 INFO MARATHON MUNICH Whoever has competed in the MUNICH MARATHON that has been held for 30 years will know that tingling sensation. The concentration and tension of the runners is tangible; it only subsides after the starter’s pistol sounds, followed by the first elated steps. The sightseeing tour starts when the runners start the race: Olympic Park, English Garden, Bogenhausen art nouveau villas, Munich Gasteig, Isar Bridge, Gärtnerplatz, Sendlinger Straße, Marienplatz, Town Hall, Bavarian State Opera, Residenz, Munich Pinakotheken, Odeonsplatz, Theatinerkirche, Königsplatz, Siegestor, Leopoldstraße. Countless highlights line up next to each other before the Olympic Stadium comes within the range of vision. The runners get goose bumps: at the big marathon gate the runners are rewarded with mist, music and colourful lighting. On the last 300 metres and accompanied by the cheers of the crowd, they turn into the home stretch of the Olympic Stadium. “G’schafft” (I’ve made it), as the Bavarians say! And then? Smile please! Upon presentation of your participation confirmation you will receive your race documents when the race numbers are issued at the MM Sport Expo in the big Olympic Hall from 9th until 11th October 2015. Opening times: Friday, 9th October 2015 from 12 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, 10th October 2015 from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday, 11th October 2015 from 8 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Time Limit Finish time limit for the marathon is at 4:30 p.m. Eligibility All runners may participate from 18 years of age resp. those who reach the age of 18 at the latest on 11th October 2015. Younger participants may participate with the written consent of their legal representatives and with a medical certificate stating there is no medical reason for the participants not to take part. It is not necessary to be a member of the club. It is not permitted to participate using other sport equipment. Health check Our recommendation to all runners: have a health check! Runners not wishing to risk their health in training or in the competition should have a medical once a year. Only go to the start line if you are fit and completely healthy! Handing in clothes On Marathon Sunday before the start of the race you can hand in your sport bag or your clothes bag at the Olympic Stadium and collect it from there again against presentation of the race number. The marathon participants can hand in their clothes on Level 0 of the Olympic Stadium, from Block A to Block X. Pacemakers Pacemakers are available to you for the following marathon end times: 3:00, 3:30, 3:45, 4:00, 4:15, 4:30, 5:00 hours. The pacemakers run at an even pace (steady kilometre average) and can be identified through large colourful balloons. Start & finish The start takes place from several starting blocks in Coubertinplatz in the Olympic Park Munich. Starting block A – 10 a.m., participants with an announced time of up to 3:30 hours Starting block B – 10:10 a.m., participants with an announced time of up to 4:15 hours Starting block C – 10:20 a.m., participants with an announced time of starting from 4:15 hours You will be informed of your exact starting time in the participation confirmation. Please get in line in the predefined starting block corresponding to your performance. The finish is in the Olympia Stadion. In the stadium you run the last 300 metres to the finishing line. Refreshments There will be a total of 6 water and 8 refreshment stands along the route at evenly spaced locations. Along with water, electrolyte drinks and bananas will also be given out at the refreshment stands. Refreshments at the finish At the finishing line in the Olympic Stadium the participants will be welcomed with mineral water from Stadtwerke München, Schneider Weisse alcohol-­‐free wheat beer, fruit and pretzels. Bringing your own refreshments You will have the opportunity to hand in your own drinks (exclusively in plastic bottles!) at the information stand at the MM Sport Expo on 9th, 10th and 11th October 2015. On 11th October 2015 it is only possible to hand in drinks until 8.30 am. The event organiser assumes no liability for loss or damage. Own refreshments will be deposited on a separate table at the beginning of the refreshment stands (only on the right). Pasta party Order your pasta voucher straight away when you register! A portion of pasta including an alcohol-­‐free drink costs 8 EUR*. The voucher can be redeemed during the MM Sport Expo in the big Olympic Hall from Friday, 9th October 2015 until Sunday, 11th October 2015. It is possible to purchase a voucher at the event. Evaluation of the results / certificate The list of results will be available for download from the Internet after the event. Each finisher has the possibility to print out his or her personal certificate on the Internet under www.muenchenmarathon.de – no certificates will be sent. Medal for finishers Each marathon finisher will be awarded a medal at the finishing line. We offer each finisher the opportunity to let his/her medal being engraved after the race. This service is available for 8,00 EUR* and can be pre-­‐booked during the registration or paid at the Engraving-­‐Booth at the MM Sport Expo. Photo and video service 2 to 3 days after the event personal souvenir photos and your personal video can be viewed and ordered under www.marathon-­‐photos.com. Time measurement Time keeping at the MUNICH MARATHON is done exclusively via ChampionChip. The ChampionChip is an electronic transponder that records your personal time. The finishers will be evaluated according to the net running time (effective running time). You can either buy (31.00 EUR*) or rent (6.00 EUR*) the chip. If you decide to buy the chip, it will be sent to the stated address within 14 days. (In the case of relays the chip will be registered to the person who registered the relay) If you decide to rent the chip, you can hand it in undamaged after the race by 5 p.m. to the chip return desk in the Olympic Stadium. Then you only pay 6.00 EUR* chip rent. Or you simply keep the chip after the event. Then you have already concluded a purchase agreement upon registration and when paying the rent and after the event 25.00* EUR will be deducted from the account you have stated resp. your credit card. Please attach your chip to your shoelaces. There will be no time keeping and no evaluation without ChampionChip! A deposit of € 185,00 per runner and € 100,00 per non-­‐runner (supporter) must be received 15 days after receipt of the confirmation/invoice. Final payment must be received before 1 August 2015. Final payments received after 1 August will be charged a € 25,00 late payment fee. Cancellations: Airfares are non refundable once ticketed. No refund applies to cancellations made on or after 1 October 2015.
