Annunciation Catholic School Girls Basketball Wins Chapel Hill Camp Sportsmanship Award University of North Carolina’s Sylvia Hatchell is a coaching legend for women’s basketball. Although she is accustomed to working with college-aged ladies, her summer camp has offered girls of all ages the opportunity to play and learn at the Dean E. Smith Center. Last week, Annunciation Catholic School sent eleven girls in fifth through eighth grade to attend Carolina’s Finest Team camp at the Chapel Hill campus. Coaches Ann Groe, Tom Bonner, and Andy Hayes led the team in three days of offensive and defensive training. The team competed with other school teams in games, and earned the Sportmanship Award for the session. Coach Bonner stated, “Our athletes won the Sportsmanship Award and it was well deserved. The team was excited to be recognized in Carmichael Arena by Coach Hatchell.” Mrs. Anna Bragg Principal ACS Dates Aug. 5 Aug. 9 First Day for Staff Family Mass Meet and Greet Aug. 10 6pm Preschool Parent Info Night Aug. 12 First Day of School We are a Catholic school, a nurturing faith community, centered on the teachings of Christ and the Catholic Church, providing a safe, compassionate environment fostering mutual respect, committed to academic excellence with high expectations and opportunities for all to succeed.
