Suddenly it’s winter. Firstly thank you very much to Krystle, Krystle’s mum, Clare, Tina, and Lisa for sewing up all the kapa haka dresses. They look great. Siobhan, Maiah, Aneah, Kieren, Austin, Levi, Danielle, Katie, Mateaki and Zackariah are going to Awahou cross country tomorrow. They ran really well at Hiwinui. Good luck to them and I hope the weather holds up for it. They will need warm jackets and a change of shoes for after their race. There is food for sale out there. They will have sausages, drinks, soup etc and everything will be $1 or $1.50. Please get your tickets for the Kainui concert. If you get them from the Feilding Information Centre they will charge a $2.50 booking fee. If you get them from the Regent they will only charge a $1.00 booking fee. I don’t know if they have door sales on the night. All the children at school are in the concert and the other Kainui Principals have told me that our juniors are welcome to be on stage for the last 3 songs so disregard what I told you last week. All our children will be on stage for our item and the 3 songs choir item at the end. Tues 28th Kapa Haka Festival - Regent on Broadway 12.20pm - 12.40pm If you are unable to attend the concert could you please let us know as we have some parents who have offered to take extra children in to it for you. July Reports will be posted out to you in the last week of term. If you have things to discuss regarding these reports please feel free to come in and see the teachers. Tues 5th Religious Instruction 2.30pm - 3.00pm Wed 6th Reports posted Fri 8th Last day of Term 2 Could you please talk to your children about not wasting the food you put in for their lunches. Regardless of what we say, some children are still throwing away whole pieces of fruit in the rubbish. It is such a waste. Congratulations to Pita, Krystle and Andrea who are our new BOT members. You will all bring some great skills to our Board and I look forward to working with you. Their first meeting will be held in the Staffroom on Tuesday 14 June at 7.00pm. Thank you to the four candidates who put their names forward for the election; your commitment to the school is appreciated. We would also like to acknowledge our outgoing trustees - Susan Moeahu and Penny Jurgens. Thank you both for all your hard work, over a number of years, on behalf of the students here at Bunnythorpe School. BOARD OF TRUSTEES MEETING The June meeting of the BOT will be held on Tuesday 14 June starting at 7.00pm in the Staffroom. All Parents/ Caregivers are welcome to attend these monthly meetings. KAINUI JUNIOR & SENIOR CROSS COUNTRY at Awahou School TOMORROW - Friday 10 June JUNIORS (Y1 - Y4) - AM We will be leaving school at 9.15am Approximate Finish: 12.00 Noon SENIORS (Y5 - Y8) - PM We will be leaving school at 11.45am Approximate Finish: 2.00pm A reminder that the children representing Bunnythorpe School at the Kainui Cross Country will wear their Sports uniform tomorrow and everyone must wear shoes. They will also need a drink bottle, warm clothes to put on afterwards, two plastic bags to put their running shoes, etc in after their race has finished, and an extra pair of clean shoes and socks to wear afterwards. We also recommend parents bring a groundsheet/ tarpaulin as we will be sitting out in a paddock. There will be a Sausage Sizzle and other food available to purchase at Awahou School. Please note that your child will need to be responsible for their own money and for purchasing their food tomorrow. Thank you to the parents who are providing transport and/or acting as Marshals tomorrow. Your help is greatly appreciated. Booster Seats (Totara Class) - To those parents/caregivers of Totara Class students involved in the Kainui Cross Country, can you please ensure that you leave your child’s booster seat at school tomorrow morning. Points of Note: DATE OF REHEARSAL Tuesday 21 June 9.30am – 1.00pm Tissues A reminder that we have nearly used all the boxes of tissues that were donated by families at the beginning of the year. As a result, we need to replenish our stocks and are asking each family to please donate another box of tissues to share with the class. It would be greatly appreciated if you could send them to school with your child, or if you prefer, just drop them into the Office. Thanks for your support. We will be leaving school at 9.00am and will return at 1.00pm. We will require parental assistance with the following: 1. Help with transporting the children to the rehearsal at the Regent on the morning of the concert. 2. Help with transporting the children back to school in the afternoon after the rehearsal. 3. Parents/Caregivers will be responsible for taking their own child/ren to the Regent by 6.30pm on the night of the concert. Can you please fill out the (Yellow) Permission slip that your child/ren brought home on Tuesday and return it to school, along with $2.00 to cover the cost of transport. Offers of help with transport will be much appreciated. CONCERT ARRIVAL TIME: Students need to be at the Regent on Broadway by 6.30pm on Tuesday 21 June, so that they have time to get to where they need to be. Tickets are available from the Regent on Broadway or the Feilding Information Centre. - Adult: $10.00 - Child (under 13): $5.00 + A booking fee will be incurred Feilding Information Centre $2.50 Regent on Broadway $1.00 General Admission only - seats are not numbered. - Students in the concert do not require a ticket. The funds raised from the concert will go towards paying for a variety of activities that our students participate in as part of the Kainui Cluster of Schools. Te Pae Tamariki Festival 2016 at the Regent Theatre on Broadway - Tuesday 28 June 2016 12.20pm - 12.40pm We will leave school at 11.30am and will return by 1.30pm There will be NO Sausage Sizzle tomorrow due to a number of students attending the Kainui Cross Country at Awahou School. Attached to the newsletter is information regarding the Te Pae Tamariki Festival, which is being held at the Regent on Broadway on 28 June. All of our tamariki will be performing at the Te Pae Tamariki Festival this year for the first time. Each school has been allocated 20 minutes of stage time. Our school’s performance is from 12.20pm - 12.40pm. BUNNYTHORPE CROSS COUNTRY UNIFORMS There are still a number of uniforms yet to be returned to school following the Bunnythorpe Cross Country at Hiwinui School last Friday. Can you please return your child`s uniform, once it has been washed, to school by Monday 13 June. LUCKY BOOK CLUB ISSUE NO. 4 Bookclub Online Orders Close: TUESDAY 28 JUNE.
