Public logistic centers
• Creation of three public logistic centers in the regions of Vilnius, Kaunas and
Klaipėda is specified in the Transport Strategy adopted by the Government of the
Republic of Lithuania;
• As per the resolution of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania and
order of the Minister of Transport and Communications of the Republic of
Lithuania, the main development engineer for the public logistic centers in
Vilnius, Kaunas and Klaipėda is JSC Lithuanian Railways;
• The Government of the Republic of Lithuania accepted the projects of public
logistic centers in Vilnius and Kaunas as economically significant projects.
Vilnius public logistic centre
A joint venture together with Vilnius city
municipalty was established in 2011 for
development of logistic park
Logistic park are– 4 land pots for a firs stage are
offerd for private investment into warehouses (2.5
ha to 13.6 ha). More than 300 hectares are there for
expansion;
It is planned to start construction of inland
intermodal terminal beggining of 2013
Storage capacity of the terminal – 1 500 containers
TEU.
Loading area – 600 m (in the Ist stage of the
project) and 1000 m (in the IInd stage of the
project).
Loading capacity – more than 100 thousand TEU
per year.
Close to one of a biggest rail marshalling yeard of
IX International Transport Corridor.
