Mountain Biking
Biking in the
mountains around
St. Anton
Tyrol is a first-class biker area
with more than 5,200 kilometres of official mountain-bike
routes, naturally this includes
St. Anton am Arlberg. The
“Best of the Alps” resort offers
a rewarding mountain-bike
trail network with approx. 200
kilometres. All trails are very
well signposted and scenically a
pleasure! The trails throughout
Tyrol have the same marking
as the ski runs showing the
level of difficulty. Around St.
Anton mountain bikers will
find something for every taste:
starting with easy trails through
lush meadows and shady forests
through moderate climbs to
challengingly steep climbs for
the hard core bikers.
All trails start at the Arlbergwell.com and are signposted
uniformly. These trails are not
only open to bikers but are enamoured by mountain runners,
Nordic walkers and tri-athletes
too.
Tips for bikers in the
mountains
It is recommended to take a
water bottle along on all tours
just as appropriately advisable is
a spare inner tube, First-aid kit
and repair set.. Particularly in the
high alpine area warm clothes
(everyone knows the strong air
streams as one races down hill)
Windcheater, rain protection fit
comfortably into a little rucksack.
Everybody should also wear
cycling gloves and bicycle helmet.

The following rules for Mountain bikers
are valid in Tyrol
„Work the pedals – steady – GO”
> cycle always with controlled speed especially on blind sections
such as curves since there is a chance of obstacles (e.g. road
damage, stone, branch, stored wood, grazing cattle, level-crossing
barriers, tractors, forest machines, or other vehicles)!
> Remember there could be walkers or hikers on the trail; please
slow down when overtaking them.
MIT TELPUNKT
> Please pay attention to the level of difficulty of the trail and use
your experiences and ability as a biker to judge accordingly. Wear
a helmet for protection and check all equipment (brakes, bell,
light etc.) before the beginning of every bike tour.
> Please keep within the natural path limits and accept that this is
beneficial to both the agriculture and forestry alike. Please close
the gates behind you.
> Be aware of the wildlife and nature. Do not divert from the
marked routes or go outside the limits and finish the tour before
nightfall. Do not leave any rubbish behind.
