From Tech to Minimal to Funky Electro and all that is House
in between, Teresa strives to fill the masses with an
uncontrollable urge to rock to the rhythm of great music that
needs to be heard by the oceans of souls dying to hear it.
A strong jazz and rock & roll influence combined with formal
music training and mastery of the saxophone at an early age
are the foundation of her innate programming ability and
natural progression into the realm of djing.
With a penchant for rhythmic complexity, organic
instrumentation and unique, captivating vocals, Teresa is a
natural at working the floor into a frenzy that leaves
everyone wanting more.
Faster than ever imagined, dj Teresa graduated to the realm
of production with co-producer Ivan The Terrible. Her first
original, Gotta Groove ft. dj Teresa, earned rave reviews
during the 2008 Winter Music Conference and was released as a full EP September 1,
2008 through Summer Rain Recordings with multiple remixes on Beatport, iTunes,
Rhapsody and 200 other online retailers world wide.
Her first original release is followed by a remix of ‘Saviors of Electronica’ by the Synth
DJs which earned her top billing on the remix EP release due out in November 2008.
After a successful mini tour in Ibiza in September 2008 to support her releases, Teresa
is eager to take her unique sound around the country and the globe.

Effective promoting for the Raw Lounge Ladies Night grand opening in October 2007
captured the attention of producer and studio engineer, Vitali Chadrine, a.k.a. Ivan
The Terrible. I accepted the invitation to visit his St. Petersburg studio. Within an
hour we were both excited about the opportunity to work together and before the next
morning the vocal files for my first original track, “Gotta Groove”, written and
recorded within three fiercely inspired hours, were waiting in his email. Working
together in Digital Performer we quickly created a tech house ode to house music that
has a memorable catch to it and big label potential. (See reviews below)
In September 2008, Teresa finished a remix of Saviors of Electronica for the Synth DJs
which should be released in the fourth quarter. She has a collaboration project with
Tony Puccio in current production in addition to a solo original project and an
upcoming remix for Kriss Dek, ensuring a steady stream of hot releases over the next
12 months.

Finding New Patrons
I offer the development of an expanded audience through proactive grass
roots/guerilla marketing tactics and web marketing via sites that include but
are not limited to: www.djTeresa.net, www.myspace.com, www.facebook.com,
www.worlddj.com, www.mindviz.com, www.shejay.com, edmtv, social/event
networking, development and submission of press releases.
The growth of house music requires the constant development of new fans. I
actively seek out new music fans in the 21 - 40 age group who consume
alcohol within a 5 mile radius of the venues I play at via social networking sites
online with great success and have roughly 1000 local bay area friends who go
out to dance and keep up with my performance schedule. A personal email and
guest list invitation have proven more powerful and effective than bulletin
board style marketing with this market segment. For a November event at
Jackson’s, I acquired 100 new friends on myspace.com within a 5 mile radius.
Ten accepted the guest list invitation, attended the event and were very
grateful that I had let them know such a great venue was in their
neighborhood. More than half of my guest list attendees were people who had
not previously been to Jackson’s.
Many of the highly sought after 30-something patrons with disposable incomes
for nice bar tabs have been turned off by the underground side of electronic
music. Yet, they still love good dance music in a classy place that makes them
groove uncontrollably.
They want house
music, but they just
don’t know it yet.

Attended Winter Music Conference from March 23 – 31, 2008 as an officially
registered delegate for the second year. Submitted original production in
the demo listening workshop and earned rave reviews from a panel of
powerhouse industry veterans. Will be attending WMC 2009 for the third
year as an official delegate.
•
Completed successful mini-tour in Ibiza during summer 2008 and scouted
out residency opportunities for 2009.

Applying for Spain Work Visa for Summer 2009.

Currently shopping finished tracks to major record labels and have multiple
requests from seasoned producers who want to do remixes for a package
release. Am starting to receive multiple requests for remix work.

Currently writing and producing additional original tracks and have solid
plans to collaborate with three different producers from different labels
within the next 5 months on new projects.

Maintain close watch on global and regional charts and trends. In addition
to purchasing new release tracks on a weekly basis through sites such as
beatport.com, I receive pre-release tracks from global producers on a
regular basis. My case is always fresh, includes tracks no other dj will have
and reflects the tastes of the venue patrons.
