We are proud of our academic programs and the many opportunities students have at NJCU both to receive a liberal arts and sciences education and to major in one of our many degree options. The faculty of the William J. Maxwell College of Arts and Sciences is comprised of dedicated educators committed to teaching and advising students as they progress towards fulfillment of their studies. On the undergraduate level, the William J. Maxwell College of Arts and Sciences is entrusted with providing the general education experience for all of our entering students. Every semester, students choose from a variety of courses representing the disciplines and areas of study in the College in a program designed to fulfill our mission of educating the whole person and preparing our graduates for success in the 21st century workplace. The Department of Music, Dance and Theatre shines as one our most accomplished programs. It offers several bachelor of music degrees as well as bachelor of arts degrees, all of which provide our students with an exceptional preparatory experience for careers in performance, music education, and music business. The Department also offers a master of arts in music education. In addition to the campus experience, NJCU students are uniquely positioned to take advantage of the cultural resources in Jersey City and New York City. Our faculty has established connections to professionals in the music, dance and theatre industries which they use to help our students experience the cultural life of the metropolitan area and pursue their careers. I have no doubt that you will be impressed with the talent that exists within our Department of Music, Dance and Theatre both among our students and our faculty. Again welcome, Barbara J.
