footpaths. - Warnham Parish Council
North Warnham N P Why is it, asked one long-suffering traveller, a certain Dr Buxton, in 1751, that the men and animals of Sussex are so long-legged? The answer, he decided, was that their bones had become stretched by constantly having to haul their feet out of the mud. Circular walks Warnham sits in the lower Sussex Weald. The soil is composed almost entirely of heavy Wealden clay. In the winter months the footpaths around Warnham can be very wet and muddy and appropriate footwear is essential. The walks indicated on the map have been selected to provide circular routes covering much of the parish without walking along heavily trafficked roads. At some points the walks cross roads and care should be exercised.
