Dear Premier Club Member,
I hit the milestone of 50 this year and it passed without fanfare. But recently someone asked me
about my life’s purpose and more so, what are my objectives for later in life. Not surprisingly
and maybe common to many of you, I answered I would like to be in a financial position to
enjoy the later years and to be in good health to actively participate in those later years. As many
of you know and so many of you have had the pleasure to meet, I’m blessed with a daughter
with Down syndrome to which I aim to be in good health
The Resort & Club has
to take care of as long as I can.
With that I recognized I have someone managing my financial
future, but no one managing my health. To that I add the
wisdom passed on to me by my grandfather who said, “What
good is money if you’re not healthy enough to enjoy it,” as his
financial future was fully expensed to pay for the failing health
of my grandmother.
made a conscious
decision to provide
members with the best
resources to help you live
life to its fullest.
I then committed to take the pathway towards being a healthy
80-year old, which puts my daughter at 40 years and an age that her older sisters can comfortably
manage her care. With that I called Jodi Sullivan, senior director of wellness and fitness, who put
me on the Resort & Club’s new program, the “Pathway.” She facilitated the baseline tests with
EL Medicine and Dr. Robert Willix whose offices are here at the Resort & Club. The testing is
comprehensive yet easy and the result is a lifestyle prescription drafted by Dr. Willix’ team and
now being managed by Jodi’s staff of wellness advisors. Inasmuch as it took a commitment from
me, Dr. Willix’ plan has yielded results in less than a month (weight loss, energy increase to start)
that I couldn’t get after many failed attempts on my own.
The Resort & Club has made a conscious decision to provide members with the best resources
to help you live life to its fullest. The creation of Enlightened Living, the renovated fitness center,
the recruitment of Jodi Sullivan and Cenegenics’ conversion to EL Medicine are the foundation
of this commitment. Who would have thought being a member of the Premier Club could lead
to a healthier, more fulfilled life? It’s now possible. Think about it, someone is managing your
finances, who is managing your health?
Wellness aside, October is a fabulous month with so much happening. Breast Cancer Awareness
Month, Autism Awareness Month, Down Syndrome Awareness Month to name a few of the
charitable events going on. At the Resort & Club, we’re also jump starting the golf season to
which I encourage you to join a league or for first timers, sign-up for a clinic under the newly
revamped instructional program. That said; walk the course and get your exercise.

King Salmon Battera at Morimoto
Elevated Events at the blue
Battera is a type of oshi sushi – or pressed sushi. Morimoto
takes the tradition, which involves the use of a mold, to a new level, tucking king
salmon from the cool waters of New Zealand between a layer of pickled sweet kombu
seaweed and a base of sushi rice mixed with pickled
ginger, sesame seeds and Shiso leaf (a kind of Japanese
mint). For an unexpected treat, Chef Takao Soejima’s
recommends pairing the King Salmon Battera with one of
the distinctive Japanese craft beers served at Morimoto.
Planning an unforgettable event has
never been easier. From intimate dinners to

large parties, Elevated Events handles every detail so you
and your guests can enjoy the incredible atmosphere,
amazing views and sublime cuisine the blue has to offer.

Golf Equipment Fitting
Sometimes you and your equipment just weren’t made for each other. Each
golfer has a unique swing and, for that very reason, one size doesn’t fit all when it
comes to equipment. The myth is equipment fitting is only for the lower handicap
or professional golfer. This couldn’t be further from the truth as all golfers stand
to recognize improvements in their game and score from fitted equipment.
Matching swing speed to shaft type/flex is only the beginning. A complete fitting
experience tailors your equipment needs to precisely match your game, including:
• the best set makeup
• finding the ideal shaft type/flex and optimizing how you transfer the energy you create
to maximize the ball flight
• measuring your body to find the perfect grip, appropriate shaft length and accurate
clubhead lie/loft
• establishing the best golf ball for your game to enhance your strengths around the
course
• and much more
If your equipment is fighting your true swing, you may not realize your
hidden potential. Make an appointment with either Jimmy Gascoigne,
PGA head golf professional at the Resort, Ryan Snyder, PGA head
golf professional at Boca Country Club, or Keith Burt, PGA director of
instruction, to discuss how we may optimize your game and make
your golfing experiences more enjoyable.

Step 2: A Wellness Advisor assists clients with scheduling private services that best support their
lifestyle prescription – services include custom exercise programs, nutrition, stress management
and chiropractic offerings.
For a nominal fee, lifestyle portfolio management and one on one mentorship sessions are available
from the Wellness Advisor. The portfolio management and mentorship session is designed to help
clients achieve their wellness goals and sustain a healthy lifestyle.

The Golden Mean
Proudly caring for hundreds
of Boca Raton Resort & Club
families for over 20 years
There is a new bronzed body to be found on the grounds
of the Boca Beach Club. The 16-foot sculpture by Carole
Feuerman entitled “The Golden Mean” was recently
installed in front of the lobby entrance. This monumental
work is part of a series of swimmers and bathers that
Feuerman began in the late 1970s. Her inspiration derives
from the term “golden mean” which Aristotle described as
a desirable middle between two extremes.
We are located 1 mile west
of the Boca Resort
With this sculpture, Feuerman strives not just to mimic
what the human body can do but to take it to another
level. The towering bronze weighs nearly two tons and
depicts a male diver balancing solely on his hands. With
the aid of engineers and more than 8,000 hours of labor,
Feuerman created a massive sculpture that defies the laws
of physics as it stands in perfect balance supported by a mere six inches of wrist.

The artist’s drive to create such a difficult piece is mirrored in the work itself. The
Golden Mean exemplifies the strength and resilience of the human spirit and life’s
struggle as a balancing act. For more information, please contact Baker Sponder

Flow House Boca
featuring
FlowRider and Shaka Bar & Grill
The Resort & Club is excited
to open Flow House Boca this
winter in the Tower Pool area. The Gazebo Restaurant will be transformed
into a California surf themed bar and grille serving burgers, tacos and frozens.
The centerpiece of Flow House Boca is the Flow Rider, an alternative boogie boarding/
surfing experience that allows riders of all ages to enjoy the surf without the ocean.
The Flow Rider transformed Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines into one of the
premier family cruise lines after 2 Flow Riders
were installed on their newer ships.
Adding to the accolades, the
Flow House in Bangkok was just
voted one of the top waterparks
in Asia on TripAdvisor.
The Flow Rider will be available for individual riding,
private parties, lessons and special events.
