Big Bang remembers… Related hound breeds “Lucca” (Tangens The Painted Desert; litter 05) and his friend “Julia” (right) met a couple of similar-­‐looking hounds, Greyhounds, at the dog park. Lucca is owned by Susan Kallal, CA. Show News … that the original purpose of Whippets was to bring home food for themselves and their families – and to go racing on Sundays. Tangens Big Bang is from litter 09 and is owned, with his litter sister “Lily” (Tangens Red Spectrum), by Steve and Kim King, CA. “Brand”, Tangens The Maverick Cosmonaut, litter 07, was competing with over 700 Whippets at the Whippet National show in Ohio in April. Brand was one of the ten winners of Awards of Merit. Brand is owned by Iva Kimmelman, Merci Isle Whippets, in MA. Several of Brand’s offspring did very well also by winning their classes in this tough competition. Tangens Whippets have also done well racing and lure coursing recently, and several received new titles. iRobot Roomba On the advice of my friend Rachel, I bought a robot vacuum cleaner. I am impressed by it’s cleaning ability and removal of dog hairs, and I am also entertained by it. Check out www.irobot.com Our next young hopeful “Inessa” (Tangens Inessa Galante, litter 2011) has started her show career, here with handler Anak Rabanal at a show in Pasadena CA. No -­‐ Tangens Whippets are not inbred! Laika watching the iRobot from the safety of the dogs’ sofa.
