Quick Yardage Chart
Maximum Lengths and Splitting Yardage
The maximum finished length for a Seamless Rod Pocket
Drapery out of 118” sheer fabric is 101.5”.
We can railroad and split the yardage for pairs of
draperies up to a maximum of 42.5” finished length.
Pricing Note: Labor Widths for Railroaded Draperies
We price Seamless Draperies by Labor Widths, based on
an equivalent number of widths of 54” wide fabric for the
given Face Width category. For pairs, only even numbers
appear because we price only by whole widths. This information pertains to price only, and not yardage.
Calculating Railroad Yardage
In order to deal with railroaded yardage in
the Exact Yardage Guide below, we determine the Number of Cuts using the length
fullness and allowance and the Cut Length
using the width fullness and allowance.
This is a reversal of the usual calculation,
but it works!
Exact Yardage Guide
The Numbers: Length Fullness 1.00, Length Allowance 16.5”, Width Fullness 3.00, Width Allowance 25”*
plus your face width, finished length, # products, fabric width and vertical pattern repeat (use 1” for solid fabrics)
Overview:
Steps:
Example:
x Cut Length...
Multiply face width x Width Fullness 3.00.....................
Add Width Allowance 25”*...............................................
Divide by vertical pattern repeat and round up............
Multiply by the vertical pattern repeat...........................
79” x 3.00 = 237”
+ 25” = 262”
/ 1” = 262
x 1” = 262” cut length
= Yardage
Multiply Number of Cuts x Cut Length.........................
Divide by 36” for yards and round up.............................
3 cuts x 262” = 786”
/ 36” = 21.83, round up to 22 yards
Number of Cuts...
Multiply your fin. length x Length Fullness 1.00..........
Add Length Allowance 16.5”...........................................
Divide by your fabric width and round up**................
Multiply by your # products............................................
92” x 1.00 = 92”
+ 16.5” = 108.5”
/ 118” = 0.92, round up to 1**
3 panels = 3 cuts
*For larger projection and overlap sizes, Width Allowance = (Projection x 2) + Overlap + 14”
**If you come up with more than 1 cut per product, then STOP. Unfortunately your fabric doesn’t measure wide enough for
your finished length. Solution: reselect a wider railroad fabric or change to a drapery with seams out of 54” wide fabric.

Rod Pocket Draperies, Unlined Seamless
Quick Yardage Chart
Maximum Lengths and Splitting Yardage
The maximum finished length for a Seamless Rod Pocket
Drapery with standard header and pocket out of 118”
sheer fabric is 104.5”.
We can railroad and split the yardage for pairs of
draperies up to a maximum of 45.5” finished length.
Pricing Note: Labor Widths for Railroaded Draperies
We price Seamless Draperies by Labor Widths, based on
an equivalent number of widths of 54” wide fabric for the
given Face Width category. For pairs, only even numbers
appear because we price only by whole widths. This information pertains to price only, and not yardage.
Calculating Railroad Yardage
In order to deal with railroaded yardage in
the Exact Yardage Guide below, we determine the Number of Cuts using the length
fullness and allowance and the Cut Length
using the width fullness and allowance.
This is a reversal of the usual calculation,
but it works!
Exact Yardage Guide
The Numbers: Length Fullness 1.00, Length Allowance 13.5”*, Width Fullness 3.00, Width Allowance 18”
plus your face width, finished length, # products, fabric width and vertical pattern repeat (use 1” for solid fabrics)
Overview:
Steps:
Example:
x Cut Length...
Multiply face width x Width Fullness 3.00....................
Add Width Allowance 18”................................................
Divide by vertical pattern repeat and round up............
Multiply by the vertical pattern repeat...........................
96” x 3.00 = 288”
+ 18” = 306”
/ 1” = 306
x 1” = 306” cut length
= Yardage
Multiply Number of Cuts x Cut Length......................
Divide by 36” for yards and round up..........................
1 cut x 306”
/ 36” = 8.5 yards
Number of Cuts...
Multiply your fin. length x Length Fullness 1.00..........
Add Length Allowance 13.5”*..........................................
Divide by your fabric width and round up**.................
Multiply by your # products.............................................
83” x 1.00 = 83”
+ 13.5” = 96.5”
/ 118” = 0.82, round up to 1**
x 1 panel = 1 cut
*For larger header and pocket sizes, Length Allowance = [(Header + Pocket) x 2] + 8.5”
**If you come up with more than 1 cut per product, then STOP. Unfortunately your fabric doesn’t measure wide enough for
your finished length. Solution: reselect a wider railroad fabric or change to a drapery with seams out of 54” wide fabric.
