Your final invoice will reflect any increases resulting from currency fluctuations. Luggage: All Gate 1 escorted tour buses allow one piece of luggage per person, plus carryon bag. Additional baggage will be subject to a handling charge of $100 per piece. As Gate 1 will not be responsible for loss or damage to luggage and personal belongings, you MUST report any loss or damage immediately at the time of the incident and obtain a written report from the local authority for submission to your insurance provider. If your luggage is lost or damaged by the airlines, a baggage claim form MUST be filed with the carrier before leaving the airport. We recommend that you use brightly colored luggage tags, straps or other identifiers to help you locate you luggage upon arrival or to describe it in the event that it is lost. AIRLINE SEATS: Seats will be requested per your completed passport name list and confirmed no earlier than 40 days prior to departure. Every airline has different seating policies. Bulkhead and exit row seats are considered at airport check-in only. The passage contract in use by the airlines concerned, when issued, shall constitute the sole contract between the airlines and the purchaser and/or participants of this tour. SERA is not responsible, and the Purchaser and/ or participant waives all claim against SERA, for all of the aforesaid conditions as well as loss or damage resulting from delays, cancellations or substitutions of equipment, financial conditions, or any act, omission, negligence, or any other faults by the travel agent, carriers, hotel or any other transportation or service providers or companies, their agents, servants, employees and sub-contractors or other causes. In the event that, in the opinion of SERA, it becomes necessary or advisable for the comfort and/or well being of the passengers, or for any reason whatsoever, to alter the itinerary of this tour, including the airline and type of equipment, accommodations and/or service utilized, SERA reserves the right to do so at its sole discretion and without notice. SERA is a non-profit organization, comprised of volunteers, for the benefit of all Commonwealth employees, active or retired, their relatives and friends. It is solely responsible for its own affairs and completely independent of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania State Government. Clients with special needs will be better served independently. Gate 1 can suggest touring options based upon specific requirements. Due to physical constraints and space limitations, wheelchairs, walkers and motorized scooters may not be taken aboard motor coaches, nor are these devices suitable for touring. These devices may be utilized in public spaces such as airports, however may not be used while sightseeing. Board your flight departing 6:10 pm on your overnight flight. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment. DAY TWO: VENICE- WELCOME DINNER Arrive in London at 6:20 am. Connect to a flight departing 8:55 am arriving in in Venice at 12:05 pm. Upon arrival be met by your Tour Manager and transfer by boat to your hotel. Upon arrival, you will enjoy an orientation meeting given by your Tour Manger covering your exciting journey that awaits. The balance of the day at leisure. This evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner at a local restaurant including a glass of wine. DAY THREE: VENICE CITY TOUR Today begins with a boat ride to the Island of Murano, known throughout the world for its fine glasswork industry. Then, visit St. Mark's Square to begin a guided walking tour of romantic Venice. View the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Bridge of Sighs and visit the Doge's Palace, whose facade features a massive late-Gothic gate, known as the Porta della Carta. Following lunch on your own, you will enjoy a gondola ride with music. The remainder of the day is free to explore Venice on your own. DAY FOUR: PISA SIGHTSEEING – WINERY VISIT Today travel through the stunning panorama of Tuscany to Pisa. On arrival, view the famous Piazza del Miracoli with its Leaning Tower, the Baptistery, the Duomo, and the Monumental Cemetery. The four monuments of this extraordinary piazza make for a unique architectural blend of Romanesque and Gothic styles. En route to Florence, visit a local Tuscan farm in the countryside for a wine tasting with local specialties making for a satisfying lunch. Evening at leisure. DAY FIVE: FLORENCE CITY TOUR – DINNER IN TUSCAN VILLA Today's morning tour begins with a visit to the Accademia of Fine Arts, where Michelangelo's David resides. Walk to the Duomo, celebrated for its magnificent dome designed by Brunelleschi, and view the Baptistery's renowned "Gates of Paradise" by Ghiberti. Continue to explore the open air art museum of Signoria Square ending at Ponte Vecchio, known as the "Old Bridge." Enjoy the afternoon at leisure in Florence. Tonight is a delightful evening that begins with a ride through the Tuscan hills to a lovely villa where a sumptuous Tuscan dinner is served along with unlimited wine and entertainment. DAY SIX: SUN ROUTE VIA ASSISI TO ROME Travel today along the famous "Sun Route" motorway to the medieval city of Assisi, renowned for its 13th-century Basilica of St. Francis and Giotto's frescoes. You will enjoy a guided tour of this charming town and the Basilica. Then you will continue to your hotel in Rome. The balance of the day is free in Rome. DAY SEVEN: FULL DAY TOUR OF ROME DINNER AND SHOW The historic tour of ancient Rome begins at the mighty Colosseum, the largest amphitheater built in the Roman Empire that seated over 50,000, where gladiator contests and public events were attended by the rich, the poor and by the Emperor himself. Even naval battles were fought here. Next, we view the triumphal Arch of Constantine, erected by the Roman Senate to commemorate Constantine's tenth year of leadership over the Eternal City. Next you visit the legendary Roman Forum, the central area of the city from which ancient Rome developed. Following time for lunch on your own, you will then take a walking tour of the famous grand Piazzas of Rome. Stand in awe in front of the majestic Spanish Steps, the longest and widest decorative steps in Europe, and with your local guide stroll through the most characteristic "piazzas and vias " of Rome. Stop to admire the breathtaking grandeur of the Trevi Fountain and take the opportunity to toss in one, two, or three coins, each of which is supposed to bring a unique kind of good fortune. View the monumental Pantheon, the best preserved of any Roman building and admire the baroque Piazza Navona, which follows the shape of the ancient Roman Diocletian Stadium, with Bernini's Fountain of the Four Rivers and the Egyptian Obelisk. Tonight you enjoy dinner in a typical Roman restaurant with wine and music, then enjoy an illuminated tour of the Eternal City. DAY EIGHT: VATICAN MUSEUMS & SISTINE CHAPEL Today begins with the visit to the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Stroll through St. Peter's Square, passing Bernini's famous colonnade, to visit St. Peter's Basilica, where you will view Michelangelo's Pieta. This highly-finished marble sculpture depicts the body of Jesus in the arms of Mary after the Crucifixion and is considered to be among the most compelling of all works of art in the Western world. The remainder of the day is at leisure perhaps to shop for family and friends back home or to enjoy one of Rome's countless treasures including amazing churches and fabulous art galleries or just beautiful squares to explore. DAY NINE: DEPART FOR U.S. Following breakfast, you will transfer to the airport for your flight departing 1:15 pm arriving in London 2:55 pm.
