SUSTAINABILITY
ABOUT SEGRO
THE DEVELOPMENT WILL BE HIGHLY SUSTAINABLE,
MEETING OR EXCEEDING THE TARGETS SET BY
THE LONDON BOROUGH OF BRENT AND THE
GLA, TARGETING BREEAM ‘EXCELLENT’ AND
ENERGY PERFORMANCE CERTIFICATE ‘A’.
SEGRO is a leading owner, asset manager and
developer of modern warehousing, light
industrial and data centre properties, principally
concentrated in London’s Western Corridor
(including the Thames Valley) and in key
conurbations in France, Germany and Poland.
We know that selecting the right accommodation is fundamental to business
success. Whatever the size or shape of our customers’ business, the local
knowledge of our dedicated teams, backed by our multinational experience,
continues to help provide our customers with the accommodation and the
environment that helps their businesses thrive.
A highly-sustainable development
Roof-mounted photovoltaics
and solar thermal collectors
Air source heat pumps
In the last 18 months, SEGRO has delivered significant facilities
in WEST LONDON through build-to-suit and speculative development
PROGRAMMES FOR, AMONG OTHERS:
Heat recovery systems
Low-energy lighting
with PIR controls
Highly-insulated walls, windows
and roofs with low U values
Water-saving sanitaryware
and low-flow aerated taps
Low-energy
micro-chp systems
DB Schenker,
Heathrow
Rolls-Royce,
Heathrow
SEGRO was responsible for
constructing a new 106,750 sq ft
facility, at London Heathrow, which
as well as acting as DB Schenker’s
new UK headquarters building
also became the company’s main
airfreight hub for the UK.
Rolls-Royce teamed up with SEGRO
to provide the world’s largest on-wing
service care centre. The prestigious
company opened the doors of its
London Heathrow Service Centre
in March 2013 where it provides
maintenance and support for its aero
engines. Comprising an area of
95,000 sq ft, the hub includes an
engine workshop four times as big
as Rolls-Royce’s previous facility at
Hatton Cross. The London Heathrow
Service Centre received a BREEAM
rating of ‘Excellent’.
Helgi Ingolfsson, CEO, Schenker
Limited said of the new building:
“What we wanted was to make
DB Schenker, Heathrow a very
modern facility that is ‘the place to
work’ at London Heathrow; a great
environment for our people and
an eco-friendly facility in which to
handle our airfreight customers’
cargo, both now and in the future,
I think we have achieved that.”
Toll Global Forwarding
and Williams & Hill,
Heathrow
Existing customer, Toll, briefed SEGRO
to produce a build-to-suit facility of
69,670 sq ft. This new and larger
facility at North Feltham enables Toll to
consolidate and expand its Heathrow
operations at a single site, from where
it can provide enhanced supply chain
solutions for its customers.
At the same time, SEGRO also
developed 16,030 sq ft on a
speculative basis. This unit was let
during construction to Williams &
Hill, which specialises in the
transportation of fine art objects.
