Los Angeles Fashion Week has taken place in October and it's official: we are
catching up with the world. There was plenty of style, color, music, celebrities
in attendance, paparazzi and an abundance of beautiful models. Spring 2008
collections were presented by established fashion icons, an occasional
celebrity and a few up-and-coming designers. Among the participants were:
BEACH BUNNY SWIMWEAR; BIRD OF PREY; CANDICE HELD; CHICK by
CHRISTIAN AUDIGIER; COCO JOHNSEN; DINA BAR-EL;
ECOGANIK; ELSIE KATZ COUTURE; EVIDENCE OF EVOLUTION; GREGORY
PARKINSON; GREY ANT; HEATHERETTE; JENNY HAN; JEREMY SCOTT; JOSEPH
DOMINGO; JUAN CARLOS OBANDO; KEVAN HALL
MONARCHY COLLECTION; OLIGO TISSEW; PETRO ZILLIA
RANDOLPH DUKE; SAMORA; SUE WONG; TART; The Green Initiative presented
by The Gallery Los Angeles (featuring Peligrosa, Rene Geneva, Wet Cement,
Vintage China, Protect the Element, M the Movement, Artesania and Demano);
VOOM BY JOY HAN; WHITLEY KROS and YVES CASTALDI.
During such a hustle-and-bustle-packed event, the viewers imagination gets
an overload of stimuli, there seems however to be some trends emerging
that we ought to be preparing for.
.... And the Winner is: environmentally-friendly / eco-sensitive fabrics, colors
and statements. All shades of green and natural fibers will reign this Spring.
Other leaders will be loose tops and tunics, high-waisted pants, strappy
metallic sandals and espadrilles. The Los Angeles Fashion Week was a feast
for the eyes, now the real work of finding your style in the rich spectrum of
Spring styles begins... Oh sweet sorrow, isn't it a fashionista's dream!
