R EGISTER N OW FOR S UMMER C AMP
Once again, summer is quickly approaching. Register now for our
fantastic Summer Camp Adventure Program. Your school age children will experience the best field trips planned by Mr. Brian. Your
child will be on a different adventure, everyday. Don’t forget the surprise field trip at the end of summer. Summer Camp Registration information has been distributed. If you haven’t received your summer
camp registration packet, please stop by the office for a copy. Prices
include weekly field trip fees, meals, and pre & post camp care. No
worries about time constraints or added expense. Our program has
the lowest fees in Lake County and we have the best camp. We
strive to make this program affordable and insanely fun for the entire
family. Parents are always welcomed to volunteer if wanting to join
us on a field trip. Several parents have visited with us in the past and
experienced the fun. Parent meeting will be held on Wednesday,
May 15th at 7:00 pm in the Big Hollow Elementary School Cafeteria.

Once again, A Child’s Place participated in the
McHenry Chamber of Commerce Trade Events.
We are always excited about being a part in our
community. It was a great success as we met
many families and networked with neighboring businesses. It was also great to see many familiar faces who attended the shows and stopped by our booths.

Duck and Goose
Seasons are changing!!!
Please make sure that your
child has the appropriate outdoor gear as they will be outside more regular. Good Bye
snow, hello sunshine!!
By Tad Hills
This was a great story
about a duck and goose
that have to work at
getting along. The two
characters are not fond of each other, but
after working together they appreciate
each other. This is a great story about two
working together to get a spotted egg.
Little do they know its not an egg.

Spring is Here!
We are asking parents to please ensure that their child is dressed appropriately for the changing weather. Our
classrooms are still scheduled to go
outdoors even when temps
are changing. Please dress
your child accordingly.
Thank you.

Change of Season:
Please label all your child’s
clothing and belongi n g s .
When the weather changes, we would like to please ask that parents make sure your child has appropriate clothing
for weather conditions. Classrooms will still be going outside as long as weather permits.
Hand washing:
It is essential that all children wash their hands upon entrance into the classroom. Not only is it a DCFS guideline, but
one that is practiced at our Center. Parents should encourage their children to wash hands and to prevent the spread
of germs and illness.
Food from home:
Please refrain from bringing in food from home to the Center for breakfast or snacks. The Center provides nutritious
meals and snacks that are offered to all the children. We would like to avoid allergy problems.
Spare Clothing:
Check with your child’s classroom teacher to make sure that your child has adequate spare clothing just in case of an
accident. Also, please label all clothing accordingly to help avoid mix-ups.
Parent drop-off/pick-ups:
It is important to keep in mind your child’s pick up and drop off times. Should you need to drop off/pick up at different times, please let the office know in advance. Thank you.
Blankets:
Please label all blankets for your child. They are to be used during nap time only. Each child is to have his/her own
blanket for nap time purposes. Blankets are to be taken home on a weekly basis to be washed as well. Please make
A Child’s Place - Center Policies for Review
(Please refer to the Parent Handbook for additional policies and procedures.)
Payment Policy:
Your weekly payment is still due on your child's first day of the week, should your child be absent, ill, or on vacation.
Late fees will apply should your payment not be received.
Late Fees:
As always, your child’s weekly fee is due upon the first day of your child’s week. Please remit payment accordingly to
avoid a $20.00 late fee. Payments can also be made bi-weekly or monthly. Should families wish to change their payment schedule, please indicate this change as it will be applied to your account. Please drop payment in drop box
located near office door.
Center Absentee Policy:
Our staff is always scheduled according to your families needs. Please call the McHenry Center at 815.385.3311 or
Volo 847-201-1760 or Antioch at 847-838-7669 to inform us if your child will be absent for the day by 9:00 a.m.
3 week’s notice:
Parents are required to give the Center a three (3) weeks advance notice upon cancellation of care. The first two
weeks are paid for by the parent and the security deposit pays for the 3rd week of care only. The security deposit is
non-refundable as it applies to the last week of care only. Should your childcare needs change, please stop by the
office to fill out the required form for disenrollment. Charges will apply should this form not be filled out appropriately.
Key Fob Fees:
There is a $25.00 key fob fee upon registration. Each parent will receive a key, for a total of 2 keys. Additional keys
can be purchased for a fee of $10.00 Should a parent happen to lose one, please notify the office immediately. Key
fobs are not allowed to be transferred.
