Round Baler Orkel GP1260
Based on years of experiences, the Orkel GP 1260 has developed to an all round
baler, with a proved pick-up and chopping unit. Important technical details developed
round baler technology a major step further. Automatic greased bushings make the
baler over the average reliable. The machine is mainly developed for the professional
user, aiming at increasing his efficiency and reducing the costs.

Greasable bushings
Unique use of greasable bushings for the
rollers is one example illustrating how accepted
and uncomplicated technology is a better and
more economic solution compared to traditional
bearings. Price, life time and maintenance will turn
into reduced costs by using bushings compared to
bearings. The bushing is well recognized as more
robust concerning vibrations, pressure and
pollution.
Automatic bushings- and
chain lubrication
The Orkel GP 1260 is the first round baler in
the marked equipped with full automatic
lubrication as a standard.
Bushings demand regular greasing. Orkel has
therefor equipped the baler with an automatic
greasing system to ensure continuous and
adapted greasing of the bushings. This avoids
dirt to penetrate the bushings and the
consumption of grease will be approx. 50% of
manual greasing. The grease pump is switched
off/on related to the number of revolutions of the
tractor engine.
The chains are automatically oiled. Each time the
chamber opens, the chains are supplied with oil
through brushes.

Efficient pick-up + chopping device
with 20 knives
Knives of high quality are spring tensioned to
avoid damage. They automatically move in and
out as foreign objects pass through. The material
is chopped in a theoretical cutting length of 52mm
(1,9”). The knives can be positioned in two angles
and are hydraulically engaged or disengaged. The
working width of the pick-up is 2,1m. The diameter
of the pick-up enables picking up both grass, hay
and straw with a high capacity.
The rotor for the chopping unit is built very
robustly. High quality steel ”Hardox 500” with a
thickness of 10mm prevents infeeders to be bent.
The fig. Shows the difference between strong
Orkel infeeders and weak ones from other. This
leads Orkel GP 1260 having very good chopping
characteristics. The space between infeeder and
knive is constant all the time.

Robust press rollers ensure long lifetime
The rollers are made up with an aggressive profile. This
ensures both rotation of slippery material like wet grass and
straw, and provides a good compression of the bale. The
rollers profile, in combination with metal sheet thickness
and quality, results in high stability and a long life time and
reliable drive. Strong roller shafts, robust discs inside and
high quality welding, enables the rollers to take heavy
loads – bale after bale.
Smart and clear net tying system
Net rollers up to 130 cm can be used. That
makes it possible to use net, which covers the
edges of the bales. That makes it easier to
wrapp the bales. An extra 3000m net roll can be
placed next to the net roll in use. In a very
simple way, the net roll no. 2 may be released
and slides into operating position, as the other
roll is empty. Net start function can be choosen
both manually and automatically. The number of
net wraps around the bale, is adjusted by a
counting knife running on a turning screw.

Wheels
The Orkel GP 1260 can be delivered with different
wheel alternatives. Big tyres provide the best
possible stability and reduce the ground pressure,
particularly under wet and hilly conditions. The
standard 500/60 x 22,5 wheels provide stable and
good driving characteristics.
Controle unit with many functions
The new controle unit with CAN BUS
technology gives you the total survey. It easily
can be mounted in the tractor cabin. You get
different status information like ready bale, nett
tying, acid pump, amount of bales, amount of
working hours and more. In addition there is a
data base for up to 50 customers.
Connection
The balers connections (hydraulics and electrical
cables) are gathered and leaded in a tube guide on a
arm which can be swinged towards the tractor. This
avoids cables and hoses from touching the ground.
Draw bar
The flexible draw bar can stepless be adjusted
to each tractor. This flexibility is important as
well for the right position of the pick-up to the
ground. This influences the working quality of
the pick-up.
Extra equipment
Bale ramp, the bale moves from the baler when
released.
Attachment for additives on the top of the bale
chamber. This ensures, that the additive is injected
directly into the baling chamber, without touching and
corroding the pick-up and chopping device.
Can stand, can be mounted on both sides of the
baler. The additive pump is connected to the controle
unit.
Perfect under hilly conditions
Brakes, for additional safety especially in hilly
conditions. Brakes can be delivered for all wheel
dimensions.
