Shevlin-Hixon Drive, Bend, OR 97702 DRINK RESPONSIBLY: We’ve all heard this before, but it’s important. Even a small amount of beer can impair your judgement, so don’t put yourself in a position where you can harm yourself, others, or turn into a complete fool. Here are some ways to achieve this: DRINK BETTER. DRINK LESS. There’s plenty of beer to be had, with plenty of time, so pace yourself. Drink for flavor, not just for impact. Always practice moderation when drinking. Get to know your limits, and don’t exceed them. Pay attention to the ABV (alcohol by volume) listing on each beer description. If you feel that moment of absolute cheer, take a break, grab a water and some food. HYDRATE & EAT. Water is your friend. Drink plenty of it, to help detoxify and counteract the alcohol stripping water from your system. Eating also replenishes the system, slows down your rate of consumption, and helps to absorb alcohol so you don’t find yourself inebriated after a few beers. However, though eating will slow the absorption of alcohol, it won’t necessarily stop its impact. Thank you! www.beeradvocate.com G ET H O M E SAFE LY! Don’t drink and drive. Just don’t. Use a designated driver, walk, or call a cab. Remember that almost every cab company can bring your car home for you, and almost every location in Bend is walkable. Be safe. Portland, OR • alamedabrewing.com Alameda Admiration IPA Admiration IPA was brewed as a tribute to the farmers, the brewers, and all the elements that give us the best ingredients and processes in which to create our product. A rich malt backbone supports an intense hop character of earthy pine and citrus derived from massive amounts of Centennial, Cascade and Chinook hops. Well balanced, yet intense, this dry-hopped IPA pays homage to its origins. ABV: 6.8% IBU: 65 Barn Owl Imperial Brown Ale The Barn Owl Imperial Brown is brewed in the style of southern English brown ale, only much stronger at 7.9% ABV. A myriad of specialty malts impart a smooth, layered flavor with notes of chocolate, caramel, and biscuit shining through. The perfect beer to celebrate the coming of Fall. ABV: 7.9% IBU: 0 ANDERSON VALLEY Boonville, CA • avbc.com Briney Melon Gose Born from our passion for experimentation, our Briney Melon Gose boasts a thirst-quenching tartness that is perfectly balanced by subtle watermelon flavors and aromas. Gentle additions of sea salt create a refreshing harmony between the acidity and fruity sweetness leading to clean, dry finish. ABV: 4.2% IBU: N/A Summer Solstice Summer Solstice is a slightly sweet, malty session beer with a creamy mouth feel and clean finish. With hints of caramel in the nose and a touch of spice, it’s become affectionate-ly known as “cream soda for adults.” The unique flavors and super drinkability make for the ultimate refreshment on a hot summer day. ABV: 5% IBU: 6 ASHTOWN BREWING COMPANY Longview, WA • ashtownbrewing.com Dark May CDA This NW CDA will give you an explosion of lupulin love! It’s brewed with Chinook, Centennial, Columbus, Simcoe & Cascade hops...Boom. ABV: 7.5% IBU: 92 14 • Bend Brewfest 2016 | Thursday-Saturday, August 18-20 ON THE X-TAP Toutle-Loo Pale Ale Fill your mug up with this crisp NW Pale Ale but remember...it’s called Toutle-Loo for a reason. Brewed with Centennial, Columbus & Cascade hops. ABV: 6.5% IBU: 76 X-TAP: BELGIAN DARK STRONG A boozy Belgian with hints of stone fruit, caramelized sugars & warming alcohol. On the XTap Thursday at 3pm. ABV: 11% IBU: 32 ATLAS CIDER CO. Bend, OR • atlascider.com Apricot Cider Pressed golden orange apricots dominate this uniquely tart cider. The Apricots add a subtle flavor that is like combining a peach and a plum but not quite as sweet. The Romans and Greeks had it right when they used apricots as a main ingredient of their drink known as the “Nectar of the Gods”. The driest of our ciders leaves a lasting round finish that calls for more. May the Gods be appeased. ABV: 6.2 % IBU: n/a Blackberry Cider Oregon has a state flag, song, flower, and this my friends is our nomination for a state cider. A deep hue of purple fills the glass as we took zero short-cuts with this fine blend of blackberries and