Drop Bars
For the past 20 years Drop Bars have
dominated the Scooter Scene. You’ll
find every custom scooter that is worthy of the name outfitted with a Drop
Bar, aka M-Handlebars. Due to the
increasing interest in our Drop Bars,
we’ve decided to expand our program.
First of all, only brand new handle bars
are used for our drop bars. Our bars
are precision cut to form a 30° angle.
First class welding, followed by sanding
till smooth, our Drop Bars are given a
base coat. The bars are then ready for
the painting in the color of your choice.
Even though our Drop Bars are manufactured according to highest technical
standards, we must remind you that
these bars are made for exhibition, not
for street use.
Nonethless, many of our customers
have registered their Drop Bar modifications with inspection authorities and
are driving their scooters on the streets
daily.

SIP meets Worb5
SIP and Andi Wrobl have been
working together since April
2001. Aka Dr. Wrobel, Andi
Wrobel has been around the
scooter scene since the 80‘s.
Known for his extreme custom
jobs, he‘s decided to share his
vast fund of specialized know
how with the scooter scene.
We made our first contact in
June, 2000 when our SIP-Zip
confronted Andi‘s Ungefahr5
Lambretta for a showdown at
an old military airport. Our
goal that fateful day was to
break the 180 km/h barrier.
Our SIP-Zip rocketed through
the photoelectric beam with
160 km/h, earning us the title
of „Fastest German Scooter“.
Unfortunately, the Lammy
motor blew out the day before,
making a direct comparison
impossible. To make a long
story short, we put our heads
together and came up with
some awesome products,
which you can eyeball on the
following pages.

Special Lip Crankshafts
Worb5 Special Lip Crankshafts offer increased
performance when used in combination with
membrane motors. Aerodynamic design, coupled with finest craftmanship, balanced and
polished, this baby delivers an optimal air-gas
mixture flow through the crankshaft and under
the pistons. Minimal loss of crankcase compression, compared to loss ocurred using a full circle crankshaft. A new standard or long stroke
crankshaft is the base of this conversion.
Dr. Worbel is quoted as saying “Hmm, ok.......
So you want to know how much power reaches
your back tires? Take a 210 Polini or a Malossi,
an english exhaust, 30er carburetor, and, of
course, a reed valve. What happens here with
special lip crankshafts shows up in the entire
speed range. Your motor simply pours out
“clean” power. Two more horsepower is guaranteed! Seeing is believing, as shown on the
dynojet, for example, Borculo. “Normal” crankshafts got barely over 20 HP, while 2 scooters
with a lip crankshaft (and no tricks!!!) got 22,5
HP and more.” What more can we say!

T5
Long stroke shafts for the
T5 are manufactured using
a standard T5 shaft base.
Using an eccentric bolt, we
raise the stroke from 52 mm
up to 56.5 mm. Top this with
a new 104mm piston rod, 1
mm shorter than the original.
On the Vespa T5, the length
of the stroke and the piston
rod is compensated by
sealing w/ 1,25mm
foot gasket. You
can combine a
long stroke
crankshaft with a
slide valve inlet.

Long Stroke Crankshaft, Fine Balanced
Long Stroke Crankshafts are balanced during
production. Disbalance can be noticed especially
in the middle rpm range, making your machine
go wild and vibrate. Our finely balanced crankshafts are tested on special apparatus. Shafts
not passing these rigorous tests are immediately put out of their misery. Results in a balanced,
smooth running machine.

Full Modification
We’ve widened the 3 cylinder foot
window, widened the boost port
channel (third overflow valve opposite the outlet), and bored open the
middle port. We’ve also widened the
side and top with the main inflow
window pushed up and at the same
time set diagonal 1 to 2 degrees.
It’s amazing how much performance
can be achieved with a complete
modification. Especially productive
is how the much the outlet modification turns up the revolutions to
a maximum performance of about
300 1/min. The complete rpm scala
shows a significant increase, as
well as improved torque. Depend
on your motor to run smoother. You
can expect an improvement of 2 to
4 Hp!!!!

For those Old School Drivers wanting to convert their Vespa handlebars to Full Hydraulic, have we
something special for you! First,
we carefully sheer off the aluminum nose on your original brake
lever. Then we build an aluminum
assembly plate to receive the
lever and weld it on the handlebar. All you need to do now, is to
screw it back on! We sand down
the handlebar, putty it and give it
a base coat. All that’s needed is a
paint job. Our price for this
service is around € 100, depending on how much work is necessary.

