One of my great passions in life is seeing Christians from different churches, ethnicities, backgrounds, and denominations come together in the name of Jesus. Just like when small streams converge into a gigantic raging river, there is something powerful that happens when Christians gather together. Youth Winter Fest is just such an occasion. Guest Band: All We Are January 10-12, 2014 hundreds of students from about 15 churches on Long Island, New York City, and the greater New York area will come together for a weekend of fun, friendship, and faith. I hope that you will be able to join us. If you are a Christian, this weekend will be one in which you will be inspired and encouraged. If you are not a Christian, this is a great opportunity to come and have a fun time with your peers and to learn about Jesus and the Christian faith. Whoever you are, our prayer and sincere desire is that you will leave this weekend knowing that God loves you and that there are people who care about you. Our theme this year is SURRENDER. Come learn, grow, and be challenged with us. All We Are is a group of God's disciples desiring to be the hands and feet of Christ. “Before we were called into a band, we were called to be Christians. Being in a band simply gives us a new avenue to work out our salvation and carry out God's calling on our lives.” The heart of these self-described "musicianaries" is to make even more of an impact OFF stage than they do on it. They want each person to know how valuable they are to God. Each person is loved and adored by God who desires to know them in a deep and personal way. All We Are have a special heart for youth. They want students to know that they are the church of TODAY, not tomorrow. They want to help students embrace God’s call on their lives, not when they grow up, but today. It's important to the band that they challenge and empower students to go forward and do great things for Christ. Guest Speaker: Duffy Robbins Featuring: Nubian Gents Duffy Robbins is in constant demand as a speaker. His warm conversational style, coupled with a quick sense of humor and a unique ability to make Scripture come alive have made him a popular speaker at camps, conferences, seminars, chapels, and retreats. He has ministered to thousands of teenagers and adults all around the world. Duffy is the Professor of Youth Ministry at Eastern University in Pennsylvania, and has authored more than fifteen books and hundreds of articles. He lives in Valley Forge, PA with his wife and best friend, Maggie. They have two grown daughters, Erin and Katie. SURRENDER In 1994 Lamont O’Neil received the release to actualize a vision which God had given him. The vision became a reality in the form of an extra-curricular activity, namely the Jr. High School 231 Step Team in Queens, NY. Little did he know that God had bigger plans. The extracurricular activity soon turned into a ministry. But the changes from the Jr. High School 231 Step Team to the Nubian Gents Step Ministry was more than a nominal one. As an organization and ministry they have traveled around the world utilizing step, dancing, singing, and even acting as vehicles to express worship to God. Their team is captivated not by the religiosity of Christianity, but by its reality and relevance to the world in which we live. They are warriors of praise and leaders of worship, equipped by God with talents, skills, and abilities which they use to glorify Him and advance His kingdom.
