THEATRE EXPERIENCES TO INSPIRE EARLY LEARNERS THROUGH PLAY.
ACROSS CHICAGO
& ACROSS THE NATION
Founded in 1996, Emerald City is
one of Chicago's most attended
non-profit theatres, reaching over
80,000 Chicago-area children and
their grownups each year.
Through a rigorous collaboration
between innovating artists and
leading educators, we have created
over 30 world premiere productions. Emerald City-developed
scripts have been produced by 17
theatres in 13 cities across the U.S.
PROFESSIONAL THEATRE
FOR FAMILIES
Emerald City’s four-show season
is produced at the Apollo Theater in Lincoln Park, and we are
the resident family theatre at the
Broadway Playhouse at Water
Tower Place, located in the heart of
downtown Chicago. Emerald City’s
Little Theatre in Lakeview houses
productions for ages 0-5 and is the
nation’s first facility dedicated to
theatre for the very young. Emerald City productions also tour to
schools, libraries, and performance
venues throughout the region.
EMERALD CITY THEATRE
CAMPS & CLASSES
Home to Chicago’s largest resource
for children’s acting camps and
classes for ages 3.5 – 13, Emerald
City Theatre focuses on important
life skills to empower a child to
creatively face the world. Our
acclaimed classes and camps are
offered year-round in Lakeview,
Lincoln Park, and now in Lincoln
Square, while residencies and after
school programs are offered at
schools throughout Chicago.
PROVIDING ACCESS
Emerald City outreach programs
bring discounted or free theatre to
30,000 students annually. Emerald City’s One Fund will serve over
6,000 low-income CPS students
this year with free performances
and free brand-new books to inspire a love of literacy through play.

Ron King (Tom)
Jed Feder (George)
Ron and Tom share an excitement and apprehension about the future and
the “real world!” This is
Ron’s Emerald City acting
debut. He was last seen
in Cyrano (Riverside Theatre). Ron believes
music is the driving force in his creative and
personal life and loves that this show utilizes music as a teaching tool for kids. Making discoveries through music is a fun and
enjoyable experience.
Jed and George both
love grammar and think
conjunctions are exciting
AND useful! This is Jed’s
Emerald City debut. Additional credits include
Tug of War (Chicago Shakespeare Theatre),
Wonderland (Chicago Children’s Theatre),
and Mother Courage and Her Children (Arena Stage). Jed thinks this show fits perfectly
with this season’s theme of discovery because the music is helps us discover grammar and math and social studies, and that
helps us discover the power of music!
Teressa LaGamba (Dori)
Teressa and Dori both
think that women’s suffrage is pretty cool (for
the boys too)! Teressa was
previously seen in Emerald
City’s Elephant and Piggie’s We Are in a Play! (as Squirelle). Upcoming credits include Heathers: The Musical and
Tomorrow Morning (Kokandy Productions).
Teressa thinks that numbers, words, history,
and more influence how we live with each
other and that this show teaches us how discovering things can be fun and helpful.
Eliza-Jane Morris (Dori)
Eliza-Jane and Dori both
love to learn new things!
You may have previously
seen Eliza-Jane in Emerald
City’s Elephant and Piggie’s We Are in a Play! (as
Ice Cream Penguin and Squirelle) and Fancy
Nancy The Musical (Mrs. Clancy). Eliza-Jane
is a singer in the cabaret group Head Over
Heels and has co-written the shows Little
Black Book and Silver Screen. The group is
making their New York City debut late 2016.
Eliza-Jane believes the drive to discover is
what makes Dori, Shulie, Tom, and George
teach each other and learn new things!
Jeff Meyer (George)
Jeff and George both like
to be silly and are big
nerds at heart who love
learning! Additional Emerald City credits include
Magic Tree House: A
Night in New Orleans (as Jack), Fancy Nancy The Musical (as Lionel), and The BFG (as
Meatdripper, Head of the Army, and Ronald
Simpkins). You may have seen Jeff in Bat
Boy The Musical (Griffin Theatre), My Fair
Lady (Montana Shakespeare in the Parks),
and Sherlock…Christmas Goose (Raven
Theatre). Jeff thinks this show is all about
discovering math, grammar, and history
through the power of song so learning can
be easy and fun.
Emily Goldberg (Shulie)
Emily and Shulie are both
fascinated by the mystery of our infinite universe! Additional credits
include Dogfight (Jeff
Nomination & Broadway
World Chicago Nomination, BoHo Theatre),
Loving Repeating (Jeff Nomination, Kokandy
Productions), and City of Angels (Porchlight
Cast & Production Crew Bios
Music Theatre). Emily loves how this show
uses music and games on the path to discovery.
