centre from 23-25 Sep tember.
This year saw gorgeous George Lamb
back to host the Town Hall catwalk
show for the second time since the
show began. With the sharpest of
suits and that famous glint in his eye,
George certainly didn’t disappoint.
Each of the stunning shows featured
nine themed scenes including
‘Hollywood Western’, ‘Dark Side’ and
‘Optic Shock’ all fabulously styled
and showcasing the latest A/W ‘11
trends. The city centre was alive with
visitors throughout the weekend,
with each energetic show inspiring
the fashionista packed audience to
pick-up a seasonal look (or four...) in
the city centre’s 100+ stores.
Elsewhere in the city centre there
was an endless programme to take
advantage of. Those looking for a
beauty fix headed to the Harvey
Nichols beauty hub, Debenhams, Puro
Hair and Selfridges to name just a few,
for anything from a manicure to a hair
restyle or makeover. House of Fraser’s
Beauty Boutique offered visitors the
chance to see top brand make-up artists
in action on stage, plus mini accessory
fashion shows and loads of beauty
offers each day. Expert make-up tips
were available at the MAC Cosmetics
theatre at The Mailbox, as well as
styling tips from Caryn Franklin’s
‘How to Look Good’ at Pavilions with
advice from celebrity make-up artist
Ariane Poole and award winning
hairstylists Royston Blythe.
Meanwhile, shoppers were treated
to a groundbreaking holographic
runway at Bullring with The Show:
Redefinition. Among the models,
wowed onlookers could also spot 2010
winner of Britain’s Next Top Model,
Tiffany Pisani and George Lamb
himself make holographic appearances
during the show.
Visitors can’t have missed the Style
Birmingham LIVE bus on New Street
offering makeovers and activities with
the Capital and Heart Street Stars, as
well as the amazing Granny Turismo
speeding by on waist-high shopping
trolleys. StyleBirmingham.com also
hosted an exclusive blogger event with
celebrity stylist Bradley Taylor, who
offered fashion tips to the audience
after each Town Hall show. There were
discounts and prizes up for grabs for
the best stylish coffee lover photograph
at Café Blend and even free cocktail
masterclasses every hour at South
American cantina Bodega.
The whole event flew by but next year’s
is already in the planning. If you have
