Following the International Convention on Biological Diversity (Rio de Janeiro
1992) and The Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and
Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from their Utilization to the Convention on
Biological Diversity (2010) , the Vilnius University Botanical Gardens has adopted
a policy on supplying seeds to the scientific and horticultural community.
Seeds are the result of open pollination, therefore, we can not guarantee
its purity. We also regret that in some cases, when seeds are available in smaller
quantities, we shall be able to fulfil requests on the ‘first come first served’ basis.
We shall appreciate for notifying us of any mistakes in the identification of
plants.
