I3 & GenG
OVERVIEW
Berita Harian (BH) inaugural student publication was launched on
4 January 2010 and subsequently revamped on 5 January 2012.
Called I3 (I-Cube – for Inspiration, Innovation and Idea) for
secondary school and Gen G (Generasi Geliga or Smart
Generation) for primary school, the 16-page tabloid-sized pullout is distributed to schools along with the main newspaper
every Monday via subscription.
This two-in-one BH student publication (I3 contents takes up
eight pages while Gen G takes up the remaining eight pages)
boasts a weekly subscription of more than 17,000 copies from
140 schools.
The publication engages student through interesting reads
including articles on tweens and teens issues, school activities as
well as articles on science and general knowledge. Also included
in i3 and GenG are short stories (cerpen) and other literary
writings by students as well as teaching aids and activities
suitable for the classroom.
Editorial Style
The publication is not segmentised for primary and secondary
level. Instead, each section carries questions or exercises
which are categorized as:
Easy (one pencil)
Moderate (two pencils)
Difficult (three pencils)