The chemical formula is N20. It is neither explosive nor
can it burn. The high concentration of oxygen in N20
enables it to upgrade combustion. On the other hand,
gas usage will be increased. If you use the right combination, this will not damage your motor. Usage in series
motors up to 20 HP is possible without modification.
Tuned motors that usually have 25 HP, can get up to
40 HP with our laughing gas kit! The nicest part is, you
can turn it off during normal driving conditions! If your
motor is well tuned, you can let the “gas” run until the
bottle is empty. Optimal pressure for N20 is 600-800
psi.

Anyone who can change a cylinder can do it; our kit
includes all necessary parts and is actually quite simple.
You’ll need a battery, either in the cable tree, chargeable through the ignition, or seperate with an external
charge. Batteries are not included in the kit.
Take an afternoon off, preferably with a little sunshine.
Don’t forget a six pack to get into the right mood. Special tools are not necessary. We’ve included the cylinder
bore in the kit; you’ll probably have the rest of the tools
laying around your garage.

At long last! The first racing exhaust for scooters with an E-Certificate. This
exhaust is out of the house of SCORPION. SCORPION belongs to the best
manufactureres of racing exhaust systems in motorcycles. SIP delivers the
design and further know how, SCORPION puts them together and makes
sure they are legal. Since July, 2002, SIP is the official SCORPION importer
for scooter parts.
SIP SCORPION
The SCORPION with E-Certificate is made
of stainless steel. The exhaust is compatible
with fat tires and the scooter’s original foot
stand. E-Certificate conform performance
and noise reduction are achieved though
a reduction in the joint. Removal of the
reduction produces a hefty rise in performance in lower and middle rpm’s, as well as
more speed. Of course, this extinguishes the
E-Certificate.

SIP Performance
This is Jim Lomas´ direct answer to the SCORPION exhaust system. He‘s
developed a new version of the legendary SIP Performance Exhaust System.
Using matt stainless steel in his new version, the fixtures are made of double
layered metal that reacts better to the strong vibrations of a tuned Vespa
motor. The main body has retained it‘s double walled features, the curved
joints are also double walled. Because Jim Lomas is continually working on
new developments, and all his products are hand made, there will be small
changes. New! Now, a torque friendly version of the T5 SIP Performance!
The longer joint gets more power out of the lower rpm‘s and is ideal in
combination with Malossi and Polini cylinders. We recommend the shorter, rpm
happy version with standard cylinders. All SIP Performance exhaust systems are
available in either natural stainless steel or in a polished chrome look .

Jim Lomas to optimate his legendary Small
Frame Exhaust System and bring it back on
the market. The hand made EVO 2003 is of
highest quality possible, making it worth all our
groveling on our hands and knees. The SIP Performance Small Frame EVO 2003 is available
in two versions: as a Down & Forward variation, where the system is almost completely
out of sight, tucked under the leg shield, or
the Left Hand version. The Left Hand version
has the exhaust almost completly out of sight
under the left fender. Only a bit of exhaust and
a smidgeon of the body give declaration that
this particular scooter has a license to thrill.
Top this off with an enlarged exhaust that
delivers SOUND, but no noise, and you have
the creme de la creme of exhaust systems for
small frames from Jim Lomas. A MUST for all

Stefano Scauri, THE Italian tuning guru of the 80’s,
showed the Zirri brothers his back light. At a show down
in the late 80’s at Parma, he left the boys behind him on
the 1/4 mile with 15,32 sec.! In those days, his 50er was a
water cooled Honda conversion,with a 51mm one-off crankshaft, a self made exhaust, Motoplat ignition, PHSB 36mm
carburetor and a home made manifold. The finest of Bottom
End Tuning.
We’ve actually talked THE MAN into manufacturing one of
his Hard Core parts for us!!!
Now available - the 2 Hole Scauri Reed Valve Manifold
for V50/PV/ET3 with 4 flap-Cagiva Racing Membranes,
Aluminum Connectors for 34-36mm Carburetor, Rubber
Connectors and all necesssary screws. The manifolds can be
driven normal or milled! Don’t sweat, there’s plenty of room
for the exhaust.

Scooter&Service is an elegant little tuning shop
in Hamburg. Not only are they respected for
perfect repairs, restoration and tuning, but once
in a while they develop very nice tuning parts.
When in Hamburg, it’s a must to drop by and see
what’s going down. Their 2 part manifold casing
is screwed together - no welding necessary (the
original inlets have been extremely milled, of
course)! The RD 350 Reed Valve is mounted over
the crankshaft, the manifold made of stainlesss
steel. We’ve gotten optimal results when coupled
with the Mikuni TM35 Carburetor.
As an alternative, you can use the 32er TM or the
32-36mm Dell ‘Orto Carburetor. There are a few
older PX motor cases with a smaller carburetor
surface. Sorry, in this case, the Kit won’t Fit!