elderberries. The tartness of the blackberries is rounded out by the complex characteristics of the elderberries. Filled with tannins the cider leaves a delightful dry and rich finish. Cheers to NW berries. ABV: 6.2 % IBU: n/a XTAP: DRAGONFRUIT CIDER A long time ago when dragons roamed the land, soldiers were sent out to bring back one thing for their emperor- the prized dragon fruit. Legend has it that as he thrust his sword into the heart of the dragon, fire and fruit was breathed out in his last breath. The fruits cactus like neon-magenta skin and lime green scales very closely resemble the flesh of a mythical dragon. It is believed that those who feast on the flesh, which has a mild kiwi/sorbet like flavor, will be endowed with the strength and ferocity of the dragon. Side effects might include breathing fire and other unknowns. On the XTap Saturday at 3pm. ABV: 6% IBU n/a THE X-TAP BREWTALITY TENT WHAT IS THE BREWTALITY TENT AND THE XTAP?! The Brewtality Tent is hospitality, craft beer style. Get it? Brew + Hospitality. It’s a word sandwich. …and it makes us laugh. Just come visit. In the Brewtality Tent we will have a variety of events including our rotating XTap beers. Brewers and representatives from participating breweries will be in the Brewtality Tent when their XTap beer is pouring. You can come meet them, talk about their beer and breweries, and just drink great beer with great people. Check out the XTap schedule on this page to see what is pouring. Please note that the beers pouring on the XTap are very low production and participating breweries sometimes switch out their flavors to get the best things on tap, or change the times to allow for their representative to be onsite. We will have a board at the Brewtality Tent each day that lists the schedule. We do our best to stick to what is published here, but be sure to check daily just in case we’ve made some changes. Brewers like to experiment, and the X-Tap gives you the rare opportunity to sample the fermented fruits of their labors. Throughout the Bend Brewfest, in the Brewtality Tent, we will offer tastes from a rotation of special, low-production beers from local and regional brewers. The Blueberry Wheat is crisp and refreshing, light bodied, and perfect for a hot summer day! ABV: 5.2 IBU: 20 Logyard IPA Our flagship Logyard IPA is brewed and dry-hopped with 4 different aroma hop varietals, giving it an upfront hop character. Pine and citrus on the nose, with notes of grapefruit, pineapple and melon, followed with a light finish that’s not too bitter. Enjoy! ABV: 6.7 IBU: 78 BALLAST POINT BREWING & SPIRITS San Diego, CA • ballastpoint.com Pineapple Sculpin Our Pineapple Sculpin IPA came from one of many small-batch cask experiments to enhance the flavor of our signature IPA. With so many tropical hop notes in Sculpin, how could we not try adding some sweet, juicy pineapple? The combination of fruity flavors and hop intensity definitely packs a punch. ABV: 7 IBU: 70 Longfin Lager A classic German-style beer, brewed in San Diego. Our Longfin Lager has become one of the go-to beers with the team at the brewery. A solidly balanced Helles that finishes clean with a hint of hops, it would easily fit in at any German beer garden. This hoppy, hybrid ale is the culmination of a trek that begins in England KEEP IN TOUCH! with its IPA backbone, on to Belgium with a tropical, funky, Brettanomyces fermentation, through the blood orange groves of California for some mellow citrus tang, and ends here in the PNW with an imperial-strength dose of four Oregon-grown hop varietals. ABV: 9% IBU: 70 Lost Meridian Wit 2016 World Beer Cup Bronze Medal Winner. Part of our ongoing Meridian Expedition. A Belgian Witbier in appearance and malt bill, the Lost Meridian Wit has a cloudy and opaque white color and silky mouthfeel from the use of loads of wheat and oats. Volkssekt (“The People’s Champagne”) was brewed with 50% German Pilsner malt, 50% German Malted wheat, gently hopped with the German noble hop variety Hallertau, and soured with lactobacillus. The result is a light beer with very little bitterness, a clean citrus-like tartness, and a refreshing yet soft finish.
