Microtek's ScanWizard™ Pro TX provides a complete
scanning solution for novice and experts, delivering
amazingly accurate scanned images from film and slide
originals. The intuitive interface is designed to deliver
the results that professionals dream of, ScanWizard™
Pro TX features the LCH color model for working with
images, which provides a more intuitive way to work
with colors according to visual perception, based on
the values of Lightness, Chroma, and Hue. Other
features of the software include: A full palette of
high-level color reproduction tools; on-screen proofing;
special negative film image processing with profile
support for 18 different film stocks; a selective color
tool for performing color correction to a specific color
range without altering the other colors in an image;
easy-to-use color enhancement with auto level
options; intelligent
image categories
for novice users to
obtain optimal
image quality; and
quantitative
feedback in a
variety of color
spaces.
With the ArtixScan™ 120tf, full color-management
support is provided for ICC-profiled devices, ensuring
compatibility with third-party color output systems. In
addition, Microtek's ScanWizard™ Pro TX scanning
software provides batch scan capabilities for multiple
users, allowing people who work in groups such as
production teams to create customized batch context
files for scanning directly to the CMYK, LAB, RGB, or
indexed color spaces. These and several other
extensive workflow / job-management features
provide the perfect functionality for small to mid-size
office environments. Also included is the Kodak
Digital Science color management software featuring
various ICC profiles for calibrating to specific
displays, output devices, and working color spaces.

The ArtixScan™ 120tf is an advanced, high-resolution, multiformat film scanner
featuring dual FireWire and SCSI-2 interfaces. With the ArtixScan™ 120tf,
professional artists and photographers alike will find great ease of use and
enjoy high productivity in scanning a variety of film sizes including 6 x 9 cm,
6 x 7 cm, 6 x 6 cm, and 6 x 4.5 cm films as well as 35mm mounted slides,
and 35mm filmstrips.

and a 4.2 Dmax, the ArtixScan™ 120tf delivers

Optical Density
The ArtixScan™ 120tf is equipped with the
10,000-element CCD, featuring 42-bit color
depth and 4000 dpi resolution that delivers
incredible image quality and sharp, vivid
results. It is capable of delivering full 42-bit
depth color for richer and smoother tonal
values, and an optical range of 4.2 Dmax
allows user to capture details in highlight and
shadow areas, as well as accurately
represent gradation and natural color from
originals without sacrificing details of the
image.
Dual Interface: FireWire & SCSI-2
A FireWire interface is equipped on the
ArtixScan™ 120tf bringing blazing fast data
transfer speed. In less than 50 seconds a
completed scan of a 35mm slide in full 4000dpi color is delievered.

Technology
Motion Correction Control
Motion Correction Control (US patent
pending) is a unique technology developed by
Microtek to address problems of scanner
motor deviation that arise over the course of
the scanner's life. With all scanners the
stepping motor and other guiding mechanics
are subject to deviations causing certain
tolerances to build up. As these deviations
and tolerances accumulate, the scanning
module gets increasingly "off" in its position,
which if left uncorrected negatively impacts
the quality of subsequent scanned images.
With Motion Correction Control the scanning
module is moved accurately to a precise
position on a well-calibrated stepping control
table, compensating for any misalignments
that may occur. As a result, the scanning
module can move smoothly and precisely
during the scanning process, registering
mechanical steps with ultra-fine precision for
accurate and superior scans.
Multiple Sampling technology
The ArtixScan™ 120tf employs Multiple
Sampling to reduce the random image noise
that adversely affects the quality of scanned
images. To optimize signals, each scanned
line is sampled multiple times (the frequency
determined by users in 2, 4, 8, or 16 options),
with the samples then averaged out to distill
top-quality data. Multiple sampling effectively
minimizes signal fluctuation and artifacts,
resulting in a purer image output and greatly
enhanced optical density range.

Formats
The ArtixScan™ 120tf lets users scan 35mm
filmstrip and slide formats, and provides a fast
and easy way to handle films via a 6-frame
filmstrip holder and a 4-frame 35mm slide
holder. It also scans 120 film sizes such as 6 x
4.5 cm, 6 x 6 cm, 6 x 7 cm, and 6 x 9 cm with
the included 120-film holder. The ArtixScan
120tf intelligently detects the type of medium
being scanned to increase your scanning
productivity and shorten your scan times.