MIKUNI Carburetors
MIKUNI Carburetors have an
enlarged manifold surface giving
them higher performance in lower
rpm’s than the Dell ‘Orto drum carburetors and are smaller than the
VHSA/VHSB. Also the 27, 30 and
38er MIKUNI’s are powerjet carburetors, that lean up the mix with a
secondary jet when running at full
pull. The carburetors can be adjusted through the main jet. The inlet
size of the 32er MIKUNI is almost
double compared to the 30er PHBH
from Dell ‘Orto. 211er motors get
along fine with the standard adjustment of the 35er. Try, try, try.

The toolbox or luggage compartment is
attached to the area
behind the leg shield
- and is the most
prominent characteristic of the SS. You
can have your choice
between metal and
glassfibre. The metal
version is perfectly
crafted. The 1°
series is without an
emblem holder, the
2° with a holder for
the Super Sprint emblem. All toolboxes
are deliverd with lid

Fender SS
You can choose from either a GFK fender from
PM Tuning in England, or a metal fender from
Mauro Pascoli, Italy. The metal fender is a
quality fabrication, and priced accordingly, but
worth it. The SS fender is smaller than other

gear ratio as well as carburetors. An absolute
necessity if you want the real thing and aren’t
just playing around. A definite support when

Dead beat wiring harnesses are often the cause of
electronic break downs, broken cables and cold soldering. Abrased cables can cause short circuits, ignition
timing goes awry, and in really unfortunate situations,
your cables can catch fire! May we suggest that it
would be advantageous to replace your old cables,
as repairs on defunct harnesses are seldom successful. Alex, on the road in Italy with his blue racer, had
to roll out twice with electronic misery caused by a

At the Custom Show in Paris, we met
Henrie, member of the Scooter Club
Sud Est, from Provence, France. We
heard about the Hot Wire Ignition
Cable he and his buddies in the club
built into their machines. American
drag racing scene first used this cable
in the 90’s with great success. Hot wire
ignition cable holds the ignition charge
then releases it in a fraction of a second, creating a extremely fast, exactly
timed, intense charge to the spark plug
electrode. Effects of such a precise
spark are very positive on your combustion, further, pushing performance
development to such a degree that
powerful starts, more torque, heftier
rpm development, exacter combustion
and improved emission control are the
results. Almost sounds too good to be

As you can see on both pages, we didn‘t get much sleep
last season, yeah, we spent our time on our dream machines, the SIP Racers. It was high time we did so; the
tooth of time (10 years) was knawing on our machines.
Sooo, we worked the machines over, optimized body and
chassis, then placed our babies in the careful hands of
Airbrush Diety „Pfeili“ from Austria for a face lifting. No
doubt about it, our machines strut!
Meantime, back at the ranch, our scooters have been
shown in a few magazines: „Scoot“, the American mag,
the English „Scootering“, „Motoretta“ from Germany,
and so the list goes on. Our scooters have been sighted
on numerable internet sites and the boys from the Thai
scene have copied Alex‘s racer down to the last bolt.
The end of the line looks like this: both turned up at the
Custom Show held in Paris, France, and took „Best of
Show“. That‘s the No. 1 spot for our SIP machines.
News is: A Vespa conversion to a street racer, cleaned
up and made presentable - will find acclaim and approval from the entire international scooter scene. How
about that for encouragement! The parts you can get
from SIP, the rest is up to you.

Conversion Lambretta Steering Column
Countless street racer conversions in the
90’s used Lambretta forks. Custom scooter
“Mutant”, the “Mobil 1” contained in the
Porsche GT1 or the “Best Vespa Racer”,
Custom Show Paris 2002 from in Germany
well-known builder J. Mueller are only a few
examples of Lambretta conversions. The
Lambretta steering column has two arms,
as compared to the Vespa single column.
A double hold on your wheel, resulting in
a quiet run on the road. Converting your
Vespa with a Lambretta column gives your
wheels a real dragster look through the
lower front. The fork has been improved
through addition of a steering stop and
newly milled lock. The fork has also been
shortened with a longer thread.
Conversion steering colums should
be used with newly manufactured
forks. If not deliverable,
forks can also be obtained
through exchange.

Conversion Sprint Steering Column
Oldie afficiandos! We can now offer steering
colums allowing assembly of 20mm disk brakes and
harder shock absorbers. New steering columns from
other Vespa models are the basis for these conversion
columns. Column length is adjustable, the steering
lock holder milled to fit and the steering stopper
welded on. All that’s left
is to adjust your fender. The Sprint conversion
column allows you to use a favorite shock absorber
on your machine such as BITUBO, or SEBAC,
including also the GRIMECA Clasic or
he GRIMECA ‘98 disk brake. Steering colums
for the following models:
Rally/Sprint/TS/GTR/GT and
VNA/VBA/VBB/GS160/T4 .
