Vining Hill was formed in the fall of 2002 by four Western Massachusetts musicians who aimed to break away from the current music trends in their area and write music that would make an impression on all who heard it. Coming from a primarily heavy metal background, the band decided to breathe some fresh air into the rock scene by creating something off the beaten path. Building off their precise, hard-hitting rhythm section, the band adds heavy, technical, guitar-driven riffs with melodic lead lines, all complimented by a unique vocal styling and heartfelt lyrics. Their overall sound unites listeners of many musical styles, creating a diverse following, and contributing to the band’s adaptability. Vining Hill’s debut two-track EP was produced by Jim Fogarty of Zing Studios and will be independently released. The songs chosen for the EP showcase a strong cross-section of the band’s creative writing style; ranging from melodic acoustic lines to incredibly tight metal riffs hanging in a delicately balanced arrangement. With influences ranging from classic rock legends to Scandinavian metal pioneers, Vining Hill is defying the critics and carving their Nick - Bass Corey - Vocals/G uitar Chris - Guitar Jon - Drums Contact ww w.viningh ill.n et www.myspace.com/vininghill vinin [email protected] Bra d Jo rda n, Manager [ 978.204.5150 ] Co rey Pl u ck er, B and Contact [ 413.695.9491 ] own niche in the face of rock music. With the release of their new EP the band plans on shopping for a label and breaking out of the Northeast to share their vision of hard rock with all who are willing to listen. Promises and Days Like These are aggressive tracks without sacrificing songwriting in order to be loud for the sake of just being loud. Vining Hill cites varied influences (Ministry, Fear Factory, 311, A Perfect Circle and Zeppelin) and have given a refreshing twist to a musical style that could’ve possibly fallen into oblivion if not for the band’s dedication to writing songs that cannot be pigeonholed as “90’s metal”. This band is far from flogging a dead horse; in fact they’ve taken what many might consider 90’s music and given it a swift kick in the ass to this century. The band has been showcasing the songs they’ve been working on for most of 2007 and if you’ve missed them or didn’t know about them you can definitely catch them playing around New England. Vining Hill have a Connecticut date just prior to New Year’s Eve and two scheduled Massachusetts dates in January. Vining Hill is as good as any band you’d hear on the radio these days and if radio programmers were more adventurous, they’d be falling all over themselves to break this band. To hear Vining Hill or more information can be found on Vining Hill’s My Space page at www. myspace.com/vininghill. Vining Hill will be performing live on December 29 in Farmington, CT at Zen Bar and in January 2008 they’ll be in Chicopee, MA at Maximum Capacity and in Southwick, MA at the Southwick Inn.
