.
OPTIONAL TOURS. Traditionally, tour
directors make available for purchase a
series of optional excursions and other
activities to fill in free days and evenings.
You are under no obligation to take any,
they are strictly optional. Depending
on the tour, if you avail yourself of all
optionals, the total will be approximately
$200 to $600 per person.
RESPONSIBILITY. Perillo Tours, Inc., and
their employees, shareholders, subsidiaries,
affiliates, officers, directors, successors,
agents, and assigns (collectively “Perillo
Tours”), does not own or operate any
entity which is to or does provide goods
or services for your trip including, for
example, lodging facilities, airline, vessel,
motorcoach, or other transportation
companies, guides or guide services, local
ground operators, providers or organizers
of optional excursions, food service
providers, etc. All such persons and entities
are independent contractors. As a result,
Perillo Tours is not liable for any negligent
or willful act or failure to act of any such
person or entity or of any third party. Tour
members are also subject to the terms and
conditions set forth on their airline, rail
or cruise line ticket. These conditions are
available upon request.
You may see the name PERILLO TOURS
affixed to motor vehicles, on signs around
the hotel or elsewhere. This use of our name
is purely for reasons of identification and
does not denote ownership, supervision, or
control by Perillo Tours in any way.
In addition and without limitation, Perillo
Tours is not responsible for any injury, loss,
death, inconvenience, delay, or damage to
person or property in connection with the
provision of any goods or services whether
resulting from, but not limited to, acts
of God or force majeure, illness, disease,
acts of war or civil unrest, insurrection
or revolt, animals, strikes or other labor
activities, criminal or terrorist activities of
any kind, overbooking or downgrading
of accommodations, mechanical or other
failure of airplanes or other means of
transportation, or for any failure of any
transportation mechanism to arrive or
depart on time. Also be advised that
foreign air-conditioning systems in public
places, hotels and motorcoaches are not
up to U.S. standards.
If due to weather, flight schedules or other
uncontrollable factors, you are required to
spend an additional night(s), you will be
responsible for your own hotel, transfers
and meal costs. Baggage is entirely at
owner’s risk. The right is reserved to decline,
to accept or retain any person as a member
of these trips at any time. In any such event,
Perillo Tour’s sole obligation is to refund for
any unused accommodations or other trip
features. Passenger certifies not to have
any mental, physical or other condition or
disability that would create a hazard for
himself/herself or other passengers.
Perillo Tours reserves the right to change
the itinerary or trip features at any time and
for any reason, with or without notice and/
or to substitute airlines or hotels of a similar
category for those listed in this brochure,
and Perillo Tours shall not be liable for any
such changes.
By your knowing the above, you can
purchase the Perillo Protection Plan
and there will be no misunderstanding
before, during or after your vacation.
From time-to-time a tour departure may
be cancelled for lack of participation or
other operational reasons. In such a case,
Perillo Tours’ sole responsibility is to provide
a complete refund of monies received
without any other liability whatsoever
including any additional costs or fees
related to cancellation of airline tickets
or other travel reservations not made by
Perillo Tours.
ARBITRATION AGREEMENT.
Any
controversy or claim arising out of or
relating in any way to these Terms and
Conditions, to the Responsibility Clause,
to the brochure, or any other information
relating in any way to the trip, or to the trip
itself, shall be settled solely and exclusively
by binding arbitration in New Jersey, in
accordance with the commercial rules of
the American Arbitration Association then
existent.
Upon payment of a deposit, tour participant
indicates acceptance of the above Terms
and Conditions and of the Arbitration
Agreement.
