City of Orland 120810
CITY COUNCIL Wade S. Elliott, Mayor James Paschall Sr, Vice Mayor Paul Barr Bruce T. Roundy Incorporated 1909 Reggie Olney 815 Fourth Street ORLAND, CALIFORNIA 95963 Telephone (530) 865-1600 Fax (530) 865-1632 CITY OFFICIALS Angela Crook Assistant City Manager/City Clerk Pamela Otterson CITY MANAGER Paul H. Poczobut Jr. ICMA-CM City Treasurer THE CITY OF ORLAND IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS! WE HAVE THE LOCATION: Orland is the second fastest growing community in the Tri-County (Butte, Glenn and Tehama), the central valley that separates the two major mountain ranges of Northern California. The city spans both sides of Interstate 5, the major North/South route through California. Additionally, State Route 32 intersects Orland at the I-5, heading East to the city of Chico and the Sierra Nevada mountains, and West to the Black Butte Dam and Recreation Area. WE HAVE THE AUDIENCE: Traffic counts on Interstate 5 which passes directly through Orland – 50, 000 vehicles per day. Traffic counts on State Route 32, which passes directly through Orland -. 20,000 vehicles per day. Within a 15 mile radius of Orland, exists a potential customer base of 25, 000 residents WE HAVE THE HOUSING: There are 1,500 residential housing entitlements already approved by the City of Orland. Currently, a 73 unit affordable housing apartment complex and 25 residential homes are under construction. WE HAVE THE EMPLOYEES: In 2008 the total labor force for Orland was 2,810, and growing. We have transitional employee base that can be trained into the necessary positions. We have skilled technicians. Additionally, Butte College, and the Glenn County of Office of Education have campuses and offices in Orland which are available for workforce training opportunities. OUR RESIDENTS HAVE MONEY TO SPEND: A professional analysis of sales leakage out of the 95963 zip code shows that nearly $150,000,000 in retail dollars is lost to neighboring communities every year. Why? Because we don’t have the necessary retail establishments to keep the dollars local! WE ARE A BARGAIN IN A STRETCHED ECONOMY: Lower land prices and lower rents on commercial lease properties. Lower Impact fees. Lower Taxes. Very attractive package for relocation, expansion, or a new business. LET’S TALK!: What follows is an Asset Inventory that will provide more valuable information about Orland, including retail, commercial, and industrial sites that are available. This will be updated regularly at our website: www.cityoforland.com. We are business friendly and look forward to discussing with you why Orland should be the next stop on your road to continued success. Sincerely, Paul H. Poczobut Jr. - City Manager Email: [email protected] This Page Left Blank Asset Inventory to follow City of Orland Community Asset Inventory Report This document was prepared by the Center for
