MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL PAUL FREIER Hello TL
February 2016 Lead, Inspire, Achieve MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL PAUL FREIER Hello TL Kennedy parents, guardians and community members. Welcome to our winter newsletter. This newsletter highlights many outstanding things that go on daily at TL Kennedy. On Wednesday February 10th, reports cards will be sent home. This represents their final grade for semester one. Please take some time to discuss with your child the success, and areas that are in need of improvement in order to collectively set some goals for the remainder of the school year. TL Kennedy is a great place to learn and work. This is in large part to the excellent work you do with your children to support them in school. The key elements to success is the partnership we share. This partnership between teachers, parents, students and the wider school community fosters a sense of belonging that make our school a vibrant place for student success. High academic standards continue to be the cornerstone of what makes TLK a great place to learn and work. This semester, we had 47% of our students achieve honour roll status. This is an excellent school achievement. Providing students with opportunities to pursue their talents, interests and abilities, fosters a sense of confidence and pride in our students. Combining this with a strong commitment to extra-curricular opportunities helps develop the whole student with the skills necessary to become global citizens ready for any challenge that might come their way. We are always interested in what you have to say about TL Kennedy. Our door is always open. Please call us at 905-279-6540 if you have any questions. Please also keep updated on TLK Life at www.tlkennedy.com or www.twitter.com/tlklife or www.instagram.com/tlklife. TLK has recently started a Best Buddies chapter. Best Buddies is an international organization dedicated to fostering genuine friendships between students with developmental disabilities and main stream students. The chapter is busy preparing for March to mark International Best Buddies month. Students will prepare a display case at the front of the school as well as host a lunchtime event.
