Welcome to the
Oasis Academy Coulsdon
Vision to be a Centre of Learning and Development for
the whole Community.
For that reason we have opened our doors to a large
number of clubs, organizations, societies, and community
groups developing a wide range of different activities
and making the most of our fantastic facilities, which
are shown within this booklet.
All of these can be hired out on a regular or one-off
basis, all year round, during the evenings, at weekends
and during school holidays.
And we have a dedicated team of Community Assistants
to provide the best service possible to all our users.

The Agora
The Agora is our central wood-panelled, glass-roofed “courtyard” and meeting area.
With it’s light and open feel it is the ideal space for a wide range of events and
activities such as exhibitions, fairs, indoor markets, dinner dances, quiz evenings, and
parties, and is big enough to seat 300 around tables. But it is also equipped with a
retractable tiered seating system (240-capacity), 103” plasma screen, audio surround
sound, and theatrical lighting, which make it perfect for concerts, drama productions,
and larger meetings. The Agora measures 28m x 15m approx.

Diner
The Diner with its bench style tables seats up to 280, has a enclosed outdoor seating
area, and full servery facilities available. For larger events it can be hired in
conjunction with the Agora and/or Food Tech. room for catering purposes.

Our two Food Technology rooms can be hired individually for training purposes, or in
conjunction with the Diner and/or Agora for catering for larger events. They are each
equipped with ten workstations, both electric and gas cookers, and a projector for
live demonstrations.

Sports Halls
We have two Sports Halls, measuring 33mx18m and 27mx16m respectively, and
along with these we can offer the use of various pieces of equipment such as 5-a-side
football goals, Futsal goals, cricket nets, badminton posts, netball and basketball
nets, trampolines, table-tennis tables, floor mats and gymnastics equipment. They
can be hired out on a regular basis or as one-offs, such as in the case of a child’s
birthday party. If desired we can even put you in contact with local companies that
hire out bouncy-castles and electric go-karts for such events.

Studio
Our beautiful wooden-floored Studio is fully air-conditioned and is ideal for many
different kinds of activities, such as dance coaching, ballet, fitness training, aerobics,
martial arts, etc. It can also be hired out for conferences and meetings and has a
seating capacity of 150. It is 10m wide by 16m long, or extended to 23m long.

The Cafe
The Café is situated close to the Community Entrance and between the main Sports
Hall and Studio, and is therefore ideal to be used in conjunction with either of these
spaces for larger events where food will be served. Or it can be hired out separately
for smaller community events.

Both of our MUGAs are hard surfaced and are suitable for a wide range of activities.
The Lower MUGA (45m x 32m) has floodlighting, and enjoys a close proximity to the
changing facilities. The Upper MUGA measures 50m x 35m, has fixings for tennis nets
and is in a more secluded position within the Academy grounds.

At the Oasis Academy Coulsdon we are lucky to have very spacious grounds: enough
to have 7 separate football pitches of different sizes! In the summer months the lines
are painted for a running track and athletics events. We also have a 12-station Trim
Trail (obstacle course) that can be used by members of our Gym, weather-permitting.

Fitness Suite / Gym
Our modern, air-conditioned Fitness Suite is open for
public use from 6pm-9pm on weekdays and 9am-1pm at
weekends. We have professional-quality cardio-vascular
machines and weights-machines. Standard Membership
costs only £20/month. No minimum contract. No
induction fee. Discounts available. Members must be

Board Room
Our newly-decorated and furnished Board Room (7m x
5m) seats 14 people around the board room table. It
benefits from a separate reception area, kitchenette,
washroom, side-room, and direct access from the
carpark. It’s the ideal location for meetings, smaller
teaching sessions or private functions.

Our standard classrooms (10m x 6m) are all equipped
with interactive whiteboards including data projectors
and sound systems. Typically they will seat up to 30
people and can be arranged to suit your requirements.

Our four ICT Suites are typically equipped with 30
workstations, interactive whiteboards incorporating a
data projector. Ideal for any training or courses which
require participants to have access to software.

Oasis Academy Coulsdon
Oasis Academy Coulsdon opened in September 2008. The Academy has undergone
a £18.7m redevelopment plan and moved into brand new buildings in November
2011. The development of facilities for community use forms a significant part of
our building which is available for public use throughout the year. Oasis Academy
Coulsdon is sponsored by Oasis Community Learning, which is a separate charity,
but is part of the Oasis Global family. Oasis UK, a Christian organisation, was
founded by Rev Steve Chalke M.B.E. in 1985, and began its work in the UK but now
delivers educational, healthcare and housing projects throughout the world.
Facilities
All hire includes access to toilet facilities as appropriate. Parking is available on the
academy site for 70 cars and additional areas can be made available for larger
events. The academy has dedicated accessible parking and full access to all areas. A
lift services all floors. Where appropriate hire includes equipment such as
whiteboards and data projectors. Where additional requirements are requested
such as sound systems, extra chairs/tables and staging there may be an additional
charge.
Opening Times for Hire
Throughout the year, Monday to Friday 6pm to 10pm. Weekends 8.30am to 12
midnight. Some facilities may be available during the day during school holidays.
Performance and Alcohol Licences
The Academy is licensed for public entertainment. Activities that come under this
licence are plays, performances of music and dance etc. In the event of the hirer
wishing to sell alcohol on the premises it will be the responsibility of the hirer to
arrange the appropriate licence.
Medical Facilities
First Aid and welfare provisions are not included in any hire and remain the
responsibility of the hirer to arrange.
Smoking Policy
No smoking is permitted in any part of the Academy or grounds with the exception
of a designated smoking area that can be requested for special events.

LOOKING FOR A VENUE FOR A CHILD’S
BIRTHDAY PARTY?
Then why not hire one of our Sports Halls, Diner, or even outdoors areas?
Here at Oasis we can accommodate parties based around different
kinds of activities such as: Bouncy-castles, Kiddi-karting, Nerf-Guns,
Football, Bubble-football, other sports and more.
We can provide somewhere to prepare food and eat, and even for
the grown-ups to sit and chat while the kids have fun.

ACTIVITIES OPEN TO MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC
Some of the groups, clubs and organisations that meet here at Oasis welcome
newcomers, within different age/ability-groups. They include Badminton, Kettlebell
fitness, Zumba, Football, Taekwondo, Gymnastics/Trampolining, “Glow” fitness,
Netball, Basketball, the Women’s Institute, and Caterham Community Church.
Also just started is our own 50+ Club, a social/games evening for the over-50s in our
local community.
