Getting the most from saia.com [ Tracking shipments ] saia.com YOUR SHIPMENTS. YOUR TRACKING. YOUR WAY. There’s no easier way to track your Saia shipment than logging on to saia.com — it’s fast, simple and always up-to-date with the latest information. There are five ways you can track your shipment online with Saia: Quick search (Fig.1) For one-time tracking by PRO number, pickup number, Bill of Lading, partner PRO, purchase order or shipper number, visit saia.com, then find “Track” underneath “Customer Shipping Center.” (Fig.1) nSelect your desired search option and complete all required fields. If you don’t see your desired tracking method listed under “Track,” click on the word “Track” to prompt a pop-over which includes all tracking types. (Fig.2) nNo matter which search option you select, you’ll get the live, real-time status of your shipment. (Fig.2) PRO number Uses specific PRO numbers entered You can enter up to 20 PRO numbers at once to track. Pickup number Searches based on specific pickup number entered You can only enter one Pick up number at a time. Bill of Lading Tracks using a specific Bill of Lading number entered You can only enter one Bill of Lading number at a time. Partner PRO To search by partner PRO or partner bill number, be sure to select “Partner Originated Shipment” (if applicable) You can only enter one partner PRO or partner bill number at a time. Purchase order Uses a specific purchase order number to track both outbound and inbound shipments Shipper number Searches by a specific shipper number to track both outbound and inbound shipments You can only enter one purchase order number at a time. [ Tracking shipments ] Track by e-mail You can track shipments by e-mail on a case-by-case basis, making it the ideal choice for extremely time-sensitive shipments. This option does not require Saia Secure. nTo access: • Go to saia.com • On the home page, find “Track” under “Customer Shipping Center” • Click “Track by E-mail Notification” • In the corresponding entry fields: (Fig.3) – Enter the PRO number of the shipment – Enter the e-mail address where you’d like to receive status updates – Select the needed function (Fig.4) – Submit by clicking the “Request e-mail notification” button (Fig.3) Daily tracking report A daily tracking report provides a snapshot of your freight’s status as of 5:30 – 6:00 a.m. This one-time sign-up means you’ll receive an e-mail each morning showing all shipments delivered the previous day, along with the status of any shipment still open in the Saia system. nDetails include expected delivery date and the freight’s location. nReports are organized by outbound, inbound and third-party shipments. This option requires Saia Secure. nTo access: • Go to saia.com • Navigate over the “Saia Secure” tab on the home page • Click “Daily Tracking Report” located in the left column (Fig.5) • Enter your e-mail address and click “Submit” (Fig.6) This is a static report, meaning it won’t continuously update as the day goes on. In order to view the status of a shipment later in the day, you can go to the “Status Report”. (Fig.4) (Fig.5) (Fig.6) [ Tracking shipments ] Status report A status report is a quick real-time snapshot of shipments from the previous two-week timeframe that gives you up-to-the-minute data for both inbound and outbound freight. nInformation includes: • Expected delivery date for freight in the system • Current location and status of freight in the system • Details for freight delivered during this timeframe nTo access: • Navigate over the “Saia Secure” tab on the home page • Click “Status Report” in the middle column (Fig.7) • Select either the “Inbound” or “Outbound” button (Fig.8) • You’ll see a listing of all shipments of that category in the Saia system for the past two weeks (Fig.9) • You can also print, change your location or switch to “Inbound” or “Outbound” shipments You can keep this page open all day and simply refresh to update the data. You won’t be timed out. (Fig.7) (Fig.8) (Fig.9) [ Tracking shipments ] Custom reporting Custom reporting can be used to create detailed reports to help with tracking. With over 65 different report fields to choose from, you can fully tailor a report to your exact interests and needs. You can also auto-schedule custom reports to be e-mailed directly to you. nTo access: • Navigate over the “Saia Secure” tab on the home page • Click “Custom Reporting” in the left column (Fig.10) • Click “Create” • Select the account locations you’d like to be included in the report. Please note that you can search by city, or select all locations by clicking the “*All” checkbox. Once you’ve selected the locations you’re interested in, click “Done.” If you have a single account code, you’ll bypass this step. • Make your selections for the custom report. Options include “Shipment Type,” “Date Type,” “Selection Date,” and “Report Fields.” (Fig.11) To select more than one Report Field, simply hold the “Ctrl” button on your keyboard while clicking. All fields with a * next to them can only be retrieved if you are the payer of the freight. • Once the desired fields are selected, you can click “View” to view the report, “Download” to export a report or “Save” if you’re interested in running the same report again later. (Fig.12) • If “Save” is clicked, name the report, then click “Save” again. – If the report uses a pre-selected date range of previous day, previous 30 days rolling, previous week, previous month or previous quarter, the “Auto Schedule” option will appear in the “Save Report” window. – To auto-schedule, simply click the appropriate box to enter your e-mail address and select the desired format. • You’ll then see the report listed along with any others you’ve previously created on the main “Custom Reporting” page. • You have the ability to view, download, modify or delete any report you’ve created. A * next to a saved report indicates that this is an auto-scheduled report. (Fig.10) (Fig.11) (Fig.12) (Fig.13)
