Course Summary
Arabian Child’s Advanced Certificate in Early Childhood Education & Care is a foundation
level awarded certificate that will enhance knowledge and skills in order to develop
children’s; cognitive, physical, social and emotional development. It also teaches about
working in partnership with parents and learning about; professional work ethics, child
protection, policy and procedures, observation, assessment skills and class management.
This certificate was designed as a minimum requirement for KHDA and the Ministry of
Social Affairs, for those who wish to work with children 0-5yrs, in an early childhood
setting.
Introduction
This is a foundational level certificate that aims at enhancing learners’ knowledge and
skills of child care and build a strong foundation on child development, understanding the
crucial role that motivating activities and enabling environments play in maximizing
children’s learning. This course covers the areas of cognitive, physical, social and
emotional development as well as professional work ethics, working in partnership,
policies and procedures, class management and assessment of children’s progress which
will enable learners to understand their role in promoting child development.
This course is recognized by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, KHDA,
(the regulatory authority in educational quality assurance in the government of Dubai,
United Arab Emirates) and endorsed by CACHE, the largest and leading specialist
organization in the field of care, health and education in the United Kingdom.
This course responds to the local government’s requirement for those who wish to work in
an early year’s childhood setting. This certificate enable learners to work at teaching
assistance level in childcare settings (e.g. nurseries, kindergartens and pre-schools), with
children aged birth to 5, as trainee teacher or as teaching assistant. This course provides
the knowledge foundation that will enhance the learners’ opportunities to be successful in
early years education and care.

Theme 5: Observing and recording children’s work and behavior

Course Benefits
Learners who complete this program:
• Will be able to work as a Trainee Teacher or as a Teaching Assistant in a nursery or KG.
• Gain a Certificate endorsed by CACHE and approved by KHDA.
• Will be eligible to apply for CACHE L3 Diploma EYE or a CDA CredentialTM
Prerequisites
Entry Requirements:
• Learners must have completed the Introduction to ECEC or equivalent.
• Learners must have a strong level of reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Learners should have an email account and access to a computer with internet
connection.
Teaching Method
A team of highly skilled training professionals will conduct the training. The assessments
are completed online. After registration, learners receive username and password to
access the secure website to complete the online assessments.
This course is delivered via face-to-face classes for each of the 26 modules. It also requires
learners to complete at home reading and a final assessment for each of the modules.
Sessions will include: start-up/icebreaking activities, brainstorming, role-play, discussion,
groups and individual activities, games and visual presentation.
Learners will benefit from practice-based and direct in-class feedback as well as support
opportunities for further discussion and clarification during after each session.
